Jack and Aiden climbed the stairs slowly, their bodies weary from the previous battles. Jack's mind was laser-focused on reaching the top, where he hoped Lena was being held. But as they reached the seventh floor, something strange happened.
Jack opened the door, his fists ready, expecting another fierce opponent. But instead, he found… nothing.
The room was completely empty.
Jack looked around, confused. There was no opponent, no challenge, nothing but silence and an eerie stillness. On the floor in the middle of the room lay a piece of paper, folded and waiting.
Aiden stepped up behind him, his brow furrowing. "Jack, what's going on? Where's the fighter?"
Jack shrugged, just as puzzled as Aiden. He cautiously walked over to the paper and picked it up, unfolding it to reveal a note written in neat, mocking handwriting.
The note read: "I saved Lena for the best."
