Footsteps sounded behind Kayden, he turned around and looked at Wistoria walking towards him, she unfolded her arms and clapped thrice.
"Good, very good" she smiled at Kayden who looked away from her, to him this didn't feel like a victory, just a win, a mere win, he felt no pleasure in it, nor did looking at Thane's unconscious body bring him any sense of relief, he simply just felt empty.
"Why the long face, you won," Wistoria said as she stood by his side.
"It doesn't feel... right" Kayden whispered, he was right of course, this was the first time he and Thane had ever fought and what made it so painfully mundane was the reason for the fight, he wasn't even sure what it was.
Wistoria watched him for a bit before she walked away from him towards Thane who was still unconscious, she summoned water from thin air and surrounded it around Thane.
