Chapter 1 - Heroes are created not born.

The sun cast its golden rays upon the training grounds, illuminating the determined figure of Alexander, known to few as Alex. His messy, wavy hair danced in the gentle breeze, as if fueled by his unyielding spirit. Today was the day he'd finally surpass his father, Thane, in a sparring match.

Years of rigorous training had prepared Alex for this moment. His bright blue eyes, like two shimmering sapphires, locked onto his father's, their intensity unwavering. The air was alive with anticipation, the very atmosphere charged with the promise of a decisive battle.

With a burst of aerokinesis, Alex propelled himself forward, his feet barely touching the ground. The wind whipped through his hair, carrying whispers. Thane, unfazed, stood firm, his eyes gleaming with a mix of pride and caution.

The first strike came swiftly, a lightning-fast jab aimed at Thane's chest. The older man raised a hand, his palm open, and effortlessly deflected the blow. Alex's follow-up attack, a wind-boosted spinning kick, whirred through the air, only to miss its mark as Thane ducked with fluid grace.

Thane countered with an open-palm strike, unleashing a compressed wave of wind that threatened to shatter the nearby trees. Alex raised a blue protective barrier, its surface etched with intricate runes, blocking the attack. The impact sent him flying, his body arcing through the air like a leaf on a gusty day.

Regaining his footing on the branch of a nearby tree, Alex launched a wind arrow at Thane, its tip sharpened to a razor's edge. Thane barely blocked it, his arms crossed in a defensive stance. The force of the arrow shook the trees, rattling the fence that surrounded their property.

As dust obscured Thane's visibility, Alex seized the opportunity. With a swift kick, he unleashed compressed wind, pushing Thane back several feet. The older man's eyes widened, his expression a mix of surprise and admiration.

A triumphant smirk spread across Alex's face. "Bring it on, old man," he taunted, his voice dripping with confidence.

Thane's smile grew, his eyes sparkling with intrigue. "Very good. Maybe it's time to get serious."

Alex charged forward, saber force fields surrounding his arms. The air shimmered with energy as the two clashed, their movements a blur of wind against wind. Slices of wind sliced through the air, threatening to shred the nearby foliage.

Thane stumbled back, his footing uncertain, until he bumped into a sturdy oak tree. Alex sensed victory within his grasp. With a battle cry, he crossed his sabers, unleashing a maelstrom of wind that slammed Thane into the tree.

"When did he become so strong", his father thought, a proud smile forming across his face. He knew how much Alex wanted to surpass him, sometimes it worried him how much Alex has burdened himself with being a worthy son. Even at this moment as he looked at him , panting , waiting for him to get back up, he saw the pressure he put upon himself.

"Alright. I concede ." He said finally getting up, " you win."

Alex's eyes lit up, he had finally done, even though he knew his father had more fight in him.

"I told you old man. Maybe I'm even stronger than you..." Alex said grinning ear to ear.

"Really?" His father responded. Before Alex could even process what had happened, he was hit with an one inch punch sending him into his house.

"Thane! You better not be beating up Alex again ."Alex's mom said from inside, quickly coming out to check on Alex. She had dashing blue eyes with blonde hair and a form of a supermodel. Her short stature making her look younger than she is... Although she refuses to tell anyone her actual age.

"Oh my poor boy!" She said running to Alex that was laid out on the floor.

"Are you okay? "

"Yes Ma. " Alex responded pain clearly in his voice. Her mother's attention slowly turned to his father, her eyes ice cold. "Just leave me here... Let me rest a little." Alex pleaded.

"Okay baby." After that her voice changed to that of a disappointed principal, "Thane? May I see you? In the house." She then walked inside dragging Alex's father like a bull to be butchered.

Alex started smiling as he heard his mom really tell his father off. He then closed his eyes as he reminisced over his pseudo victory.
