Ruby's eyes didn't leave the ring. "I just don't want to lose him…"
Victor nodded, understanding her fear. "You won't. He's stronger than you think."
Darius ramped up his offense, launching a brutal combination of punches that forced Jack into the ropes. The referee watched closely, ready to step in, but Jack managed to dodge a critical blow and escape the onslaught.
"You're surviving, Hayes," Darius said, his tone dripping with respect and challenge. "But survival isn't enough to take my title."
Jack, catching his breath, replied with a smirk. "We'll see about that."
As the round drew to a close, Darius landed a thunderous overhand right that sent Jack sprawling to the canvas. The referee began the count as the crowd held their breath.
"ONE… TWO… THREE…"
Jack's vision blurred, his ears ringing. He could hear Ruby's voice faintly, her cries mixing with the roar of the audience.
"SEVEN… EIGHT…"
