Ruby stood by the hotel room window, staring out at the city lights. Her phone buzzed on the nearby table, but she hesitated to pick it up. It had been a long day, and she already knew who was calling.
Chapter 24 - Clash of Generations"I heard it's going to be the match of the century," Ruby said, leaning against the wall of Jack's hotel room as she scrolled through her phone. "The rookie versus the legend. It's all over the news. Everyone's hyped."
Jack sat on the edge of his bed, wrapping his hands with gauze. "Rookies don't stand a chance against legends. I've seen it too many times. They either get crushed or come out broken."
Ruby tilted her head, watching him carefully. "Sounds like you've already made up your mind."
Jack shrugged. "I've been there. Fighting someone leagues ahead of you is more about survival than winning. This kid, whoever he is, is in for a rough night."
