"It was a mistake," Casey snapped, her eyes flashing as she met Olivia's gaze, unflinching. The hint of defiance in her voice was unmistakable, though she fought to mask her irritation.
Olivia's sneer deepened. "Oh, of course. A mistake," she replied coldly. "Or should I believe you did it on purpose?"
Owen quickly stepped in, reaching for Olivia's hand in an attempt to calm the storm brewing between the two women, but she jerked her hand away, her glare slicing through him.
"Don't even think about touching me," she spat, her voice laced with disgust as she cast a look between him and Casey before turning on her heel to leave. Owen hesitated for only a moment before following her.
Susu, still lingering in shock, cast Casey a disapproving look before she, too, exited the room, leaving Casey standing alone, her clenched fists trembling in frustration. She swallowed down the embarrassment, her jaw tightening as she fumed.
