Chapter 4.
The three squads of enemy army soldiers, wildy looked around in shock and fear, the darkness of the night made it impossible for them to see who or what was attacking them, but suddenly, a red blur dropped for the sky and bisected a soldier in half from head to crotch.
The clouds suddenly moved out of the full moon's way and let the moonlight lit up the area, the soldiers watched with wide eyes as a red bug like creature slowly stood up and glared at them.
The soldiers snapped out of it, and immediately opened fire on the bug like red creature, but to their horror, their bullets just bounced off its body with a loud clang.
Then suddenly, from the trees, a multitude of purple spines shoot out of the trees in high speed, the purple spines went through the bodies of a bunch of soldiers.
The soldiers screamed in pain as the Poison Type move melted them from inside out as they began to drop dead, this made the soldiers panic and began to shoot at the trees hoping to kill whatever had shot them.
But the bug like red creature, suddenly moved so fast that all they could see is a blur before some of the soldiers were being cut and torn apart before they could even react.
Suddenly, some kind of web suddenly wrapped around the necks of some other soldiers and then pulled them up a tree branch, the soldiers struggle to breath and suddenly fired their Rifles which ended up hitting the soldiers and their teammates.
Roger was hit in the shoulder by friendly fire from the struggling soldiers beings hanged, and dropped to the ground huffing in pain and fear, suddenly someone called out to him via radio communication "what happened! what's going on!".
Roger huffed in pain and watched as his teammates moved to cover for him, though the red blur continued to tear apart soldiers all around him, Roger reached for his radio and struggled to breath, but was still able to speak "the mission is a failure! the mission is a failure!".
Someone suddenly began to ask about the situation "what happened? a Japanese attack?".
Roger coughed up some blood and then answer the question "no! a-amidst all the confusion, we ran into operatives from other countries! and then... monsters... monsters attac-...".
What Roger just said made everyone on the other side of the radio communication panic "what are you saying!?... come in!".
But Roger was dead already, meanwhile soldiers were still being slashed, torn apart or attacked from the shadows of them trees by both Scizor and Ariados, while the Inn was protected by wards that prevented entry and noise from reaching the inside.
In fact, a few of the soldiers tried to make a run towards the Inn, but the were turned inside out by the wards, some where incinerated, other were even electrocuted until their bodies disintegrated, needless to say that the area outside the Inn was filled with screams of horror and pain.
While inside the Inn, Rean took care of Rory, as she was being affected by the battle and the deaths happening inside, Rory however was too focused on Rean to even care about what was happening outside.
Scizor glared at the soldiers that tried to get to his master and friend, the soldiers looked scared but the Bug and steel type Pokémon didn't care and moved so fast, that before the soldiers could even blink they were cut into pieces by Scizor's Fury Swipes.
Some soldiers tried to retreat, but Ariados caught them in her web and then hit them with Poison Sting, they would either die, from the highly toxic poison or from the wounds of the stings going through their bodies.
Ariados was feeling mighty excited tonight, she and her male companion, were usually in charged of making silk and help with sewing and a few other things, so they don't battle much.
But tonight her master and friend Rean called her out help, and she was very excited about it, so Ariados went all out in taking care of the fools that dared to come after the people Rean cares about.
A highly motivated giant spider like Pokémon was bad news for the enemy soldiers, since Ariados proved to be a very talented Pokémon when it came to ambush and Ninja like take downs.
One of the American soldiers growled as he took cover behind some boulders, he then told to his teammates what he could tell about the other soldier squads "they're CBP and MSS!".
His team clicked his tongue in annoyance "Russia and China are they after the same thing we are?".
The other American soldier frowned "what do we do!?".
But before his teammates could say anything, Scizor appeared behind him and then lashed out with a Double Hit, the Normal Type Move slammed against the American soldier's head and ripped out of his shoulder.
The second smash, hit the headless body in the chest and sent it flying towards the trees, the other American soldier's eyes widen in shock and he tried to backpedal away from Scizor.
But the Bug and Steel Type Pokémon blurred out of sighed and reappeared right in front of the American soldier with his pincers engulfed in Bug Type Energy and lashed out with an X-Scissor.
The attack came too fast and the American soldier was bisected into four pieced which flew apart from the force behind Scizor's attack.
