Several years had passed since Luffy had left Aria and the others. During this time, he heard whispers of their plans to name their burgeoning city Braavos and erect a grand statue in his honor. They wanted Luffy to be the patron god of Braavos. At first, Luffy was dismissive. The very notion seemed to imply he would have to take on a myriad of responsibilities. However, when he learned that all he had to do was bless the city—no strenuous obligations or time-consuming duties—he happily agreed. In fact, he planned to visit them every few decades or centuries, a refreshing thought in his eternal existence.
Despite his celestial detachment, he was genuinely pleased to discover that Aria had even established a temple for him, assuming the role of the high priestess herself. Well atleast she thought about him everyday, Their connection had always run deep; Aria was someone who had been closest to him through countless millennia. She was family to him in a way few could ever understand.
With this warmth in his heart, Luffy found himself pondering something monumental, something that had been in his mind for a long time, and ever since he had left Aria he was determined to do this now, and not repeat his past again. He focused his mind, teleporting to the core of the sun—the root of his divinity lay here, amidst the blazing heat and unfathomable power. A thought had long lingered in his mind: while he himself was immortal, was it possible for him to use the grace of his divinity to grant others a semblance of immortality? Of course, it might not be true immortality, but rather a form of pseudo-immortality where one could not die of old age, yet remained vulnerable to death by other means. Additionally, he contemplated bestowing some powers upon them, making them far more difficult to kill.
Today was the day he would begin this project—granting powers to others. He had developed his own abilities to such an extent that he could easily destroy whatever he desired or heal anyone he wished. Since becoming a god, even his previous powers, like Haki, had undergone profound changes. His Observation Haki could now effortlessly cover continents and, if he concentrated hard enough, encompass the entire world. He could see clearly all the regions where the sun's light fell, and that included reflected light, meaning moonlight was counted too.
His Armament Haki had turned golden in colour, and far more destructive in nature, possessing the capability to obliterate space itself when released at full power. As for his Conqueror's Haki? Well, he had never unleashed it upon the people of this world, but he knew, deep down, that a casual release could shatter the souls of everyone around him. It had the potential to become a weapon of mass slaughter. He sensed that it could even be entangled, but no one he'd encountered was strong enough to withstand its might. Occasionally, he had felt and met with some gods, but most of them were weak, hardly worthy of comparison to the truly strong beings he had faced even in his previous life.
After nearly a year of continuous trials, Luffy finally formulated a method to grant his powers to whomever he chose. He cast the "Blessing of the Sun" which linked a person's soul with the sun, using their body as an anchor. The rays of the sun would continually shower them with it's energy, making them stronger and preventing the ravages of aging. Under the sun, they would heal at an accelerated rate and gain a heightened affinity for magic, particularly fire and light magic, of course they won't become stronger infinitely but they would definitely be much stronger than ordinary humans.
Magic had intrigued him very much at the start of his journey; he had encountered it long ago and learned various spells over the years. He could arguably be called the best magical maester in all of history, simply because he had forgotten more spells than even the strongest of them had ever learned. But, as he had come to realize, magic was far too weak compared to his divine power. Consequently, he seldom utilized it, focusing instead on his more formidable abilities.
Now, with his goal complete, he teleported in front of Aria, who was kneeling in prayer before a statue of Luffy. The moment Luffy appeared, Aria jumped in surprise, and her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Lord Luffy!" she exclaimed, her voice a melody of joy, as she rushed to embrace him.
Luffy returned the hug, ruffling her hair with an affectionate grin. "How many times have I told you not to call me 'Lord'? Just call me Luffy!" He chuckled, exasperated yet amused.
"But you're a god!" Aria defended herself, looking up at him with her earnest eyes.
"Then as a god, I order you to call me Luffy from now on! So, how's everything going?" he replied, his tone shifting to a more casual one.
"Haahhh… Sure," Aria sighed, rolling her eyes playfully. "Everything is going well, Luffy. Braavos is getting larger by the day! We had to leave the old settlement and move northward because of the more fertile soil and the massive port strait here. But the growth has accelerated greatly since we did, so everything is just great!"
Now a mature woman in her thirties, Aria stood before him, the highest authority in Braavos. Luffy nodded, a warm smile spreading across his face.
"Hmmm, it's good that everything is fine," he said. "This time I came to you to talk about something important."
Hearing the serious note in Luffy's voice, Aria's demeanor shifted as well. It was rare to see him this serious, so rare that the memories of the last time she had seen him with such seriousness flooded her mind- It was after he destroyed Valyria, perhaps that was the only time he had talked seriously with them, he would most keep on his iconic smile most of the time otherwise. She felt a hint of nervousness creep in as she looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
