"Doctor," the Fatty said in a voice that only he and the doctor could hear.
"Mm?" Jiang Cheng looked up.
"Could you not rub the oil on your hands onto me?"
"Tsk," Jiang Cheng withdrew his now much cleaner hands from the Fatty's back.
"Come look over here!"
The voice of the biker woman rang out. She was standing beside a large wooden frame.
As they approached, they found several baskets behind the frame, each of which originally had a lid. However, the lids had been thrown on the ground, and inside the baskets were bundles of firewood.
They also found some cloth-like material in another basket.
"These should be for making torches," Jiang Cheng said, picking up a piece of cloth and analyzing it.
He selected a few suitable wooden sticks and tied the cloth to them, then indicated that they could dip them in the oil vessel.
Just like that, a torch was made.
They also found some stones beneath the vessel that could be used to start a fire.
"What's this?" The Fatty's sharp eyes caught sight of a very regular large stone standing alone by the frame.
Because the colors of the stone and the other items were similar, no one had noticed at first.
He walked over and tried to move it, but it didn't budge.
Jiang Cheng and the young man also noticed this and were about to help, but due to the angle, they couldn't get enough leverage. The three of them together actually didn't manage to do anything.
"Move aside," the little girl said from behind them.
Everyone turned to look and saw a 2-meter-tall man.
The tall man was being stared at by the three of them. His face flushed slightly, and then, taking advantage of the moment when they stepped aside, he moved forward alone.
Without much effort, the stone was shifted.
Just as the stone was moved, a strong gust of wind suddenly rushed in, blowing so hard that everyone had to squint their eyes.
The young man shielded his eyes with his hand, a knowing look on his face, as if he had expected this all along.
It turned out to be a small window, square in shape, functioning like a lookout tower.
It was facing the sea.
After all this commotion, the sky outside had gradually darkened.
Jiang Cheng and the others lit a few homemade torches, both for light and to keep warm.
It was incredibly cold here.
Unknowingly, they all gathered together.
Only the older woman sat alone in the corner, her face hidden in the darkness.
The Fatty wanted to call her over, but before he could, Jiang Cheng slapped his face, so he held back.
The temperature continued to drop, and who knew why it was so cold here.
"Should we light that thing?" the rock-climbing woman asked, her teeth chattering from the cold.
She was in great physical shape due to years of training, but even she couldn't bear the cold, let alone the others.
"Sure," Jiang Cheng was the first to agree. He kept moving his body, realizing that relying on physical endurance to tough it out in such cold wasn't realistic.
The little girl was being held in the tall man's arms, using his body heat to warm up.
The tall man took care of her like a butler.
Finally, the young master stood up, stretched a bit, then pulled out a burning torch and walked to the oil-filled vessel.
Everyone either shielded their eyes or closed them, and then a powerful flame flared up in an instant.
The room immediately lit up brightly, with almost no dark spots.
The lighthouse was lit.
Along with the bright flame, a strange fragrance filled the air.
After a long day without food or drink, the smell seemed to restore their lost energy.
"What is that smell?" the biker woman asked, greedily inhaling the scent.
The Fatty swallowed, clueless, and asked, "Could it be ambergris? I've heard it's magical."
The young master shook his head. "Ambergris doesn't smell like this, and the waxy color doesn't match either. Ambergris is usually yellow-gray, and many are even black."
As the temperature in the room rose, everyone's complexion improved.
Jiang Cheng stood up and glanced casually toward the window, and then froze in place.
Through the small square window, he saw the sea, which had been pitch black, now lit up with countless lights.
Tall and short buildings were arranged densely and orderly, with some lights moving back and forth.
There, on the sea, a city had appeared!
"How is this possible?" the biker woman pressed against the window, her face changing.
The rock-climbing woman swallowed, staring at the city on the sea, and whispered, "Could it be a mirage?"
Then, as if confirming her own words, she continued, "Mirages don't only appear in deserts, they can also happen on the sea…"
Before she finished speaking, she stopped and widened her eyes.
Because she saw some lights leaving the city and forming a long line, swaying and heading straight toward them.
Everyone understood now. The lights had been guided by the lighthouse and were now coming toward them.
But it was too late to say anything. The distance from the city to the buildings was unclear, but it definitely wasn't far.
The lights, swaying, weren't moving quickly, but they had already covered a third of the distance in this short while.
"One person stays to guard the lighthouse, and the rest go down," the little girl gave the command in the tense moment.
"I'll stay," the biker woman immediately volunteered.
The others didn't hesitate, quickly grabbed torches, and went downstairs.
Though it was said that one person would stay, in reality, two remained because the older woman didn't move at all. She didn't even approach the window to look at the city.
The reason for leaving someone behind was to keep an eye on her.
The biker woman was considerate enough not to disturb her.
Climbing the stairs took a long time, but going downstairs was much quicker. At least before the lights reached them, they managed to close the building's door together.
Then they extinguished their torches and split into groups to hide in the darkness.
Jiang Cheng and the Fatty were a team, the little girl and the tall man formed another team, and the remaining young master and rock-climbing woman formed the last.
The three teams concealed themselves in an inverted triangle formation. Jiang Cheng and the Fatty positioned themselves behind a broken stone pillar, where they could see the door through a crack.
The chaotic sounds grew louder, finally stopping at the door.
Then came the sound of knocking.
It was deep and heavy, as if a powerful force was knocking on the door.
Everyone remained perfectly still, six pairs of eyes nervously staring at the door.
"Is anyone there?"
A voice came from outside. Although it was heavy with breathing and the words were not very clear, it was definitely the voice of a person.
"We're from Blackstone Town," the voice continued. "We saw the light from the lighthouse."