Another American soldier was trying to shoot Ariados, but she was jumping around the trees in high speed and she was not even being grazed by the bullets "damn it! damn it! damn it!".
His gun run out of ammo and Ariados pounced towards the American soldier, her front legs glowing purple with Poison Type Energy, and as soon as she got close to the soldier she lashed out with a Cross Poison.
The American soldiers was barely able to throw himself to the side, but all that accomplished was Ariados cutting of his arm off from the shoulder with her Cross Poison attack.
The soldiers screamed in pain as he felt the Poison begin to eat away at his wound, he suddenly dropped on the ground and began to twitch and foam at the mouth from the poison in his body.
A few minutes later, the entire area around the Inn was clear of enemies and was now filled with blood and dead bodies all over the place, both Scizor and Ariados stood there in the middle of the area and looked around.
After they confirmed, that they cleared the area, they nodded to each other and then both disappeared back into the forest, leaving only silence, a river of blood and dismembered bodies.
Back with Taoru in the Defense Ministry, everyone had seen some of what had happend thanks to satellite vigilance, it had left everyone shocked and in silence, until one of the Comms Op ladies spoke up "G-group Alpha.. signal lost, no sign of any enemies in the area nor Pokémon... no heat sources".
Tarou sighed "what Pokémon were those? they moved so fast and stealthy, that I could barely see them...".
Ryuuzaki shook his head "I think they're called Ariados and Scizors... bug Pokémon and as you could see, very fast".
Tarou nodded and Ryuuzaki then grabbed his phone and made a call "w-we have a case 3, requesting help from Public Safety".
Nothing happened for an hour, only silence was present around the Inn, suddenly the barrier around the Inn came down, and I stepped out of the Inn, Rory was now satisfied and taking a nap, so I decided to check out what had happened.
And boy were there a lot of bodies around, I looked around as I saw, blood and body parts everywhere, not that I cared much, sure these guys were just following orders, but in the end they were still trying to kidnap three young girls to do who knows what to them.
I had no remorse for people like this, still, I needed to get rid of all these bodies, that way, Japan can denied their existence, so with a wave of my hand, I teleported all the dead bodies into the sun, gear and all.
Then with another wave, I reverse the time around the area, returning it into what it looked like three hour ago, with all of that done I called out to my Pokemon.
Both Scizor and Ariados appeared in front of me immediately, I smiled at my bug Pokémon "thanks guys, you really cleaned house, so good job".
Scizor smiled and nodded, he even seemed a bit proud, Ariados excitedly wiggled her front legs and seemed to have had a lot of fun, I chuckled and gave her a headpat.
Many would be creep out by her, because she is a giant spider, but to me, she's adorable "I'll send you guys home for now, but once again thank you ".
Both Bug Type Pokémon nodded, then they both disappeared in flashes of red light back to the Pokehome, I then walked back to the Inn, it was time to get going.
Though I felt bad for Rory, she was still taking a nap after all, I would have preferred to let her sleep, but we can't stay in the Inn any longer.
I woke up everyone and explained what had happened, everyone was of course shocked, after all, they were almost attacked while they were drunk and a sleep, that would have been a disaster.
Yōji took his phone out and checked his messages, one of them was from Tarou what sent him a warning, about the American soldiers coming their way, this confirmed what I had told them.
Not that they needed confirmation, he then checked another message and read it, he quickly spoke up with everyone "Public Safety will be here soon, but we can't wait here.
Who knows if they have more squads coming or if they prepared anything else, we have to move, so everyone! get dressed and get ready, Kuribayashi, Kuwabara, equip the Guns Rean made for us! we might need them".
Kuribayashi then walked over to Piña and Bozes and then told them "Princess Piña, Bozes-san, please change and get ready to go".
Both Piña and Bozes immediately nodded and went to get ready, meanwhile, despite looking a bit sleepy, Rory was glowing and smiling quite cheerfully.
Serafall noticed and grinned at her, she then hugged her and pulled her into her chest "looks like you got a piece of Dragon God, how was it?~".
Rory giggled and hugged Serafall "very good, tiring but very good".
Serafall laughed and nodded "now you know how hard it is to go against Rean's stamina~ we're all going to have to work hard to take him out together!".
Rory nodded and happily smiled, she was very glad she had joined Rean's harem, though she hoped everyone else was as nice as Serafall is, sure she was bit nervous but was even more excited to meet her harem sisters.
