Chapter 32 - Going Against The Ashfords

Two days passed in a blur, with nothing but the deafening silence in my apartment to keep me company. So when Lucas called, asking to meet for dinner, I jumped at the chance. It wasn't just a casual dinner though; he wanted to discuss the divorce proceedings. That was enough to jolt me back to reality.

I arrived at the restaurant, a quiet, upscale place. The hostess smiled as she guided me to a secluded table in the back, where Lucas was already seated. He stood as I approached, a polite nod greeting me as I sat.

We wasted no time.

"After carefully examining your case," Lucas began, adjusting the papers in front of him, "there are three solid grounds for the divorce. First, infidelity—Alexander's been unfaithful, which we can prove using the paparazzi photos. Adultery is a valid reason for divorce under the law, though it can be tricky to prove unless there's clear evidence, like what we have."
