The bicker and banter between the two contrasting figures continue until Demetrius launched a wide vertical swing at the examiner.
"Well you asked for it." The examiner stares at Demetrius with listlessness apparent on his green pupil eyes.
The cold wind sweeps across the unordinary scene, the sun's bright gaze staring at the Demetrius' enormous back. The shadow of his whole figure was incredibly daunting, overshadowing the examiner in front.
However, before he knew it, two parts from the enormous shadow fell, rolling on the rough concrete below.
"Ah—!" Demetrius writhes and churns, rolling all over the ground, tucking his bloodied arms against his stomach wincing in pain.
"…" Returning to his professional self, the examiner sheathes his blade and wiping his bloodied hands. His indifferent gaze hints at boredom, as Doni had guessed from what he had shockingly witnessed.
'That was the most lackluster fight I've witnessed. Put up a good fight or something. Tch—' Doni felt second hand embarrassment from the pathetic twig.
'Wait… What if this stone wasn't suppose to be nicked at all?!' He thinks back at the loud thud of an attack Demetrius made just before. He couldn't fathom such an attack would leave no marks.
"I request a duel!" A lady asked with confidence and pride. Her beauty reflects that of a patch of well nurtured flowers, dazzling and stunning.
'Interesting. So she also had the same idea.' Doni had a slight grin at the edge of his lips thinking that she had something up in her sleeves.
"A lady huh…" The examiner felt intrigued with an unexpected individual, stepping up and asking for a bout with himself. His indifference slightly slips, raising his eyebrows up.
As it stands, he had to follow the rules set by the entrance exam.
"10." He smiles, gesturing her to move forward to the next stage.
The rest of the entrants gasp in shock and amusement, their innumerable murmurs echoes across the exam site.
"It's her!" A young man in the crowd shouts in the midst of the loud sounds.
"The fallen noble, Arte Aurores, the undefeated female champion in the neighbouring city, Dollus!"
The tension rapidly increases, heightening the crowds interest further.
"Please do not address me as just a lady. And what I said before wasn't just so I can take the easy route." Her posture firm and tall, showing her valiant integrity. Her pink eyes as unwavering as the immovable boulder. Her pink long hair radiates a new shine under the scorching sun ray from above. The wind slightly flutters her blue cape, adorned to her silver armour. Her stance, oozes a dark and unnerving aura around her, unsettling both Doni and the rest of the crowd.
'This stance!" Doni's smile widens and his eyes sparkle with captivation.
"The Six Jabber." Joseph said calmly, appearing next to Doni who is observing with his own intrigue.
"This is taught to Sword Trainees in Dollus. Currently there are only about a thousand who currently hold that title." Joseph explains. But as his eyes darts to Doni, he smiles and said, "I think you are more interesting than this lady on the podium."
"How so?" Curious, Doni wonders why Joseph who he deems a little peculiar think so highly of himself.
"I will tell you if you become my friend." Joseph chuckles.
"…"
'Friend… How nostalgic and useless.' Doni quietly ponders to himself.
Artemesia holds her sword at a low angle, like a snake awaiting for its prey to move.
Her scarred and lean muscles tenses, revealing her experience over the many years.
Her breath silent, but it oozes a black smoke. The pink eyes manifests pink lines all across the eyes.
The examiner wipped out his sword, holding the handle tight, showing a natural vertical sword stance.
'Vertical sword stance is an interesting approach. The stabs are effectively a counter to this stance. I wonder why you chose this examiner.' Doni questioned.
"I accept, swordsman." Leaning his body forward with seriousness planted on his face.
Then, Arte begins her onslaught of stabs, "The First Stab, Three Pierce."
Imitating the consective wind protesting stabs. The examiner swiftly dodges them and then unleashes a swift vertical swing, applying a gust of wind in front.
The sharp wind flies an incredible speed, but, she blocks the attack and swings the wind gust with double the force back at the examiner.
Slightly shocked, the examiner reveals a wide smile.
With the powerful attack applying a wind pressure across the exam site. The entrants who were not anticipating such an attack to come, fell down abruptly.
Some were calm with their arms crossed, watching the battle in silence.
"Did she just return the attack with double the force?!" Doni's questioned excitingly with hair raising skin.
"Her ability is said to have the most potential out of all the Sword Trainees." Joseph solemnly said, observing with his serene eyes.
Shocked as well, the audience of entrants synonymously thought that she was an incredible swordsman.
"Impressive." He mutters while being pushed back. His feet scraping across the concrete forming parallel dips.
"I am the Wind King, Bruno Redford, a Sword Expert." Bracing with a new and less guarded stance. "I shall take this up a notch." His green eyes illuminate a bright light. There was no aura, it felt as if there wasn't much to this individual.
His body leans forward, slouching. His muscles gradually relaxes, making his presence more unnerving and unknown.
The air was both silent and still. It felt as if time stopped for the people who were within the vicinity.
The tension in the exam site grew ever so slowly, while it felt slow, the impending anticipating was felt by all.
Doni commented, "While that stance looks like it has many openings. It also has many baits and counters hidden in the midst of all."
'This person prescence just disappeared!' Doni feeling the tingling senses running through his spine.
"One of the requirements for a Sword Expert, the Trance. The power to control consciousness and spirit."