Meanwhile, while me Yoji and Kuwabara headed to our room to get our stuff, I suddenly sneezed and shook my head, Yōji noticed it and said "you good?".
I nodded "yeah, but I think someone is talking about me...".
Yōji laughed "I bet it's Serafall!".
I smiled at Yōji, more than likely, it is Serafall but I have no doubt in my mind that Rory was part of that conversation as well.
Soon after, we all left the Inn, though Yōji, Kuwabara and Kuribayashi were rather tense and very alert at everything around us, but I still kept a eye over everything with Aura Sense to make sure we wouldn't get caught by surprise.
Kuwabara suddenly sighed "all we done lately us run".
Yōji sighed "some vacation this is...".
Serafall giggled "speak for yourself~ I'm having a blast!".
Yōji just deadpanned at Serafall but she ignored him like a champ, Kuribayashi then said "I'm just glad the Defense Ministry has ownership of that Inn.
Who knows what would have happened if we'd decided to go to a normal Inn".
Yōji nodded "yeah".
Everyone suddenly stopped when they caught sight of a van all by itself by the road, Kuwabara frowned "Captain, forward".
Yōji nodded as he already had seen the Van, I then spoke up "there's only one person inside".
Yōji nodded, and then turned to look at Kuribayashi, she smiled understanding what Yōji wanted, so she quickly took out the Pistol I gave her and slowly and silently made her way to the Van.
She soon arrived under the driver's window and slowly got up, she then immediately pulled the trigger on her gun and fired the gun on the Painful knock out setting.
The American Soldier was then hit by a Zap Cannon enchanted to only hit the nervous system, the guy could only open his eye and mouth in a silent scream as his nerves were electrocuted until he finally passed out.
Kuribayashi excitedly smiled already liking the gun, she then pulled out the unconscious soldier out the drivers seat and dumped him on the street, she then glared at him "hey, if he's a bad guys, I can kill him, right?".
Kuwabara sighed "it'll leave a bad taste in your mouth! are you still drunk?".
Serafall smiled "man, I love it when Kuribayashi get bloodthirsty! its very sexy~".
Kuribayashi blushed but still deadpanned as she stared at the unconscious American Soldier "but what do we do with him then?".
Yōji sighed and began to think on what to do, I walked up to the unconscious soldier and then blasted him with a bit of my Power of Destruction, his body was immediately turned into glowing dust "there he's dead, now let get going guys, we can keep wasting time here".
Kuwabara and Yōji gaped at me, while Kuribayashi grinned, Yōji then just shook his head and then nodded at me "Rean is right, we need to get moving".
With that said we all got into the Van and took off leaving the area, sometime after, Yōji then said "hey, let's not head straight to Ginza, they might set up an ambush".
Kuwabara look tired but nodded "but we'd be safer beyond the GATE than sticking around here".
Kuribayashi huffed in disbelieve "we'd be safer in a war zone? talk about ironic".
Piña suddenly grabbed Yōji's shoulder from her seat behind him, Yōji turned his head enough so she could see her "huh?".
Lelei then translate for Piña "lady Piña wants to know why we have to run and hide in the first place".
Yōji looked down, while Kuribayashi nodded in agreement "that's right! I want to know, too! we can fight back and with Rean and Serafall with us I bet we can take the enemy down easily".
Yōji looked down and seemed rather unsure, Kuribayashi then growled "Captain! tell us, please! what's going on? Captain!".
Yōji looked to be very hesitant to explain, so I decided to do so for him "Japan can't make, any overtly moves against other countries right now, especially against the United States, they have dirt on some of the members of the government.
Things that would make Japan lose quite a bit of face, they really did the Prime Minister dirty with that and forced him to not intervene with their agents".
Yōji turned his head towards me and gaped "Rean? how do you know all of that?".
I just grinned and him "I had Frosslass follow you when we separated earlier in the day, she then followed the Defense Minister and kept an eye on everything that was going on.
That's how I knew, that the SFG left the area and were called back, so I sent Scizor and Ariados to kill all the enemy soldiers".
Yōji gaped at me but then sighed "I wasn't too sure about what was happening, but I had an idea... especially because the Defense Minister tried to warn me about what was happening with a text.
But to think that was, what was going on behind the scenes? man...".
