After the events of the Underground Masquerade in Osaka, I continued to train with my grandfather, and I got pretty good at it. My greatest success was in swordsmanship, as Grandpa said my skills could rival his, though I've also advanced in close combat, but not that much, Saburo can still easily trample my dignity with his foot. My grandfather gave me a birthday present, a good katana from his personal collection. It was more like a ninjato, but it would be fine for me.

I thanked my grandfather, of course, and even decided what I could use it for.

The progression of my quirk wasn't as rosy, no I got stronger here too, but not as much as I had hoped. And I think I realised exactly what the problem was. Poking around the internet, I found a couple of interesting articles on quirks that confirmed my hunch.

The quirk itself can often manifest itself in a child, under the influence of severe emotional stress, and under it become much stronger. Such cases do occur when, for example, a child from an unfavourable family, can unknowingly awaken a quirk, and some, in awakening can destroy the whole house. Also, some people's abilities can grow in strength in a life-critical situation, that is, with the release of a huge amount of hormones and adrenaline.

This can be explained by the fact that the formation of superpowers is influenced not only by the organism and DNA of your relatives, but also by the mind of a person, which in any situation can form the initial direction of superpowers. For example, a child whose father can exhale a weak stream of fire, and his child, who has been abused by his peers, can unconsciously cover his body with fire for protection. Also, as a variant, abilities can be influenced by a person's soul, I am the brightest example of this. My powers come not only from my genes, but also from my soul, which was once a powerful deity...who was killed by a huge tentacle monster, thank goodness I haven't heard of or seen one in this world.

Among other things, the quirk can get stronger depending on how often it is used, for example, in sparring with my grandfather I got stronger because I used it often to avoid getting hit by the Asian Terminator's fist, but now it's not so effective because I'm stronger than my grandfather, so my body doesn't perceive it as a threat anymore. So I came up with a new way of training.

I decided to get a little crazy. Why? Well, as I said before, in a stressful and life-threatening situation, a Quirk becomes stronger, and getting into a fight with the bad guys on the streets of the city is perfect for training. And well, and help people, after all, professional heroes not only catch bandits, but also save people from fires, tsunamis, earthquakes, landslides and other disasters, and such situations can also make me become stronger.

During the day I trained, and at night I roamed all over Tokyo beating up drug addicts, robbers, burglars, rapists, and all kinds of criminals. And a lot of the gangsters had money, but I live by the principle that stealing money from a thief is not stealing, so I privatised the cash for myself. With the proceeds, I bought myself costume materials to...I don't know, show off? Yeah, I guess that's what it was for.

The costume consisted of a thick, tight-fitting blue material with metal inserts, plus lace-up boots, a metal belt and gloves, also with inserts, only in the form of side scallops, and a hooded cloak on top. I also wore a mask I'd saved from the fight club.

It's not a bad suit, but professional heroes add some upgrades to their suits for their superpowers, mine is only made of durable material, but even that can burn up from the temperature of my photon plasma. The surface temperature of the Sun is about 5000-6000 Kelvin, or about 5000 degrees Celsius, I with my magic-diluted Light can theoretically produce this temperature, which will make my clothes burn instantly, but it's only worth it if the enemy can't be defeated by conventional means. It's a good thing I have an innate resistance to high temperatures, or else I would have been fried with a crust like a grilled chicken.

By the way, in addition to wandering around at night and beating criminals, I had another hobby. I am passionately like to master all sorts of mechanisms, which is not strange, in my past life, I studied to be an engineer, so with technology and computers on you, and technology and computers here are developed quite well, even robots are there, although if you take into account that it's the twenty-second century, and people are still exploring space, it turns out the development of technology is not so good. Due to a lot of free time, in addition to training, I studied a couple of institute programmes, focusing mainly on engineering and quantum physics, as it is directly related to my power.

Since I had acquired a lot of money, I decided to build myself a pocket computer based on my newfound knowledge. I was a little surprised that this industry is still poorly developed, with people still running around with smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. It's not surprising, with the advent of superpowers, all the powers of the world have had to emphasise technology aimed at exploring quirks, and all other industries have pretty much stagnated.

So I decided to collect a small holographic wristband, though holograms are already developed and in circulation here, as a material for the body I used titanium alloy, not too expensive, and most importantly strong, and for the battery photocells. And all these materials I naturally...did not buy, but I got the information from one bargainer that trades in technologies for fads on the black market, and the goods he gets from a couple of money-hungry companies that officially know nothing about any black markets, because the law forbids to give people such technologies, except that you can trade them in cases when they are necessary for people with mutations incompatible with life. So I went to the warehouse of such a company, got everything I needed and got away.

But the wristband turned out to be good, white, with built-in hologram interface, titanium body and photocells, so I can recharge it directly from my ability.

And the most interesting thing is that through my newfangled device, I can connect to any device, including the police frequency and learn about all the nearest incidents, as they say, I will not be out of work.

By the way, just a few days later, the police received a signal that some rich businessman's house on the outskirts of Tokyo had been set on fire. I flew down there and saw a man with a burning head and a charred body pouring flames from his hands on a two-storey house.

