I walked into the warehouse, my heart pounding in my chest. The dim lighting and eerie silence made me question my decision.
"Carusso," I called out.
He emerged from the shadows, a sly smile spreading across his face.
"Jasmine, you're brave. I'll give you that."
"I'm tired of running," I said, trying to sound confident.
Carusso chuckled.
"You think confronting me will solve anything?"
"I want to know about my father's secrets," I demanded.
Carusso's smile grew wider.
"Your mother knows more than she's letting on."
Suddenly, footsteps echoed through the warehouse.
"Expecting company?" I asked.
Carusso's expression turned cold.
"Take care of them," he ordered his men.
A group of heavily armed guards rushed toward us.
"Time to finish this," Carusso said, pulling out a gun.
I realized I was in grave danger.
"Vera, help!" I whispered into my comms device.