Kuribayashi narrowed her eyes "I did think they were being to bold to attack like that..." She suddenly turned her head towards me "how many soldiers? and from where?".
I tilted my head as I thought about the number of soldiers Scizor and Ariados dealt with, I wasn't sure of the exact number, since Rory had all my attention at the time.
But I had a vague idea of the number "around 40 something, but that's not counting the ones the SFG took care of, as for what countries were involved... well there was the United States, Russia and China.
But I don't know about the ones the SFG dealt with, there might have been some other countries among those that I don't know about".
Kuribayashi frowned "this is ridiculous... all those soldiers for three girls?".
I nodded "more than likely, they were being cautious, we did reveal quite a bit of the girl's abilities during the Diet Meeting".
Kuribayashi nodded and then sighed, meanwhile everyone just stayed silent as they though about everything I just told them.
Piña then suddenly raised her hand " for a second there, I though I was sold out...".
Yōji turned his head towards Piña and shook his head "no, that would have been impossible, no one knew you were coming to Japan".
Piña hummed and then nodded "yeah, but in the span of a day or two, we've changed vehicles and destinations several times and then I hear there was an attack at the Inn, you can't blame for thinking that.
After all, we're here to mediate negotiations between a Country called Japan and the Empire, in other words, were here for peace talks... it's not hard to think that some other fanction doesn't want that.
But with what Rean just told us, I believe there's something bigger going on".
Yōji sighed, I then shrugged and decided to explain "it's not something so over complicated, these other Countries want control of the GATE and access to the Special Region.
They want information or something to get the upper hand, hence, why they're trying to get the girls, but in the end, all of this is being done with greed in their mind.
Trust me, those other Countries won't be as mellow and friendly as the JSDF has been with the Special Region and it's people".
That made Piña and the girls from the Special Region feel nervous and anxious, they were certainly glad that they were being protected right now.
Meanwhile, the President of the United States, was currently having a conversation with one of his agents via laptop "let me get this straight, not only did you force us to play an extremely valuable political card, you also lost an entire paramilitary team, without securing even a single visitor to show for it?".
The man listening to the President immediately responded with "the report says they encountered agents from another country and... and monsters".
The President scowled "this is not the time for excuses, don't you realize that, Graham?".
Graham sighed and then nodded "yes, I promise I'll secure the visitors, Mr President...".
Back with Yōji and the group.
Everyone decided to stop at a rest stop and get some drinks and something to snack on, Serafall went with the girls, to show them how to use the vending machines.
Lelei got a coffee can and was very surprised and awed of the fact that it was warm "ah, it's warm".
Tuka was also very excited "you just hit a button, and it comes out!".
Serafall hugged Tuka and smiled "you so adorable when you get excited Tuka?".
Tuka just blushed but smiled nonetheless, Rory also picked something and then grabbed her canned drink "hm~ I wonder how it works".
Lelei shook her head "I don't know... but there was one in the JSDF base at Alnus, too".
Serafall giggled and then softly smiled at the girls, she really liked when they looked so cute being all curious with everything new they see, she's going to have to ask Rean to get some vending machines for the refugee camp now.
Meanwhile inside the Van, everyone else was watching the girls have fun, Risa suddenly hummed and looked up "a forest fairy, a dark demigod and a brilliant mage... sounds like the line up of an epic RPG game!".
I chuckled because, Risa had a very good point, while Yōji just sighed and nodded as well , Risa then decided ask "Yōji, which do you like best?".
Yōji just tried to ignore the question, which to be fair, was a landmine no man ever wanted to step on but Risa was not going to let Yōji ignore her "I'd guess the Elf, based on looks".
Yōji just huffed and tiredly responded with a "yeah".
Risa however, did not let Yōji's attitude stopped her "personality wise, the black goth girl".
Yōji just looked out the window and said "yeah".
Risa just kept going, hoping to catch Yōji lacking "and the blue haired one makes you want to protect her, maybe?".
Yōji just sighed "you sure know me".
Risa just shrugged "how many years have we been together?" Risa then hit Yōji on the ribs with her fist, causing him to yelp in pain, which made me chuckle a bit, she had a wicked hook for sure.
Both Kuwabara and Kuribayashi just exchange a and and a quietly smiled, I think they felt a bit awkward but still found the whole thing funny.
