Ariel lightly bit her lip. "Really? I think Callum's true love should be himself." With that, she pulled out her phone and added Callum's number to her blacklist.
Jessica had wanted to play matchmaker a little more, but when she saw Ariel's actions, she decided to keep quiet.
As she left, Ariel glanced back at the white flowers on the ground, feeling lost in thought. Was it him who had come to visit her parents' graves last night?
Half an hour later, Ariel stood outside the supermarket, frowning.
She had gone out to buy some groceries, but found that her bank account was low.
Rhysand hadn't given her any money for living expenses.
When Ariel married Rhysand, the Ocean family hadn't given her anything, and Rhysand wasn't exactly the most caring husband.
He wasn't mean, but Ariel didn't feel comfortable asking him for money.
After thinking for a bit, she called Jessica.
"Jessica, can you lend me some money?"
"What? Rhysand didn't give you any living expenses?" Jessica's voice came through the phone, sounding surprised and angry. "What kind of man is that? He's awful!"
"No, no, he gave me some money… I just, um, lost it," Ariel quickly lied.
She hadn't even asked him for the money directly, and though Rhysand had been a bit harsh, he was still kind to her.
He didn't force her to do chores or treat her like a maid. He also didn't force her into any marital relationship with him, even though he was handsome.
But Ariel wasn't interested in that.
What Ariel couldn't stop thinking about was the mysterious man who had saved her once.
"Come to the beauty salon, I'm already here," Jessica said.
After hanging up the phone, Ariel quickly got on a shared bike and headed to the beauty salon.
Soon, she arrived at the famous salon in Rain City.
This place was super popular among rich women, even though it had a very expensive membership fee.
A lot of socialites came here, mostly because of the charming male shopping guides who always sweet-talked them into spending more.
Ariel used to have a membership here before, and even though she didn't visit often, everyone in the salon knew her as the "Ocean family heiress" and treated her really nicely.
As she approached the entrance, a shopping guide blocked her path.
"Stop right there!"
Ariel looked up and recognized the guy—it was one of the male shopping guides who had always acted a little too fancy.
She let out a small sigh of relief, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal. "I need to see someone inside."
"You can't come in if you haven't paid your membership fee," the shopping guide said rudely. "This is a high-end place. If you don't have any money, don't even think about coming in."
Ariel was confused. That wasn't a rule before, and she had just seen several women who weren't members go inside without any issues.
She held back her frustration and said, "I still have some beauty cream left from before. Why can't I come in?"
"Miss Ocean, how long has it been since you paid your membership fee? You really think you can get a facial?" the guide sneered, crossing his arms. "Everyone in Rain City knows that you're broke now. You still want the treatment you used to have? It's just a waste of our time."
Ariel frowned.
This guide had come from a poor background, and out of pity, she had bought a lot of products from him just to help him earn extra commission.
She never thought he'd turn against her like this now that she wasn't as wealthy.
Not too far away, a loud and arrogant voice echoed through the air.
"Why isn't Rhysand here to pick me up? I booked a romantic dinner for tonight and told him he had to come!"
Ariel's heart tightened. She looked over at the source of the voice instinctively.
By the side of the road, a girl stood next to a white BMW, angrily shouting at the driver.
The girl had long, chestnut curls and was wrapped in a white fur shawl.
She was decked out in luxury brands, showing off her arrogant and flashy style.
Ariel's brow furrowed. She hadn't expected to see Hailey, the daughter of Eric Ocean, here.
The driver, sweating nervously, quickly responded, "Miss Hailey, Assistant Rhysand had something to do, so he sent me to pick you up instead."
