Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Awakening

"You're useless". The words still haunting Kane even though 10 years has passed since he last heard them and even seen the speaker.

As the supposed heir of a Mega Corporation, you should be perfect. The way you carry yourself, your intellect and even the way you breath, all will be judged just to determine whether you really can take on the family's business.

Kane on the other hand do not have any of the qualities his father expected of him. He's too soft, he does not have the necessary savvyness and ruthlessness a supposed businessman should have. He couldn't even hurt a soul.

His father was a despicable man, he will do anything to grow his empire, not so sadly he's getting old and to keep all his hardwork in the family he had a son at the age of 70.

Due to narcissism, he believed his genes would birth a competent man capable of carrying on his legacy, so the moment he saw a soft and frail 2 year old kid, he did everything he could to right him.

In his 3rd birthday, Kane received his first and last present from his father, a cute and fluffy Green-eyed Rabbit. For a year he took care of it, fed it, brushed it, slept with it and all the fun things he could think of without hurting it, they did.

The moment his 4th birthday came around though, he was given a knife by his own father and forced to kill his Rabbit. He couldn't, none could force him, so he was tied and forced to watch it get killed instead.

The trauma that event brought still haunts Kane even 10 years later and that was just the start of his nightmares.

He was still thankful though, that even for a brief moment he experienced all that happy stuff with Bun Bun.

What Kane didn't know was, his sorrow bled through his dreams and he uttered his pet's name in his sleep, which the snow white creature he caught in his arms mistook with him actually giving it a name and making a contract with it.

At this point, Kane finally felt something weird, he asked for a lot of pillows from his butler because he wanted to replicate the feeling of hugging Bun Bun through them, however he was unsuccessful with finding the right pillow, until now.

He could feel through his chest a very soft and round pillow? It just stopped trying to stomp on his chest and break away. Wait stomp?

His eyes snapped open and immediately looked down on his chest, where a pair of green eyes stared back at him.

"Bun Bun?"

The moment the Rabbit heard it's new name again and feeling pressured to respond, it jerked one of it's two long ears to Kane. The moment the ear moved however, tears streamed down his face. It's the same way Bun Bun responded to him every time he called it.

He hugged the Rabbit tighter, which made it almost suffocate and stomp it's fluffy feet on his chest harder until it escaped, still stomping it's feet (on the bed this time) furiously.

"Oh sorry Bun Bun, I got too excited''.

Kane was taken over by excitement and happiness on getting to see his pet again. The happiness didn't last though when he remembered how it went the last time and thoughts like 'Did father bring me another Rabbit just like Bun Bun to torture me again?' started to fill his mind.

Feeling it's master suddenly panicking through their contract, the Rabbit was confused and even weirded out 'Why did I accept someone like this as a master?'.

However, as a good mannered Rabbit, it got close to Kane and put it's paws on Kane's hands.

The small fluffy paw woke him up from his panic attack, and seeing the worried Rabbit (he didn't know how he can tell, he just can) trying to comfort him, it warmed his heart, so once again, Bun Bun resigned to his fate, was squeezed in his embrace.

At this moment, wind blew through his face, which confused him and finally made him look at his surroundings. He finally saw the gloomy dark surroundings, he wasn't surprised at all, in fact this was not the first time he was left all alone by his father in the middle of somewhere just like this.

A bit weird though, except for the one healthy green tree a couple meters from him, all other trees are dead, but he couldn't see the night sky at all, there's just abyss like darkness.

He checked his bed for any supplies or food, there was none, okay that worried him a bit, the last time he was left, he had to ration 3 days worth of food and make it last a week before he was picked up and brought home by his father.

"What now? Do I have to hunt my own food? *sigh*" he couldn't understand how this would 'toughen' him up, or if his father just loves to torture him.

He looked down at Bun Bun, "luckily I have you here Bun Bun, I wouldn't be bored," he said then squeezed it's cheeks, in spite of Bun Bun's protests.

A thought then creeped into his mind, 'Why did father give me another Rabbit though? And one eerily similar to Bun Bun too'.

"Surely not." 'Does he want me to starve and be forced to eat Bun Bun?!'

The moment the realization hit him, and still having no idea how to control the contract between him and Bun Bun, unknowingly the thought was transmitted to Bun Bun, which made it recoil and jump away.

"Bun Bun? What happened?" Kane asked.

The Rabbit stomped in what seemed like anger and when Kane tried to catch it, it jumped away hurriedly.

Kane's first day in the new world unknowingly branded him as a bad master by his pet.

'What kind of master would eat his own pet? I shouldn't have contracted with this guy."