Serafall and the girls soon came back, with all kinds of drinks and snacks for everyone, Risa smiled and opend the Van's door for them "welcome back".
Tuka cheerfully smiled and then gave Risa a drink "here you go~".
Risa and Kuribayashi smiled and said at the same time "oh, thanks!".
Though once Risa saw the drink they got her, she jusy stared at the can in disbelieve, I leaned over a bit and took a look "sweet red bean soup with mochi?...".
Risa nervously smiled "why red bean soup?".
Tuka excitedly answered "we chose what looked most delicious! how did we do?".
Risa awkwardly answered "your not wrong... hey Serafall? why didn't you stopped them?".
Serafall shrugged and pointed at Tuka, who was brightly smiling, in fact she seemed very happy right now "you try and say no to that face".
Risa sweatdropped but nodded, she knew very well that she wouldn't be able to say no to Tuka while she was looking like that.
Lelei then handed some canned drinks to Piña and Bozes "I brought you two some, too".
Piña grabbed then and nodded "thank you".
Rory then moved herself over to me and sat on my lap, I smiled at her while she handed me a drink while Serafall handed drinks to Yōji and Kuwabara who thanked her.
I grabbed the drink Rory got for me, another sweet red bean soup with mochi drink and gave her a smile "thanks Rory".
Rory just smiled and nodded at me, Yōji noticed all of this and raised an eyebrow "hm? Rory seems oddly clingy to you right now Rean? why?".
I smiled at Yōji but it was Serafall who answered the question "oh, Rory just joined the family, so she's enjoying her Rean time right now!".
Risa smiled "ah! I did noticed that Rory was glowing! you guys did something naughty~".
Rory smiled "something very naughty indeed~".
Tuka blushed getting what Risa and Rory were implying, while Lelei looked both embarrassed and curious, Kuribayashi grinned and shook her head in amusement while Serafall giggled.
Kuwabara blushed too but just continued to smile, Piña grinned at Rory, while Bozes looked very shocked right now, all the while Rory sat on my lap looking very proud for some reason.
Yōji sighed "damn it Rean! I'm both proud and jealous, you lucky bastard!".
I just shrugged and grinned at Yōji which just made him fume a bit more.
While we ate our snacks and drinks we all began to brainstorm on what to do next and how to get the girls back to the Special Region safely, eventually Yōji and Risa came up with a good plan to make use of a big crowed, in order to prevent the enemy from making any overt moves.
So after hashing out the details a bit, Risa then began, the plan, starting with publishing a big message on social media "Today at 2 PM, Rory, Tuka and Lelei are scheduled to visit the Ginza Memorial.
After that, they're going to go back to the Special Region, there might be even more surprises as well!".
With that said, Risa finished typing the announcement and then pressed Enter "okay! they took the bait!".
Kuribayashi nodded "great! now we can move around safely, I doubt they'll do anything with a whole crowd of people present there".
Yōji nodded "I also messaged the Defense Minister, he agreed to the plan, especially because Rean and Serafall are going to help as well, so Risa, how is it looking?".
Risa excitedly nodded and leaned over Kuribayashi, startling her a bit "there sure are getting excited! people loved the video of them at the Diet, after all.
They're even excited about catching a glimpse of Serafall and Rean! they're very popular right now, since it's now known that they helped during the Ginza attack.
With all of this excitement, we should be able to get a least a thousand of our 'friends', to come to try to catch a glimpse of them~".
Yōji nodded and smiled at Risa "thank you, with all those people, it'll be hard for even those agents to attack".
Risa smiled back and nodded "I'll put the same info on other sites by lunch time too".
Yōji happily smiled "I'm so glad you're here, Risa" Yōji then checked his watch and sighed "it's almost morning, huh?".
He then looked up towards the sky and watched the sun beginning to rise "it all ends today, we'll be released from this endless game of hide and seek".
The morning, at 10 Am, a big news hit the newspaper and TV news, many were right now watching the news with the report "early this morning, the world was shocked when prime Minister Motoi announced his sudden resignation after an emergency hospitalization.
The opposition party has announced his actions as irresponsible...".
While this news report was going, a young and nervous reporter was trying to interview people walking around "u-um... what do you think about Prime Minister Motoi's sudden hospitalization and subsequent resignation?".
