Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Bam!

Bang!

Clash!

"What the fuck!" Xavier exclaimed when objects flew by his head when he opened the bathroom door.

Luckily, he was fast to react. He was able to dodge each item before it hit his head. But he was amazed at her tremendous aim as the vase, a glass, and a phone crashed into the wall and landed on the floor.

Wait!

"That's my phone." He quickly knelt and picked up what remained of his mobile device. "What is wrong with you?"

He did not care about the phone. He could easily buy another one. But he was waiting for an important call. Now, he would probably miss it.

Nonetheless, he was perplexed by her behavior.

"Me?" Saige pointed to herself. "There is nothing wrong with me. But you should be asking yourself that question." She redirected the blame on him.

Of course, he was clueless to her accusation. He had no clue what she was raging about as he toweled dry his hair while moving away from the door to go to his closet.

"I don't know what is wrong with you, but I am getting dressed." He did not want to ignite the flame by adding fuel to it. He would prefer to give her time to cool off.

However, she did not seem to agree with him as she stopped him before he could go far. She grabbed his arms, forcing him to face her.

"Really? You don't know." The rage in her eyes could probably burn his fur. But he was not lying. He could not think of anything wrong he did at the moment.

"Dah!" He could not help but be sarcastic when she looked at him like he was stupid. "Honestly, I am hungry. I want to get dressed so we can eat."

He was ready to walk away, but then again, she held him back. Of course, he could effortlessly apply force to get her out of his path, but he did not want to.

Instead, he looked at her, wondering what she was blabbering about. Finally, she pointed to his wall. And it finally clicked.

"That is not my fault. You were the one who pushed all the buttons in my bathroom." He claimed, pleading his innocence in the incident.

He remembered when the blind opened to his two-way mirror when she was inside the bathroom. He knew then that she must have accidentally pressed the remote that controlled it.

He was not a creepy peeping tom, but whoever lived in his apartment before him might be. At any rate, he tried to warn her earlier.

"I asked you if you wanted help, but you said you got it. Remember?" He did. But it was not his fault if she vehemently refused.

But he was a warm-blooded male. Worse, a werewolf. He could not resist such an attractive show when it seemed freely given.

But in his defense, once he realized what happened, he quickly looked away. He tried to busy himself and distract himself with other things.

If there was someone who should complain, it was him, not her. She did not know how much pain it caused him to suppress his desire to take her right there and then.

"Damn you, Xavier! You should have said something." She grumbled as she pressed her finger toward his chest, poking them repeatedly to make her point.

"You... you invaded my privacy." She angrily emphasized, but he had enough of her tantrums.

He finally grabbed her wrist before pushing her to the nearest wall, trapping her effectively between him and the solid surface.

"I did not see anything that I have not seen before. So, let us stop with the damsel in distress act." He did not want to be rude, but he was hungry.

Frankly, her nearness, the waft of his shampoo on her hair, the scent of her natural odor, and the feel of her skin against his were not helping him with his condition.

"You are not a victim like I am not when you watch every minute I was in the shower." He pointed to the other room with his eyes before staring back at her.

The shock, or should he say the mortification, flashed before her eyes. She was as guilty as him. She could refuse to admit it, but her body told him everything he needed to hear.

"I did not..." She was ready to lie to his face, but he stopped her.

"Don't bother to deny it. We are both guilty of wanting something that we should not have." He finally admitted, seeing no point in denying it, too.

Of course, he still hated her. But he could not control how his body responded to her. He wanted to possess her. He wanted her to be his again.

Only mine!

His wolf growled inside.

"Fine! I will admit that I still find you attractive, but it doesn't mean that I will act on that attraction." She countered.

"No! I will never sleep with you ever again. I hate you. And I don't want to have anything to do with you again." She pushed her hands hard on his chest, but her futile strength was no match to his. He did not even budge.

Nevertheless, he knew he could not keep her against her will. Therefore, he reluctantly set her free. He might be a beast, but he was no monster. He would never force her to do something she did not want.

"You are free to leave if that is what you want." He pointed to the door. "I won't stop you."

"But before you leave, let me offer again my help." That stopped her from taking another step. "If you run out of options, my offer still stands."

He stepped out of her way, letting her pass. As much as he wanted her, he knew he could never keep her. However, he was also desperate to have her.

What a mess! But that was his fate.

Then, he turned away from her and walked into the closet to get some fresh clothes. But more than that, he just needed more space between them.

"But I am not yours. Not anymore. Not ever." He could hear her whispering.

"You have no right to claim me. No right at all." She continued.

"And I will never come willingly back in your arms or your bed." She swore before he heard the door open and closed.

"Never is a long time. But I can patiently wait." But he wondered if it was a promise he could keep.
