Chapter 87: The Nexus Assault
Valen stood at the center of his quarters, the weight of Lian's revelation pressing down like a stormcloud. Around him, the tension was palpable. Kael paced near the door, his frustration evident in every sharp movement. Aylara leaned against the wall, her saffron eyes fixed on Lian, who sat in a chair, his head bowed in shame.
"The ward nexus," Valen said, breaking the silence. "That's where they'll strike next. If they succeed, the seals won't just weaken—they'll break."
"And unleash the entities," Seraphine added, her voice heavy with dread.
Lian's head snapped up, his pale face marked with guilt. "I didn't want this," he said desperately. "I thought… I thought I could stall them, give you enough time to stop their plans."
Kael scoffed, crossing his arms. "And instead, you handed them the academy's most vulnerable point on a silver platter. Great job, Lian."