But the young group of people she was trying to interview, didn't even know what was going on, a fact that was proven when one of them suddenly said "huh? he quit? well I don't know...".
The poor nervous reporter continued to try to ask around the people walking on the street but kept being told rude things about the situation or that they weren't interested in what was going on with the Prime Minister.
This young reporter is none other than Nanami Kuribayashi, a rookie broadcaster who also happens to be Shino Kuribayashi's sister, the very same Kuribayashi traveling with Rean, Yōji and the girls.
But poor Nanami was right now feeling pretty down and defeated, she just hasn't had any luck interviewing people today, and her nervousness was working against her as well, her camera woman suddenly began to complain to her "Kuribayashi-chan, please! get us some interesting comments".
Nanami sadly looked down "I'm sorry...".
The camera woman got frustrated and then began to yell at Nanami "huh!? I can't hear you! by interesting comments, I mean surprising comments!".
The camera woman growled at Nanami which startled her to say "okay!" but the poor rookie reporter was now trying really hard not to cry right now "I-I'm doing my best, you know!".
The camere woman just sighed and looked away from Nanami, who was on the verge of tears now, but then she noticed that people were beginning to gather all over the street "huh? what? was there some kind of event going on in Ginza?".
Nanami looked around and blinked "there are a lot more people all of a sudden".
Down the street, parked not to far away of where Nanami was standing with her crew, stood a black Van, behind it, checking his watch stood Graham, he frowned as he also noticed how people began to gather in Ginza.
He looked around and checked on all the agents in civilian clothes he brought with him, one of the agent approached him from behind and said "everyone's ready".
Graham nodded and then said "once they pass the guardhouse, it'll be hard to make a move we need to grab them right here".
The agent he's speaking to nodded and then told him some news "agents from the other nations have already been sighted nearby".
Graham clicked his tongue "this is a difficult mission, we lost our entire team in Hakone, and our card lost it's value when the Prime Minister resigned.
And don't even get me started in those reports of Monsters..." Graham turned his head towards the agent and the said "listen, our only hope is to cause a panic when they appear, and simultaneously cut the TV connections, then we grab them fast".
Suddenly, even more people began to arrived, in fact, it was way more people than Graham thought would be around, even news reporters and cameras began to arrived to the area.
It confused Graham quite a bit seeing this right now "was there an event scheduled here? there are too many people...".
It was almost 2 PM, but we were stuck in traffic close to Ginza, the traffic really slowed us down, which made Kuwabara frown and shake his head in disbelieve "were completely stuck".
Risa was nervously laughing while staring at her phone "oh, jeez... I didn't think there'd be so many~".
Piña and Bozes were all watching how many people had gathered around Ginza in surprise, Bozes was very shocked in fact "is this an army that's going to attack the Empire?".
Piña looked around in complete astonishment "where did they all come from?".
Kuribayashi tirdely sighed "what do we do now?".
Serafall grinned at everyone and then said "let's all walk there! were not that far away anyways".
Yōji nodded "yeah, that might be good idea".
Yōji then looked around and deadpanned at the cheer amount of people that showed up "but... wouldn't be too dangerous to go outside right now?".
Kuribayashi huffed and nodded in agreement "sure would".
Kuwabara also nodded, he certainly didnt like the situation either "but we won't get anywhere at this rate, what else can we do?".
Rory suddenly smiled "its okay~" she suddenly opened the Van's door and hopped down, she then stretched not caring about any of the cars around her.
Yōji panicked when he saw her do that "hey, Rory! wait!".
Rory just grinned at Yōji in response to his worry "oh, come on, nothing bad will happen and besides, Rean and Serafall won't allow anything to happen to us".
Yōji sweatdropped while Serafall and I laughed a bit at her confidence in us, sure, she was absolutely right, we won't even let anyone even touch the girls, but the way it left Yōji silent made it funny.
Rory continued to smile and then walked around the Van, she looked around for a bit and then decided to approach a young man who was checking his smartphone "hey you?".
The young man turned his head towards who had call out to him, and immediately jumped in surprise when he saw Rory walking towards him, she ignored how the young man reacted and then smiled at him "where's Ginza?".
Yōji just stared as Rory, gave zero shits about the situation and approached a stranger out of nowhere "this is bad. we don't know who's in that crow... there might be people who lost family in the Ginza incident, they might see her as an enemy".
