Chapter 67 - 67. You Came So Fast

"This young Uchiha has no sense of propriety, tricking and ambushing a 69-year-old senior. Is this right? No, it's not!"

In the illusory world of Tsukuyomi, Uchiha Gin, nailed to a cross, gazed out at the endless versions of Itachi's clones with a sense of resignation, like an elder lamenting the younger generation's lack of respect.

Unfortunately, Uchiha Itachi had no interest in the elder's admonishments. Instead, Itachi sped up his attacks, focusing brutal blows on Gin's lower body.

The 72 hours quickly passed, and Uchiha Gin could feel that this round of Tsukuyomi was much harsher than the previous ones—it definitely hurt more.

Collapsed on his lounge chair, panting heavily and clutching his head, Uchiha Gin still felt the intense aftereffects of Tsukuyomi. His head throbbed with pain until his system's debuff-clearing ability finally kicked in, allowing him to relax.

"The backyard has generated a new random skill: [Genjutsu: Tsukuyomi]. You've earned 10 Tsukuyomi shards."

[Tsukuyomi Shards (30/40): Collect 40 shards to fully unlock the Tsukuyomi Genjutsu technique. Mangekyō Sharingan required for use.]

He was finally close to collecting enough shards. Once he had them all, he wouldn't have to endure Itachi's Tsukuyomi attacks anymore. Daydreaming about the future, Uchiha Gin couldn't help but smile.

Straightening up, he swaggered back home. Looking at his house, which he had been living in for quite some time, he began to think.

Now that he had mastered Mokuton: Four Pillar House Technique, was it time to remodel the place? Or maybe just tear it down and build something new?

"Eh, I'll figure it out tomorrow," he yawned, feeling too lazy to think about such trivial matters. He plopped down on the couch and instantly fell asleep.

The next morning, Uchiha Gin, ever the diligent corporate worker, woke up early as usual. After a quick breakfast, he headed off to work.

Arriving at his office door, Uchiha Gin opened it, only to be surprised by the sight in front of him.

"Matawa, you're here early!"

Uchiha Matawa was sitting at Gin's desk, facing away from him. His voice sounded weary as he turned around, revealing dark circles under his eyes. His bloodshot eyes made him look as if he had unlocked the Sharingan.

"Did you work through the night?" Gin asked, noticing that Matawa didn't look well.

Lu Cha nodded and placed a blue file on the shelf behind him. "Yeah, I worked straight from yesterday until today. I haven't slept at all."

"You're truly a model employee, so dedicated to your job! I'm impressed," Gin praised, showing genuine admiration.

"Not at all. It's my honor to help you out, Lord Gin."

Wow, this guy sure knows how to flatter, thought Gin, recognizing Matawa's potential.

"Still, your health is important. Take a break now, and I'll handle the rest," Gin said righteously. After all, he wasn't a tyrant—overworking employees is unsustainable. Longevity is key!

"Uh..." Matawa glanced at the few remaining files on the desk, rolled his eyes internally, but relented. "Well, I'll leave the rest to you, then."

After Matawa left, Uchiha Gin finished the remaining tasks. Sighing with relief after filing the last document, he wiped his imaginary sweat and exclaimed, "What hard work!"

Satisfied with his efforts, Gin randomly pulled a file from the shelf. "Let's go with this one!"

The dungeon was always a good place to grind—it was filled with prisoners who had no hope of escape. Gin handed the chosen prisoner over to Uchiha Tanaka, and once Tiedan left, he and the prisoner had a "friendly" exchange.

"Host failed to unlock the skill. Earned 12 Heart Energy points. Two more battles required to unlock the Steel Heart chest reward. (Current Heart Energy: 22)."

Hearing the system's prompt, Gin patted the dust off himself, waved goodbye to the helpful prisoner, and left the dungeon early, humming a tune.

As he strolled through the Uchiha clan's compound, enjoying his rare free time, Gin scratched his curly hair, suddenly remembering yesterday's encounter with Uchiha Haru, who had advised him to have his Sharingan checked.

No time like the present, Gin thought. Today's the day!

Lately, it did feel like his vision had improved rapidly.

Following the memories of the original owner, Gin navigated through the compound until he arrived at a building far from the clan's main grounds. As Gin approached, a guard blocked his path.

"Restricted area, no entry."

"Uchiha Haru sent for me," Gin explained calmly, understanding the heightened security.

"Wait here. I'll confirm with the elder," the guard said, heading inside.

After a while, the guard returned. "Elder Haru has granted you entry."

The guard stepped aside, allowing Gin to pass. Gin thanked him and walked into the unfamiliar place.

"Uchiha Gin, right? Elder Haru sent me to guide you," a frail-looking young Uchiha said, waiting inside.

"Thanks for the help."

Following the young man through a long corridor, Gin thought to himself, No wonder they had someone fetch me—it's huge in here.

The lab's equipment looked new, clearly built in the last few years.

"Here we are. You can go in yourself; I've got other things to do," the young man said, giving Gin directions before leaving.

"Elder Haru, are you in?"

Through the crack in the office door, Gin saw a sliver of light. He knocked.

"Come in," a cold voice responded from inside.

Without hesitation, Gin pushed the door open and entered. Uchiha Haru, dressed in a white lab coat, was working intently at a desk. Not wanting to disturb him, Gin quietly observed the room.

The walls were lined with shelves holding labeled files, and a nearby display case housed countless jars filled with preserved human organs. The sight sent chills down Gin's spine.

"Gin, I didn't expect you to come so soon."

Elder Haru finally turned around, his gaze deep and penetrating.

"Of course, Elder Haru. You asked, so I came as soon as I could," Gin lied smoothly, showing no sign of guilt.

"I even stayed up all night finishing Elder Hiro's assignments just to make it today."

Haru's eyes gleamed as he remarked meaningfully, "You must be in quite a hurry, then?"
