Chapter 37 - Yonko War (Part 2)

The wind howled across the sea as Blackbeard's massive fleet surged toward Wano. Teach stood at the helm, his wide grin illuminated by the dim light of the rising sun. He had heard the rumors. Luffy was in Wano, clashing with Kaido, and he wanted in on the chaos. With his crew of monsters at his side—including the chilling Aokiji—Blackbeard felt invincible.

"Zehahaha! Looks like we're crashin' this party, boys!" Blackbeard cackled. "Ain't no way I'm missin' this!"

Behind him, his most trusted lieutenants were preparing for war: Shiryu of the Rain, holding his cursed blade ready for slaughter, Katarina Devon, who grinned sadistically. Aokiji, silent as always, leaned against the ship's railing, his icy gaze fixed ahead.

"Wano's up ahead," Aokiji muttered, his voice indifferent. "You better be ready, Teach. The kid's not the same."

Blackbeard only laughed louder, ignoring the warning.

As Blackbeard's fleet reached the shores of Wano, the deafening sounds of war echoed across the land. The battlefield was a chaotic frenzy—Luffy and Kaido clashed in the sky, their Haki tearing the heavens apart. Every blow between them shook the earth, sending shockwaves that toppled mountains. The sky darkened with the power of their clash, and lightning danced around them.

But it wasn't just Luffy and Kaido locked in combat. Below, on the battlefield, the Straw Hat Pirates were dismantling the forces of the Yonko. Zoro's swords cleaved through Kaido's men with terrifying precision, while Sora danced through Big Mom's remaining forces, her legs igniting with the flames of Diable Jambe.

Despite the overwhelming strength of Luffy's crew, Blackbeard's eyes gleamed with excitement. "It's a bloodbath… but this is what I live for!"

With a gesture, he sent his forces into battle. The chaotic clash that ensued was nothing short of apocalyptic.

The Blackbeard Pirates tore into the battlefield with ferocity. Burgess charged in first, his raw strength unmatched as he sought out Franky, eager to test his power. Their fists collided, each punch sending shockwaves across the battlefield.

Shiryu of the Rain vanished into thin air, reappearing behind Zoro with his blade poised to strike. But Zoro, now wielding Enma and Ame-no-Habakiri, sensed the assassin's intent. Their swords met in a blinding clash of steel and Haki. Shiryu's invisibility gave him an edge, but Zoro's Observation Haki kept him from being caught off guard. They danced in deadly circles, Zoro's will pushing Shiryu back, a dark grin on his face.

"This is fun," Zoro muttered, his eyes gleaming with a savage light.

The Blackbeard Pirates fought hard, but it became clear that they were no match for the Straw Hats. Usopp, now a master sniper with Observation Haki, systematically took down dozens of Blackbeard's men with lethal accuracy. One after another, Blackbeard's lieutenants were pushed to the edge.

Katarina Devon attempted to ambush Nami, using her shape-shifting powers to mimic a fallen ally. But Nami, with Zeus at her side and her Observation Haki finely tuned, saw through the ruse instantly. A storm of lightning struck Devon before she could even make a move, leaving her charred and beaten.

"Did you think you could fool me?" Nami smirked.

Each member of the Straw Hat crew had evolved into a monster in their own right. Brook unleashed a chilling attack, his ice sword freezing dozens of Blackbeard's forces in their tracks. Sora moved with deadly precision, the blue flames of her Azure Fury incinerating any foe that dared approach.

Up in the sky, Luffy and Kaido continued their cataclysmic battle, but Blackbeard's commanders thought they could make a difference. One by one, they tried to interfere with Luffy's fight. They were met with a ruthless, cold-blooded response.

Shiryu was the first. Using his invisibility, he attempted to strike from the shadows. But Luffy's Observation Haki was far superior. With one strike, infused with the power of his Thunder God Indra form, Luffy electrocuted Shiryu, sending him crashing to the ground, twitching in agony.

Katarina Devon tried to escape, but Luffy's cold eyes found her. A single blast of plasma vaporized her before she could run.

One by one, Blackbeard's commanders fell. Luffy barely broke a sweat. His focus was on Kaido, but anyone who dared interrupt was dispatched with brutal efficiency.

As the battle raged below, the clash between Kaido and Luffy reached new heights. Kaido transformed into his massive dragon form, roaring as his fire breath scorched the battlefield. But Luffy, now fully embracing his Thunder God Indra powers, was faster than lightning.

Luffy moved faster than the eye could follow, his fists crackling with thunder and plasma as he battered Kaido's massive form. Every punch landed with devastating force, causing Kaido to roar in pain. But Kaido was no weakling. He swung his massive club, infused with Conqueror's Haki, at Luffy, but Luffy's reflexes were unparalleled.

As their Haki clashed, it created shockwaves that shattered the land below. The ground split, and the very air seemed to tear apart as their auras collided.

The air was thick with anticipation in Wano as the forces loyal to Kozuki Oden prepared for their final stand against Kaido and Orochi. The samurai who had trained under Oden stood ready, swords drawn, their wills sharpened like their blades. Kinemon, Kanjuro, and the others rallied their forces, standing tall and proud as warriors who had waited decades for this moment. Around them, the Kozuki crest flew high, a symbol of hope for Wano's people.

Luffy's crew, scattered among the samurai ranks, readied themselves for the imminent clash. Zoro stood near the front, the weight of Enma and Ame-no-Habakiri familiar in his hands. Sanji—no, Sora—burned with a fierce resolve, flames licking at her feet as she prepared for battle. Luffy himself was strategizing with Kinemon and the rest of the leaders.

