In Nora's home, an old woman walks from her bedroom to the sitting room. "Granny, you awake!" Nora says, taking her gaze off her laptop. "What do you expect, it's barely 10" her grandma replies and goes to the fridge. She takes out a bowl of ice cream and sits on the couch. She picks up the remote and turns on the television.
"What are you doing Nora?" her grandma asks her. "Asher asked me to send him the records from last week's sales. He said he isn't getting the figures right" Nora answers with her gaze fixed on her laptop. "Asher, you mean that handsome guy that works in your restaurant?" Her grandma asks.
"Granny, he doesn't work in my restaurant. It's rather the opposite, I work in his" Nora explains to her Granny. "Oh, I swapped it all!" Granny exclaims and scoops some ice cream to put in her mouth.
"Wait!" Nora yells, "You are not supposed to take that" she says and gets up from where she sits, moving towards her Grandma. She takes the bowl of ice cream from her. "The doctor said you shouldn't take sweet foods. It is going to trigger your diabetes the more" Nora explains to her Grandma who looks unconcerned.
"Look Nora, whether I eat it or not, I still have diabetes so you bring it" her grandma says stretching out her hand to take it back. "No! No!" Nora tells Granny, "We following what the doctor said : no more sweets for you. I'll make you some tea instead" Nora says and dashes into the kitchen.
Granny sits with a weird expression. "Who said I'm hungry??" she asks herself.

Xander parks at the parking lot in his house and he and Klein come out of the car. Klein doesn't even say a word. He angrily storms inside and heads straight upstairs. Xander chooses to give his friend sometime as he walks slowly inside.
Xander meets one of the maids. "Good evening Sir" the maid greets him, Mum has been asking of you. She said you told her you will be back at 6pm but you never showed up. She looks very worried" the maid tells him.
Xander shows concern, "Where is she??" he asks. "Upstairs, in her room" the maid answers. "Thanks" he says, gives her a soft pat on her shoulder and goes inside.
He knocks on her door. "Come in!" his mum replies. He slowly opens the door. "Xander!" she calls him and runs to hug him. He embraces her. She withdraws after some few seconds and slaps him.
"You told me you'll come home early. I made your favorite dish myself but you didn't come" she says disappointed and turns away. "I'm sorry mum, I had some business to attend to" he tries explaining. "Business that is important than family?" she asks with her back still turned towards him.
He goes closer and hugs her from behind. "You know me mum, what ever business I do is for the family" he tries convincing her. His mum smiles and holds his hand. "Yes Son, you are right" she turns back to face him, she fell for just a sentence. "Go shower and come downstairs. I'll serve you guys" she tells him.
"Alright mum, we won't take long" he tells her, kisses her in the cheek and leaves the room.

Nora comes from the kitchen with a hoot cup of tea, blowing it to try making it a bit cool. "Here you go" she says stretching it out to Granny. "I never told you I was hungry" her grandma tells her.
"What!" Nora exclaims with a shocked expression. "Yes!" Granny continues, "I just wanted something sweet not food, or anything liquid and hot like that tea" she adds, indirectly insulting Nora's tea.
Nora still holds the tea, "So you won't take it?" she asks Granny. "I didn't say I won't take it either, did I?" Granny asks rhetorically, "Come, bring it" she tells Nora. Nora hands over the tea to her grandma. "You are really difficult Granny" Nora says as she handed it over.
"I have to finish Asher's work" Nora returns back to her seat.
"Oh you reminded me" her grandma starts to talk after the first sip, "That Asher guy is handsome isn't he? You might consider....."
"Granny!" Nora interrupts her. "Don't say it" Nora warns her. "Why shouldn't I?" Granny asks. "Just don't say it please" Nora begs. "Okay! Promise!" Granny replies, "But you might as well consider him a boyfriend" she adds.
"You just promised Granny" Nora tells her. "Did I? Oh yes I did. But I didn't promise not to say it. The promise was meant to say it, not not to say it" Granny tells her.
"Okay Granny, thanks for your help. Now please give me some space to concentrate" Nora pleads. "Okay, once you are ready to...."
"Granny!" Nora intercepts again. "What?" Granny asks pretending not to know why, "Take him as a boyfriend" she finishes off. Nora gets pissed.
She thinks for a second. "Granny, I'm black. No one likes black girls" she tells her grandma who almost choked when she heard this.
"No one what?!!" Her grandma asks. "Yes grandma, they insult me at work, that I'm black" Nora tells her grandma.
"Nora, black is beauty. That's all I can say" he grandma tells her and takes the last sip. She drops the empty cup on the table and gets up. "Finish your work Nora" she tells her and goes to bed.
Nora sighs in relief when she was out of sight. "Of course people like black girls!" she yells in her thoughts. "Good work Nora, you sent her to bed early" she thought again and focused back on her work. "Early to bed is early to rise!" Nora says a bit loudly and continues working.

"Klein" Xander calls him when he enters his room, "Pull yourself together. She took his side and you can't do anything about that. She probably loves him" Xander says.
"She doesn't" Klein says without even looking at Xander, "she rather hates me" he tells him. "What do you mean?" Xander asks with curiosity.
"When we kids, she didn't like me for any tangible reason. Later, that dislike turned to like. Recently, I saw some changes, she started to dislike me again. I thought fighting for her would help but, it worsened the case" Klein tells Xander.
"Or, she really likes him" Klein adds.
