Chapter 91 - 91. Unintentional

Uchiha Tajima stepped aside curiously, allowing his nephew to take the lead. He wanted to see what strange trick his nephew had up his sleeve. After all, space-time seals required an exceptional level of talent and understanding in space-time techniques. Most shinobi wouldn't be able to grasp the basics of such techniques even after a lifetime of study.

He watched as Uchiha Gin fumbled behind him for a moment before slowly pulling out… an axe? Tajima's eyes widened in disbelief, unable to fathom where his nephew had pulled such a massive object from. Before he could question it, Gin stroked the axe with pride.

[Obsidian Cleaver]: When attacking a target, it has an armor-breaking effect.

Gin swung the massive black double-edged axe, which was wider than he was, and brought it crashing down on the weak point of the seal. The impact sent a shockwave of wind and dust spiraling through the air, causing Tajima to instinctively shut his eyes.

When the dust settled, the axe was deeply embedded in the stone coffin. However, the runes on the coffin continued to flow slowly, and they were already repairing the damage caused by the axe. The squirming symbols seemed to mock Gin's futile effort.

"Didn't break the armor, huh?"

Frowning, Gin pulled the axe out of the coffin. His strike hadn't broken the seal.

He had thought the system's enchanted item would easily shatter the seal. But instead, it had taught him a valuable lesson: even system artifacts weren't all-powerful.

"Cough… cough… That weapon of yours is impressive, but space-time seals can't be broken by ordinary means," Tajima explained after the dust cleared. He had noticed that the axe Gin wielded was no ordinary weapon, but without the power of space-time, it couldn't do any real damage to the seal.

I refuse to believe that! Let's break it by force!

With renewed determination, Gin stowed away the obsidian axe and rummaged through his backpack once more. Before long, he pulled out another item.

Tajima watched in stunned silence as Gin pulled out a silver-gray short sword, crackling with lightning. It hummed with the energy of a powerful lightning-style chakra.

[Statikk Shiv]: After attacking a target three times, it deals additional lightning damage and breaks defenses.

"HAHAHA! Let's fry this thing!"

With manic laughter, Gin transformed into a crazed scientist, rapidly slashing at the seal with his electrified blade. The sound of thunder filled the pit as lightning illuminated the entire area.

Gin, now sporting sunglasses he had pulled out of nowhere, diligently continued his electrifying assault on the seal.

The runes on the coffin trembled under the barrage of lightning, but they still stubbornly clung to the seal, refusing to dissipate.

"Stop! Stop it!" Tajima shouted, covering his face to shield his eyes from the blinding flashes of light.

"What? What's wrong?" Gin paused, looking up with curiosity.

"I told you, space-time power is required to break the seal. You're just making things worse. Can't you smell the fumes?"

Reminder: Be mindful of harmful gases when performing electric welding in enclosed spaces.

"Space-time, huh?"

Gin shook his tingling hands and sheepishly put away the sword. It did seem a bit unsafe to continue this way. Lesson learned, lesson learned.

As he pondered space-time techniques, Gin rummaged through his pack once again. He had so many system-issued artifacts—surely one of them would have space-time abilities. If not, that would be a huge oversight by the system.

Cursing the system for being flashy but impractical, Gin's hand eventually brushed against something that had been forgotten. His eyes lit up as he remembered the item's description.

This time, he didn't pull out anything absurd. Tajima watched as Gin produced an odd-shaped kunai, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, something normal.

[Flying Thunder God Kunai]: The weapon used by Namikaze Minato, containing traces of space-time power. Note: It aids in comprehending space-time ninjutsu faster when equipped.

Gin had completely forgotten about this, all thanks to the flashy equipment the system had thrown at him later on. This kunai had been gathering dust ever since.

He could clearly feel the space-time energy flowing through the weapon. To his surprise, the energy in the kunai seemed to resonate with his newly evolved Byakugan, hinting at a powerful synergy between the two.

Adjusting the sunglasses on his face, Gin had already formulated a plan. Channeling his chakra, he activated his recently awakened eye technique. Hidden behind his sunglasses, his unusual eyes glowed with a mysterious power.

"Is he activating his Sharingan? Looks like he's confident this time," Tajima muttered, sensing the chakra flow in Gin's eyes. He assumed his nephew was simply using the Sharingan, as Gin hadn't kept his eye powers a secret.

Gin had entered a peculiar state. With his new eyes, he could see the space-time currents rippling around him, as if they were threads waiting to be severed by the kunai.

Focusing on the coffin, the weak points of the seal were laid bare before him. The flaw Tajima had mentioned glowed distinctly, standing out from the other nodes. That was his target.

Suppressing his excitement, Gin took a deep breath, gripped the kunai with both hands, and thrust it into the weak point.

The sound of something shattering echoed from the coffin. The runes writhed in protest as Gin's chakra, infused with space-time energy, flowed into the seal. Slowly but surely, the black runes were devoured, and they eventually faded into nothing.

With no unexpected complications, Gin finally relaxed. He closed his eyes, deactivated his eye technique, and removed his sunglasses. Grinning, he turned to Tajima.

"See, Uncle? Easy peasy! A simple little seal is no match for me."

With that, he bent down and prepared to lift the lid of the coffin, eager to finally free the girl trapped inside.

"Huh?"

Gin was perplexed. The lid wouldn't budge, even with his considerable strength. Was there another layer to the seal, perhaps left by the Sarutobi clan?

Meanwhile, inside the coffin, the girl, her face puffed up with frustration, clung to the lid with all her might, refusing to let it be opened.

"What is that idiot doing out there?"

Despite her desire for freedom, the girl swore that she'd rather remain in the coffin forever than be seen in her current state.

Her ordeal had begun when Gin first swung the massive axe.

As the blade struck the coffin, the girl had silently prayed that her would-be savior would free her.

Instead, the force of the impact had left her dizzy and disoriented. When she regained her senses, she was horrified to find that her clothes had somehow torn apart, leaving her barely covered in tatters.

Before she could react, a surge of electricity coursed through the coffin, shocking her into unconsciousness. When she came to, her hair had transformed into a frizzy mess, and her already scanty clothes were now charred remnants clinging to her body.

As she recovered, the girl's eyes glowed red with anger, swirling with tomoe and flames. She swore to the Uchiha ancestors that if she ever got out of this coffin, the person responsible for her torment would pay dearly.

When the electric barrage finally stopped, she had sighed in relief. But now, with Gin trying to open the coffin, her frustration boiled over. Instead of allowing herself to be seen in such a humiliating state, she resolved to stay hidden in the coffin.

Little did Gin know, with every attempt to free her, he was only making things worse.
