"Jay, I thought I saw something in the tent just now. Can you take a look for me?"
Madelyn was a girl after all. She was still scared of the snakes, the worms, and the ants.
"Okay, Miss Davis."
Jay had a stick in his hand and looked carefully inside.
"Wow!"
Madelyn was startled by Jay's scream. Jay was holding a thumb-sized snake with its tail wrapped around his arm.
"No…"
"How dare you catch it?" Madelyn stepped back in horror.
Jay scratched the back of his head. "I grew up in the countryside. It wasn't that hard for me."
The snake was sticking out its tongue at her, and her hair stood up with fear.
"Jay, what should we do about the snake?" Looking at that smooth snake, Madelyn felt sick all over.
Jay picked up a larger rock from the ground and hit the snake hard on the head. He killed the snake in a few hits.
