Chapter 28 - Through the Cosmic Veil

*Stark Tower, Moments Later*

The lab was filled with tension as the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Doctor Strange gathered. The weight of their mission was heavy on everyone's shoulders. With the multiverse still at risk and a powerful cosmic force scattered across realities, they knew that what came next would push them beyond their limits.

Tony Stark leaned against his workstation, his eyes scanning the room. "Alright, we all know the situation. The multiverse is hanging by a thread, and whatever we fought is still out there, pulling the strings. We need to reach out to the cosmic entities—fast."

Reed Richards stepped forward, nodding in agreement. "We've faced multiversal threats before, but this is different. We're dealing with something beyond our comprehension, something tied to the very foundation of reality."

Jean Grey, her expression grave, chimed in. "And it's searching for power. The Phoenix Force is part of what it wants. If it regains enough strength, we might not be able to stop it next time."

Doctor Strange, standing in the corner of the room with his arms crossed, looked up from his meditations. "I've already begun the preparations. Contacting the Living Tribunal, Eternity, and the other cosmic entities is not something we can rush. Their power transcends the universe itself. But it must be done."

Logan, still nursing his wounds from the last battle, grunted. "What makes you so sure they'll help us? They're cosmic beings. What do they care about a bunch of mortals like us?"

Strange's eyes glowed faintly as he looked at Logan. "Because if the multiverse collapses, it threatens everything. Not just us, but them too. They may not intervene often, but this is one of those times when even they can't afford to look the other way."

Sue Storm placed a hand on Reed's arm. "So what's the plan? How do we even contact them?"

Strange waved his hand, and a swirling portal of golden light appeared in the center of the room. "We're going to the source of all creation—the Nexus of All Realities. It's the one place where we can reach out to the cosmic forces governing the multiverse."

Peter Parker, standing next to Johnny Storm, looked uncertain. "So... we're just going to knock on the door of the gods and ask for help? That sounds... risky."

Tony smirked. "Risky is what we do, kid."

*The Nexus of All Realities*

The team stepped through the portal and into the vast expanse of the Nexus. It was a place that defied description—an infinite realm where every possible reality intersected, stretching out into eternity in every direction. Swirling clouds of energy and light danced around them, and distant echoes of other worlds could be heard faintly, like whispers on the wind.

Doctor Strange led the way, his eyes focused ahead. "The Nexus is a gateway to all dimensions, but it's also the one place where we can commune with the higher powers. Stay close. We don't want to get lost here."

Tony, his Iron Man suit glowing with energy, looked around in awe. "I've seen a lot of crazy things in my time, but this... this takes the cake."

Reed Richards stretched his arm forward, pointing ahead. "There's a central point up ahead. It's where the energies of the multiverse converge. If we're going to reach the cosmic entities, that's where we need to be."

As they approached the convergence point, Strange began to chant, his voice resonating with the mystical energies of the Nexus. The air around them hummed with power, and a brilliant light began to form in the center of the space.

Suddenly, the light exploded outward, and three towering figures appeared before them, each one radiating a different kind of cosmic energy. The Living Tribunal, with its three faces of equity, necessity, and vengeance; Eternity, whose form contained the vastness of the universe itself; and Infinity, shimmering like the stars.

**"Why have you come?"** the Living Tribunal's voices boomed, each face turning to regard the group.

Strange stepped forward, bowing his head slightly in respect. "We come seeking your aid. The multiverse is in danger—threatened by a force we cannot fully understand. A being of pure entropy, scattered across realities, attempting to destabilize the fabric of existence."

Eternity's eyes glowed brightly. *"We are aware of this force. It is a remnant of the First Firmament, a being of primordial chaos that existed before the multiverse was born. It seeks to reclaim what was lost—power over all creation."*

Infinity's voice was softer, but no less powerful. *"But it is not yet whole. Its essence is fractured, searching for the means to reform. That is why it seeks the Phoenix Force. It believes that with that power, it can dominate the multiverse."*

Tony stepped forward, his face serious. "So how do we stop it? We've already fought it once, and we barely made it out alive."

The Living Tribunal's three faces regarded Tony with solemnity. *"The being cannot be destroyed as long as its essence is scattered across the multiverse. You must gather the fragments of its power and contain them. Only then can it be defeated."*

Jean Grey, feeling the weight of the Phoenix Force within her, spoke up. "If it comes for me again... if it tries to merge with the Phoenix, I don't know if I'll be able to stop it."

Infinity's form shimmered. *"The Phoenix Force is both creation and destruction. It is part of the cosmic cycle. You must use its power wisely, for it alone can either save or doom the multiverse."*

Strange nodded, absorbing the weight of their words. "How do we gather these fragments? The multiverse is infinite. It could take lifetimes."

Eternity's voice echoed through the Nexus. *"The Nexus will guide you. The paths to the fragments will reveal themselves to those who seek with purpose. But be warned—each fragment is guarded by a different force, each more dangerous than the last."*

Tony crossed his arms, his mind already racing with possibilities. "So we're on a cosmic scavenger hunt. Great. Any tips on how to survive this?"

The Living Tribunal's faces shifted in unison. *"You must work together. No single being, no single team, can face what lies ahead alone. Only by combining your strengths can you hope to succeed."*

Infinity's form flickered, as though she were fading from view. *"The fate of the multiverse rests in your hands. Choose your path wisely, mortals."*

With that, the cosmic entities began to fade, their forms dissolving into the swirling energies of the Nexus. The air around the team grew still once more, the immense power of the entities leaving a lingering presence.

Doctor Strange turned to the group, his expression grim. "You heard them. We've got our mission. We need to gather the fragments of that being's essence before it reforms."

Johnny Storm ignited his flames, a look of determination on his face. "So where do we start?"

Reed activated his scanner, which was already picking up traces of energy. "The Nexus will guide us. But we'll need to be ready for anything."

Jean glanced at the others, her Phoenix Force burning just beneath the surface. "We've faced the impossible before. This time, we're going to make sure we finish the job."

Tony smiled grimly. "Alright, team. Let's go save the multiverse—again."