For the first time in a long while, there was hope.

Kinemon's voice broke the quiet hum of preparation. "We fight today for Lord Oden and the future of Wano! Together, we will reclaim what was lost!"

His words were met with a resounding cheer from the assembled forces, their confidence bolstered by the presence of the Straw Hats. But there, at the edge of the gathered warriors, Kanjuro stood, his face hidden beneath the shadows of his wide-brimmed hat.

Kinemon turned to his longtime friend. "Kanjuro, you've always been a brother to me. Today, we bring an end to Kaido's reign."

Kanjuro's response was delayed, his eyes narrowing slightly. The moment lingered a beat too long, but no one noticed—not yet.

It was when the forces began to march toward Onigashima, when victory seemed within reach, that the atmosphere shifted. As they moved, Kanjuro fell back slightly, his steps slower, more deliberate. Kinemon noticed and called out.

"Kanjuro, keep up!"

But Kanjuro did not respond. Instead, he came to a stop, and then he spoke, his voice carrying a venom none had ever heard from him before.

"There is something you should know, Kinemon."

The suddenness of the statement made Kinemon and the other samurai pause. All eyes turned toward Kanjuro. Kinemon's brows furrowed in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Kanjuro raised his head, revealing a smile far too twisted, far too sinister for the man they thought they knew.

"I've played my part well, haven't I?" Kanjuro's tone dripped with mockery. "All these years, deceiving you fools. You really thought I was one of you?"

The blood drained from Kinemon's face. The other samurai exchanged shocked glances. Zoro's hand tightened around his sword, his instincts screaming that something was terribly wrong.

"Kanjuro... what are you saying?" Kinemon asked, his voice shaking with disbelief.

"I am no vassal of Kozuki Oden. I never was." Kanjuro's smile widened, twisted with cruel glee. "I have been Orochi's spy from the very beginning. Every move you've made, every plan you've hatched—I've fed it all to Orochi. You were nothing more than puppets, dancing to my tune."

The revelation hit like a thunderclap.

Kinemon staggered back as if physically struck, his sword slipping from his hand. "No... no, that can't be..."

Zoro, ever quick to act, drew his swords, ready to strike, but Kinemon held up a trembling hand. "Wait... please... let me..."

But Kanjuro was not done. "Do you honestly think you could have survived all these years without someone tipping Orochi off? I led you right into every trap. I led you to your defeat."

A stunned silence fell over the battlefield, the hope and camaraderie that had filled the air moments before now poisoned by the revelation. Luffy's crew, standing by, exchanged glances. Nami covered her mouth in shock, while Robin's expression darkened. Usopp's hands shook as he realized just how deep this betrayal ran.

Luffy, however, was silent, his eyes locked onto Kanjuro. His hands clenched into fists at his sides, the anger boiling within him visible in the aura crackling around his body.

"Kanjuro... you bastard..." Kinemon whispered, tears welling in his eyes. "We trusted you... Oden trusted you!"

Kanjuro's laughter echoed through the battlefield. "Trust is such a fragile thing, Kinemon. But don't worry—this is where it all ends for you and the Kozuki clan."

At that moment, the samurai army surged forward, ready to tear Kanjuro apart, but Kinemon stopped them with a raised hand. His voice, though shaky, was resolute.

"I will deal with him."

Kinemon picked up his sword, the weight of betrayal hanging heavy in the air. The other samurai backed off, their hearts torn between loyalty to their friend and the bitter truth of his treachery. Tears streamed down Kinemon's face as he stepped forward, his blade trembling in his hands.

"You... you were our brother!" Kinemon cried, his voice filled with anguish. "How could you betray us like this?"

Kanjuro's expression remained cold, unmoved. "This is the end of the Kozuki clan. But I'll make sure you die with honor, Kinemon."

Kinemon's grip tightened on his sword as he lunged toward Kanjuro, but the pain of betrayal weighed heavily on his soul. The clash of their blades rang out across the battlefield, but the emotional toll was evident in every strike. Kinemon's movements were sluggish, his heart no longer fully in the fight.

The Straw Hats watched, the tension building with every passing second. Luffy, still silent, stared at Kanjuro with icy determination. This betrayal, this treachery... it had ignited a fire within him, and when the time came, Kanjuro would pay.

Blackbeard, standing on the sidelines, watched the fight with wide eyes. The confidence he had once felt began to fade. Luffy wasn't the same boy he had once known. He had become something far more terrifying.

Teach's grip tightened around the hilt of his sword. "This… this is insane! No one should have this much power!" he growled.

But Luffy wasn't done. With a final roar, he unleashed a devastating attack, combining his More More Fruit's amplification with his Thunder God powers. His fist, crackling with plasma and Haki, slammed into Kaido's chest, sending the Yonko crashing into the ground below.

The battlefield went silent.

Kaido, the strongest creature in the world, lay defeated, his massive form twitching as he struggled to rise.

Luffy descended from the sky, his eyes cold and ruthless. The battlefield was his. He had crushed Kaido, dismantled Blackbeard's forces, and reduced the two Yonko's hopes to ashes.

"We're taking everything," Luffy declared, his voice carrying across the battlefield. "Kaido, Blackbeard, it doesn't matter who stands in our way. The Straw Hats will rule the seas."

And with that, Luffy turned his attention back to the battlefield, where his crew continued to decimate their enemies.

The endgame had begun.

The battle on Wano raged on, but it was clear—the era of the Yonko was over. Luffy had set his sights on the throne, and nothing would stop him now.

AN: Hope this chapter isn't too difficult to read, I wrote one part of it on another day, so I could've mixed things up a little, sorry if I did.
