Which doesn't resemble the usual normal human eyes with white sclera, brown iris and black pupil
Instead his eyes were in purple colour with rings of black in them.
They were the eyes of God - Rinnegan
The old man's lips crack open, and a hoarse voice comes out.
It seems like he didn't have spoken a single word in many years
"After waiting for so long,"
his voice croaked

This frail old man who seems like a dead person is actually the 'real ghost'

Born during the turbulent times of Warring states and grew up on the battlefield, where both of their clans were engaged in a never ending war, forming a vicious cycle of hatred and grudge against each other.
Their friendship starts from a chance encounter, unaware of their identities, both of them develop a friendly rivalry, competing in unusual contests where Hashirama usually emerge victorious, However, their friendship eventually shatters as both of them find out about their identity, following the deep seated rivalry between their respective clans warranted them to face against each other, where they have to fight to take each other's lives, well, not both of them, but it was Madara who cut ties with his former friend so he will not have any qualms about killing him, but even then Madara was not the complete opposite of Hashirama, it was the death of his younger brother-Izuna, which leads him to accept the curse of his clan and after consuming the hatred he grows stonger
After which he fought a great battle against Hashirama to death, where he unwillingly still lost, even then Hashirama chose to persuade his friend to forget the hatred and start anew, but Madara blinded in revenge prefers to die rather than forgave his enemies, but the persistent effort of Hashirama and his action of sacrificing himself to solve the animosity between them deeply moves Madara, eventually Madara accepted Hashirama ideals and joins together to form the village of hidden in leaf - Konoha,
The creation of the village which was supposed to start a new beginning, instead drove them apart as the village highlights the differences between their ideology, despite sharing the same goal, while Hashirama envisioned peace through cooperation and balancing the power scale, Madara believes in absolute domination against others as not to have any chance of retaliation, but the final stroke to their already fragile relation was when Hashirama was elected as the First Hokage despite his efforts of making Madara the leader, seeing how he was not accepted by the village and when even his own clan refuse to support him in his ideals and choose to not follow his lead, he finally abandons the village, which he deems not to be the correct way of achieving peace.
After that, in the final battle against Hashirama in the 'valley of God', he loses his life, but even though he dies there, his perseverance and determination to follow his own path makes him rise from the dead, using the mysterious ability of his dojutsu, sharingan- 'Izanagi', he rewrites his own death and hides in the shadows of the world, waiting for the right moment, while Hashirama also passes away due to the heavy injuries he sustains while fighting Him and the Nine Tails
After Hashirama's death, the entire ninja world was plunged back into the vicious cycle of never-ending war, and seeing all of this strengthened Madara's beliefs and convinced him that Hashirama's way was wrong and that only his plath was correct.

It was the 'devil' himself which has finally shown itself to the world and was ready to cause a bigger storm which will uplift the shinobi world.
Seeing this mass of darkness resembling a human body which he has seen for the first time in his whole life time
It doesn't seem stranger to Madara rather he feels connected to it, like his own shadow.
"Hmm-interesting, now, what are you?" Madara asks a question amused by this situation
With an almost demonic voice, the black figure replies
"Madara-
I am you, Born from your will"
As the devil introduces himself, he starts to convince him that he is his creation and soon, will make him a victim, a tool, which he will use to achieve his own goals.
At the same time at a different place, another 'devil' was also tempting and making a victim of his greed and ambition.

The Hokage office
Hiruzen's face was contracted in an unmasked fury as he was spouting words in rage
"Danzo, what the hell do you want, if you continue to cause trouble for the Uchiha, it will only create bigger troubles and unrest in the whole village"
