"Do you think… we'll make it out of here alive?" Sarah's voice wavered, her eyes searching Alex's for reassurance. She tried to stay calm, but the fear inside her was growing.
Alex brushed a strand of her hair away gently, his face softening as he whispered, "As long as we're together, I'll fight for us, no matter what." His hand lingered on her cheek, warm against her cold skin. "I won't let anything happen to you, Sarah."
For a moment, they just stared at each other, feeling the weight of everything they had faced together. But before she could reply, Max's voice broke the moment.
"Guys, we don't have time to lose. Whatever that thing was, it's not the last of what's down here." Max's gaze shifted around, his expression tense. "We need to find the way out—fast."
Alex nodded, but his hand tightened around Sarah's. "Stay close to me," he murmured, pulling her gently as they began moving again.
