While Aurora greeted Asher in a friendly hug, Abigail greeted Xander with a handshake. Finally, they all settled down at their table.
"Did you two come together?" Aurora asked as two waiters came by their table to serve more glasses of champagne and a platter of sweet melon slices and some nuts.
"No, we didn't." Abigail glanced at Asher and rolled her eyes before shifting her gaze back to Aurora. "Since you didn't ask him to pick me up, he didn't. We met coincidentally at the parking lot and walked into the hall together."
Aurora shook her head as she exchanged subtle glances with Xander. She felt that her best friend was giving her a complaint right now, but she could do nothing about it.
"If you want to be treated like a queen all the time by me, you have to earn the position in my heart," Asher said, and almost immediately, the three pairs of eyes fell on him.
