3rd Person POV:
Oblivion Orphanage.
One of the most advanced care home facilities in Japan, winning the National Japanese Guardians of Dreams certificate 7 times.
It was founded in 2201 by an unknown donor who funded the entire orphanage. It is located in Iwaki City, in the Fukushima Prefecture of Japan allowing the staff to organise monthly trips to the nearby beaches for the children.
However, it is most well known for its high quality quirk training facilities to help train the children in how to use their quirks safely as the orphanage is privately owned and is on private land.
The current underground Pro-Hero Vector and the former Number 9 Pro-Hero Kraken all came from this orphanage, giving them a good relationship with the Hero Public Safety Commission.
The average adoption rate of orphanages in Japan is only 12.4% but in Oblivion Orphanage, it is a whopping 47.3% with most children under the age of 12 being adopted. Curiously, no children in Oblivion Orphanage have ever been quirkless.
As for where those children end up, that is a different story.
Victor's POV:
"Good morning, Victor! Time for breakfast, honey! Here's a glass of milk before you go downstairs. Drink it if you want to grow big and strong like me."
I'm alive.
Thank god. I was worried that I was just hallucinating. But this looks very real.
Is that my new mom? Wait, no. She's wearing a uniform that says … Mitsuri Hanabi, Oblivion Orphanage General Staff.
FUCK!!!
How the hell am I an orphan in both lives! If the gods are going to send me to another world, at least have the decency to give me a nice spawn point. ROB better hope he doesn't see me again because I will knock his ass out. But at least he let me keep my name. It would have been a hassle to get used to a new name and he gave me the ability to speak and read Japanese so at least I don't have to worry about that.
My god, I am sweating so much. Having another person's memories merge with mine is not very pleasant. Who would have thought?
''Honey, you look pale. Maybe you should stay in bed for a little longer.''
''I am FINE.'' My words come out louder than I intended for them to be.
Why am I so angry for no reason? Is it because I'm a child?
CRACK!!! SHATTER!!!
The glass of milk in her hand explodes, sending shards of glass flying through the room and cut me. Thankfully, it was just a graze with a little bit of blood. But still.
This day has not been going well for me huh.
''VICTOR! Are you okay?''
Well, this is complicated. I completely forgot that he gave me immediate access to my quirk. I knew that Vanya's power would be hard to control from watching the show but I didn't think it would be this tricky. Although, being a child might be making it worse. Just feeling some slight annoyance can cause glass to shatter. But that was really bloody awesome.
Hmmm. I should probably try to act at least a little bit like a child. But if it's too much effort, I'll give up. This world has superpowers for god's sake. I'll just lie and say that my quirk made me smarter or something along those lines.
''I'm okay, Auntie'' as I smile cutely at her which causes her scared look to waver before returning to looking worried. Being a kid is going to be fun if I can keep messing with adults like this, hehehe.
Caretaker Mitsuri says, ''No, we have to be sure. Let's go downstairs and ask Doctor Seiji to check your wound. What if it gets infected and you are no longer as cute!''
That's … stupid but okay. I can't tell if she's trying to make me feel scared so that I learn to always check my wounds or if she only cares about me because I am a cute looking kid. Well, it could be either but hopefully it's the latter.
That reminds me. I need to check my appearance in the mirror. New world, new me after all.
She picks me up and begins to take me to the doctor.
This place is massive by the way. It's basically a refurbished mansion that's being used as an orphanage. Is Bruce Wayne funding this or something? From this child's memories, one of the older orphans said that the training rooms were awesome which should help with my quirk training.
Damn, I can't wait to be a hero. Saving people is cool and all but the main thing is that the top Pro-Heroes get paid the big bucks. And with my quirk, becoming the Number 1 hero won't be too difficult.
Buzz Buzz Buzz
Damn it. My enhanced hearing has activated. Good lord, if I thought kids were annoying before, this just makes me despise them. Why on Earth do they have to be so loud? You're orphans for god's sake, I don't see any reason why you should be happy.
Ah.
