Matt cleared his throat as soon as he realized that what he did was covering his boss' wife. Kendrick threew all sorts of dirty looks at him. He still hasn't realized that someone was behind him.
While Kendrick's intense gaze was still working on Matt, several clicking sounds became audible and nearer to Kendrick. Is that Zephyrine? He wondered in his mind, but who could it be if not Zephyrine. He responded again in his mind.
He tilted his head to the other side and he met Zephyrine's goddess side instantly. But was blown away exactly how Matt was. What the heck!
Kendrick's eyes widened in astonishment, his eyebrows shooting up like two inverted crescents. His mouth hung agape, frozen in a silent "O" of surprise. The intense gaze he had directed at Matt just moments before now seemed comically misplaced, as if his entire being had been short-circuited by Zephyrine's sudden appearance.
