Eryndor followed the path indicated by his pendant, which led him through a winding trail of stone and gravel. The trail was lined with tall trees, their branches stretching up towards the sky like nature's own cathedral. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the soft chirping of birds.
As he walked, the trees began to thin out, and Eryndor caught sight of a large, open field in the distance. The field was covered in a thick layer of grass, and several large stones and logs were scattered about. In the center of the field was a large, wooden pavilion with a thatched roof.
The pavilion was surrounded by a group of students, all of whom were dressed in the standard Eridorian Academy of Magic uniform. They were chatting and laughing, and Eryndor could see that they were all gathered around a tall, muscular man with a thick beard and a scar above his left eyebrow.
The tall, muscular man stood at the center of the group, his presence commanding attention. He was dressed in a simple tunic and leggings, made of a sturdy material that seemed to be a blend of leather and fabric. The tunic was a deep, rich brown, and the leggings were a slightly lighter shade, with a subtle sheen that suggested they were made of a high-quality material.
The man's beard was thick and well-groomed, with a few streaks of gray that suggested he was a seasoned veteran of the magical arts. His eyes were a piercing blue, with a sharp, intelligent glint that seemed to bore into those he looked at. A scar above his left eyebrow added a touch of ruggedness to his features, and his nose was slightly crooked, as if it had been broken at least once.
Despite his rugged appearance, the man exuded an air of confidence and authority. He stood tall, his shoulders back and his chest out, and his voice was deep and commanding as he spoke to the students gathered around him.
"I am Instructor Thrain," he said, his voice ringing out in all directions. "And I will be teaching you the art of Physical Magic and Combat. This is not a class for the faint of heart, so I warn you now: if you are not prepared to push yourself to your limits, then you may as well leave now."
The students looked at each other nervously, but Eryndor could see the excitement in their eyes. They were eager to learn, and they were willing to do whatever it took to master the magical arts.
Instructor Thrain's eyes swept the group, his gaze lingering on each student in turn. When his eyes met Eryndor's, he nodded slightly, as if acknowledging his presence.
Standing on the podium Instructor Thrain said. " I trust you've all taken a good rest yesterday, right? After training, rest is crucial. Even though the body grows stronger the more it is trained, if pushed too hard, it can break "
Instructor Thrain wore a stern expression.
" In that regard , our first lesson will be physical training . I won't accept any excuses about focusing on academic studies or having weak stamina"
His tone was firm and left no room for negotiation, Eryndor sighed internally.
" Most importantly , mana is at its purest after dawn. If you pratice mana control after morning training , you can obtain more refined mana."
Instructor Thrain concluded with a smile.
"Now , everyone change into your gym clothes and gather here in 10 minutes "
The students quickly dispersed, heading to the nearby changing rooms to change into their gym clothes. Eryndor followed suit, changing into a simple white tunic and leggings.
As he emerged from the changing room, he saw the other students gathering near the pavilion, all dressed in their gym clothes.
The students were gathered in a neat and orderly line, standing in rows of five with their feet shoulder-width apart and their hands clasped behind their backs. The rows were spaced evenly apart, with a small gap between each row to allow for easy movement.
The students stood at attention, their eyes fixed on Instructor Thrain as he began to speak. The rows were perfectly straight, with each student aligned with the one next to them. The students' uniforms were immaculate, with every button and seam perfectly in place.
Instructor Thrain was standing at the center, his eyes scanning the group to ensure everyone was present, his gaze lingering on each face as he began to speak
"Attention everyone "
" I'm aware that some of you might be disgruntled by the morning training. But remember , as mages , even such concerns could be a luxury in the future. The more sweat you shed now, the less blood you'll lose in the future."
Instructor glanced over us before continuing.
"Although we're skipping it today , starting from tomorrow , be here by 5 a.m. sharp. From now on, you will train tirelessly from dawn."
Even though Eryndor recognized the significance of physical training , Instructor Thrain's words sounded nothing short of daunting to him.
" All mages are to receive this bracelet."
Instructor Thrain summoned students on the podium and distributed the bracelets.
To the naked eye, these bracelets might appear commonplace , but they were enchanted to emulate the effect of sandbag , each one weighing over 30 kg.
Kaiden not satisfied with just wearing on each arm, strapped them onto his legs as well, maximizing the weight for his training,. His resilience was truly exceptional.
"Alright, let's get started. " Instructor Thrain said, his voice firm and commanding." Now, we'll start with a light jog"
With that , Instructor Thrain led the way, initiating the run .
I was trying to create a peaceful and serene atmosphere, but I didn't think about the fact that the story is set in an academy. Birds chirping and singing might not be the most likely sounds to hear in an academic setting.