It happened again. These enhanced emotions are really hard to control and my enhanced hearing is not doing me any favours. I should probably avoid as many interactions with the other kids as much as I can so I don't end up sending some of them to ROB. I also probably shouldn't make orphan jokes. Shouldn't throw rocks from a glass house after all.
''We are here, Victor.'' Mitsuri says as we enter the doctor's office.
It's a pretty ordinary room. I guess I was expecting something cooler since it's the 23rd Century but it's quite normal.
Doctor Seiji looked like an ordinary middle aged Japanese man other than his weirdly large ears and he looked down towards me with a friendly smile plastered on his face "Young Victor, It has been quite some time hasn't it. You are currently 4 years old, I believe. How time flies by. Does the cut hurt?"
"No, I'm fine. Auntie worries too much."
"Yes, she does do that sometimes doesn't she. I will place a plaster on the cut. Make sure not to touch it. Would you mind telling me what caused it to happen?"
"I think Auntie is very strong and broke it by mistake. I want to be strong like her!" as I grin widely whilst saying that.
Pretending to be a kid is so embarrassing.
Doctor Seiji's smile falters for a fraction of a second but my enhanced senses notice it.
"Hahaha, yes that may be what happened. If you want to grow up big and strong, make sure to eat and drink properly."
"Yes, Doctor"
"You can go out to the garden now and play with your friends. I need to talk with your Aunt Mitsuri."
3rd Person POV:
The moment Victor left the room, Mitsuri's and Seiji's demeanour changes.
''Mitsuri, the child lied. He is aware of how the glass broke. Would I be correct in assuming he was responsible?''
Mitsuri's fake smile was no longer present as she responded ''Yes. I believe his quirk has manifested. Judging by how no signs of exhaustion were present on Victor when he used it, it should be quite a powerful quirk. Most likely sound or energy based, possibly both. I noticed him covering his ears on the way here whenever the children would walk past talking loudly which could indicate enhanced hearing similar to you Doctor Seiji. For more insight into his quirk, might I recommend that we examine his blood samples.''
''I have placed his blood sample into the Quirk Haematology Analyzer. It should provide us with the data in a few more seconds.''
WHIRR-CLICK-CLICK-BEEP
'His energy levels.. they are off the charts. How is this possible?' Seiji thought as a visible look of shock appeared on his face.
''Dr Seiji, is there an issue?''
A smile remerged on Seiji's face, ''No, it is quite the opposite in fact. Our employer will be pleased. He has been waiting for someone of Victor's calibre. Diego's Trajectory Control quirk and Benjamin's Eldritch Gateway quirk were quite powerful but did not meet his expectations. Victor might be able to.''
''Should I have him placed in the elite training class, Doctor?''.
''Hmm, no. The child seems quite intelligent despite his attempts to seem ordinary. Let us give him the allusion of freedom and allow him to experiment with his quirk in peace. You have done a good job of naturally making him perceive you as family. Ensure that the other children do not interfere with young Victor whilst he trains. Place some surveillance on him to monitor his progress but be careful to not get caught as we have yet to confirm if he truly does possess enhanced hearing.''
''Understood, Doctor.''
Mitsuri bows her head to Doctor Seiji and leaves.
Victor POV:
Welp.
I guess my bad luck continues.
Who the hell is this mysterious employer? Please don't tell me this is some sort of elaborate quirk farm for All for One.
Wait, he mentioned two people called Diego and Ben who were from this orphanage. Like the ones from The Umbrella Academy? I don't think that team exists here but maybe my existence caused the world to change a bit.
If so, there is a chance that this is a facility run by Reginald Hargreaves and not All for One.
Though, that might not be much better.
Either way, this just means I need to get stronger and more skilled as fast as I can.
So that I can become, The White Violin.
(A/N: Writing this chapter was a lot of fun. I debated on whether or not to put a few of the other Umbrella Academy character but I decided to do it because Diego and Ben are really cool. Five is my favourite character but putting a character that can time travel into my story feels a bit cheap. Hopefully, I can eventually write a fic about Five. Leave some advice if you have any.)
