In a lavishly decorated carriage with the Counts Caspian's emblem on the side of it. Were three nicely dressed individuals on their way to the Royal Palace…..
Mason Paul, and fidgeted with the buttons of his jacket, He's never really liked dressing up for these kinds of events, and it showed greatly. Jaden would keep scolding him, but he and Cassandra both knew that it was pointless and In itself.
Ugh!! Are we there yet?! Mason Ground impatiently.
I've told you once I told you 1000 times before. The coachman will stop when we get there. So stop throwing little tantrum already, your 20 for Pete sakes you're acting immature. Jaden kept scolding him but I doubt Mason heard a word of It.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes as much as I agreed with Jaden, I was more on Mason's level in terms of comfort if I didn't fear their Grandpa wrath I may have committed the same acts. My gown tightened in all the wrong places, and my make up was kicked on so heavy I almost look like a clown. I had to bring my own make up products and completely redo it with nothing more than a pocket mirror on the way from the manner to the palace finishing by the time we were halfway.
It would have been better if I stayed home… I thought to myself. But no Jaden and Mason had to be idiots and dragged me along. as much of a pain they were I could only hope they didn't get into too much trouble, especially with her there…
We have never officially met, but Mason hated this girl to The very core of his being. he's gone on telling me Many instances about how cruel Selfish and rude she is, the list goes on Really.
She's been horrible to him since they were children. For example, at their juniors Academy,(Sixth grade to eighth grade level) She had stolen their teachers pet. A sweet little lizard that Mason loved to feed with little insects from the garden., She had the nerve to drown the poor creature and blame it on him!
Mason is a bit Odd, But he never harm a living soul. Not yet anyway. So naturally, I don't really care for her either. Jaden says it isn't too hard to spot her, Since she loves to draw attention.
But that goes with the territory of the Dukes daughter, Her full name is Angela Ashling Briar Owlet. She's the Dukes third child and the only one obsessed with the king.
The Owlet household is Apparently, very showy even more by the madams standards so much so that they are called the sluts trying to seduce the king. Even Angela's mother is supposedly flirting daily with the young king in his 20s, Trying to match her own daughter.
Mason was going on and on constantly complaining. I laid my head back as it would take Almost half the day to arrive at the palace, I found myself drifting off to sleep with the soft bouncing of the carriage and the brothers talking.
*************************************************
We arrived at a grand castle with large stone walls and towers, beautiful open fields and gardens with flowers and lights galore. The lanterns along the Cobblestone roads we're almost magical.
The coachman pulled the carriage to a slow stop. With Jaden shaking my shoulder softly. Cassie wake up, We're here.
Already I said, rubbing my eyes.
He just smiled. Jaden told me since we're the one Of the nine houses you don't have to open the door for anyone, You have to be escorted by the staff if you are not of a certain status. I have always been wary of this rule. There are people everywhere stepping out of carriages, making me nervous.
Keep your head held high, but keep your gaze on the narrow. They'll know you don't belong here otherwise. Or so I'm told.
We step out and walk up to this huge castle, Looking at those towering stone walls made me feel ill..
I nervously fidgeted with the hem of my skirt. Mason couldn't help but notice. He passed me some of his sweets. He snuck into his trenchcoat to calm my nerves as the three of us went inside to the busy ballroom.
I can only cross my fingers and hope that nothing will go wrong…..