Let me try to revise the scene to make it more fitting for an academy:
The morning sun cast a warm glow over the academy's grounds as the students gathered at the starting line. The air was crisp and cool, with a hint of dew still lingering on the grass. The only sound was the soft murmur of conversation among the students and the distant clang of equipment being set up for the day's training.
Instructor Thrain stood at the front, his eyes scanning the group with a keen gaze. "Alright, let's get started," he said, his voice firm and commanding. "Today's training will focus on building your endurance and stamina. We'll be jogging for the next hour, and I expect to see every single one of you giving it your all."
The students nodded, their faces set in determined expressions. They were a mix of emotions, some looking excited and eager, while others looked nervous and apprehensive.
As Instructor Thrain gave the signal, the students took off, their feet pounding the earth in unison. The sound was like thunder, shaking the ground beneath their feet.
Eryndor was among them, his heart pounding in his chest as he jogged alongside the others. The cool morning air rushed past him, invigorating his senses and filling him with a sense of energy and vitality.
The academy's grounds were well-manicured, with neatly trimmed lawns and perfectly aligned pathways. The buildings loomed in the background, their stone facades gleaming in the morning light.
As they jogged, the students began to spread out, some falling behind while others surged ahead. Eryndor was among the latter, his legs pumping in a smooth, efficient motion as he devoured the distance.
Kaiden was jogging alongside him, his face set in a determined expression. He was a picture of endurance, his body seemingly impervious to the exertion.
The other students were not faring as well. Some were already beginning to struggle, their breathing growing more labored as the jog wore on. Others were starting to fall behind, their legs aching from the exertion.
But Eryndor and Kaiden were not among them. They were jogging side by side, their feet pounding the earth in perfect sync. The other students were starting to take notice, their eyes fixed on the two of them in a mixture of admiration and envy.
As the jog continued, the students began to tire, their breathing growing more labored and their legs aching from the exertion. But Eryndor and Kaiden remained at the front, their pace steady and unrelenting.
The morning sun beat down on them, casting a warm glow over the academy's grounds. The air was filled with the sound of panting and the pounding of feet on the earth.
Despite the exertion, Eryndor was feeling surprisingly good. His legs were aching, but he was able to push through the pain, his breathing steady and his heart pounding in his chest.
Kaiden, meanwhile, was jogging with ease, his face set in a determined expression. He was a picture of endurance, his body seemingly impervious to the exertion.
As the jog wore on, the students began to tire, their breathing growing more labored and their legs aching from the exertion. But Eryndor and Kaiden remained at the front, their pace steady and unrelenting.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Instructor Thrain called out, his voice ringing across the grounds. "Alright, that's enough! Let's take a break!"
The students collapsed to the ground, their bodies exhausted from the exertion. Eryndor and Kaiden, meanwhile, were still standing, their chests heaving with exertion but their faces set in determined expressions.
Instructor Thrain approached them, a look of approval on his face. "Well done, Eryndor and Kaiden," he said, his voice firm and commanding. "You two are doing great . Keep up the good work!"
The other students looked on, their eyes fixed on Eryndor and Kaiden in a mixture of admiration and envy. They were the stars of the show, their endurance and stamina seemingly limitless.
As the students caught their breath, Instructor Thrain began to speak, his voice ringing across the grounds. "Alright, that it for today's training and we are gonna parctice mana control"
He took out a pendent from his pocket and open a popping icon. That icon revealed itself to be a document, it showed the names and photos of students. It seems have all the information of students. Then the professor tapped on some tick option beside some students photos .
The students nodded, their faces set in determined expressions eager to prove themselves as skilled and capable mages.
Eryndor and Kaiden, meanwhile, were still standing, their chests heaving with exertion but their faces set in determined expressions.
As they caught their breath, Kaiden turned to Eryndor and said, "Hey... nice job out there."
Eryndor nodded, feeling a bit awkward. "Thanks... I guess I managed to keep up."
Kaiden smiled slightly, his eyes looking away for a moment before returning to Eryndor's face. "Yeah, you did. I'm Kaiden, by the way."
Eryndor nodded again, feeling a bit more at ease. "I'm Eryndor. We're in the same class, right?"
Kaiden nodded, his expression serious. "Yeah, I think so. I've seen you around, but we've never really talked before."
The two of them stood there for a moment, not saying anything. Eryndor felt a bit awkward, but he didn't know what to say to break the silence.
Finally, Kaiden spoke up again. "So... what do you think of the training ?"
Eryndor shrugged. "It's been okay, I guess."
The two of them stood there for a bit longer, not saying anything. Eryndor again felt like he should say something else, but he didn't know what.
A/N: why is it so hard to write a conversation?. Thanks for reading folks, if there are any mistakes let me know.