It looks like his quirk is fire control, but looking at his roasted carcass, it's clear that he has almost no resistance to fire, but if he hasn't died from it yet, he probably has a weak healing factor.

- Will you calm down? - I was pelting the fire man with plasma projectiles, and he was pelting me with fire projectiles.

- Aah! - yelled back the burning man, because he, unlike me, was physically a little stronger than a normal person, that is, he could not dodge fireballs as masterfully as I did, so he got a great beating in the face.

It was useless to attack him with plasma, as he was completely immune to high temperatures because of his already charred body, but he didn't have much strength, so I beat him with my fists, and then tied him up and questioned him about what he was doing here. It turned out that this guy used to work for the owner of this house, and he was recently fired, so he decided to take revenge by burning down the bourgeois's house...and him too. Frankly, he had every right to get revenge, the other thing is that he broke the law and tried to kill a man, and that's bad. I'm no saint either, lynching is officially illegal, and using a quirk is illegal too, but I don't care about laws. I act according to my principles, and one of them is that if I see a person who needs help, I will help, but I am not a peacemaker, and I realise that saving all the people in the world is not possible...for an ordinary person.

By the way, here are my characteristics:

≪Status≫

HP: 2010 [502.5 per hour].

Light: 8970 [2242.5 per hour]

Characteristics:

Body: 250

Stamina: 201

Control: 278

Intelligence: 386

Magic: 310.

So far, you could say my desire to become stronger is based on my unwillingness to be reborn as a child again...nah, well, I don't want to die. It would be stupid of me to die again from the same truck or electric wire, but now, I can easily lift about ten tonnes of weight, and if I strengthen myself with light, I can lift a thousand tonnes, and I can easily hold on to a bare wire, of course it will leave me with burns, but my wounds regenerate quickly. Purely technically, in terms of strength, I can be equated now to the first ten heroes of Japan. By the way, the first place in the top of the heroes is just the Almighty, well, it's not surprising, having searched the videos with him, I concluded that he will be stronger than me in 35-40 times, which means he can develop supersonic speed and lift tens of thousands of tonnes of weight, and maybe more. The Almighty commands my respect, not because of his heroic achievements, but because of his strength. No matter what anyone says, but in human society, strength is the most important thing, and the Almighty is considered by many to be the strongest hero in history.

Some might say I'm already strong, but anyone who thinks that is an idiot. Excessive self-confidence, to good never led to good, not for nothing they say that there will always be someone stronger than you, so consider yourself the strongest, at least stupid. For example, in the network runs one extremely frightening rumour...about a villain that once almost took over the whole of Japan, managing to recruit an army of his supporters. And there's another equally frightening rumour that he could supposedly take people's quirks and give his supporters new powers if they wished.

Many believe it to be fiction, while others believe that he did exist, but was long gone when the age of heroes arrived. I would basically agree with this opinion if it weren't for one thing...During the Osaka incident, the appearance of black smoke with a hand in the Clandestine Masquerade turns out to not be the only occurrence. Later, I found out that black smoke had been spotted several times, in various parts of Japan, and around the same time people started going missing, and there were also several times emaciated people were found on the streets with missing quirks. A fool would realise that this is most likely the mysterious villain, but it's almost impossible to find him now. The appearance of black smoke and subsequent attacks suddenly stopped abruptly a year ago.

To be honest, after learning about this villain, I'm even more on my reinforcements. I don't want someone who can take away superpowers to suddenly come at me, and I can't even fight back from a trivial weakness.

- Maybe I should start taking steroids. - I asked myself, sitting on the roof and watching the air elemental raging below. - No, I didn't sign up for a jock show in the next few days, and I didn't have anyone to show off my muscles to. - I said, put on my mask and jumped down into the thick of it.

This guy seems to have developed his quirk too well, so even his body is now made of pure swirling air, like a tornado, only about the size of a man. Although, maybe his ability is so strong from birth, who knows, and to answer my questions, the evil tornado is definitely not intentional. The man-tornado now tried to catch a couple of some heroes, I ran them through the network, well, they are not very popular, and their strength is not much, so Death scattered them quietly.

The police received a call about him when he suddenly started attacking people near the shopping centre, and I just happened to be nearby and decided to deal with him.

His melee attacks didn't work on him at all, and he attacked me with mini-air tornadoes that were supposed to throw my carcass into the air, but didn't move me even a centimetre to the side. Funny enough, neither he nor I could hurt each other, but I soon figured out how to defeat him. I set it on fire with a volley of concentrated plasma, as we know fire burns easily where there is plenty of oxygen, and the evil tornado had plenty of it. Just one charge was enough and bang, he caught fire like a match, and in a couple of seconds his half-fried carcass, no longer made of air, fell to the ground. It didn't kill him, but he's not going to the hospital, but it's his own fault, if he hadn't touched the townspeople, including women and children, I would have knocked him out. By the way, I took a couple of blood samples from him, his ability to become an elemental impressed me, and it will be good to use his DNA for my modernisation, but that's just for the future.

Let the law enforcement deal with him, and I'm off to meet the sunset like a true hero...yeah.
