"finally rest." Haruo murmured, hand resting on his forehead as the sky turned from day to night. A gust of wind blew through, ruffling his hair as he lay cold in the middle of the field, waiting alone for the second half to begin.
As Haruo lay on the ground, a silhouette appeared in front of him. His vision blurred at first, but when he focused, he saw Kilian standing above him, hands in his pockets. Kilian bent down slightly, his gaze fixed on Haruo's weary expression.
"Hey, spring boy. Guess you were the first to finish. I thought that Russian kid would be the one to go first. I thought it was that Russian kid who was going to first." Kilian said with that same old smug smile in his face like he owns everything.
"Let me tell you something, the second half won't start for at least 2 to 3 hours." Kilian explained before snapping his fingers an a cup of tea randomly appearing his hand.
"I'm not even gonna question how you pulled that off. I just want to lay down and rest, too much has happened today." Haruo stared up at the night sky.
"First, fighting you, then the new world, randomly finding a tomb, discovering two high-ranking artifacts, and then the test on top of it all." Haruo explained like his in therapy with his hands on his stomach.
Kilian, meanwhile, sat at a table that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, sipping his tea with a satisfied grin.
"All this happened in just 10 hours or more, i forgot my sense of time cause of my body in constant regeneration from that spoiled brat and the gramps-" Haruo explained but was randomly cut off from Kilian's loud sipping.
"As i was sayin-" Haruo said, Kilian sipped his tea louder again as he sat. making Haruo angry freezing his tea as he was about to drink it.
"All this talk about stress the past day, but don't worry you'll grow out of it. besides your going to get used to it when you join a division." Kilian remarked looking at his tea and flipping upside down to see if it was fully frozen.
"I don't really wanna hear your crap. I'm not a therapist, but I am the guy that keeps them in business." Kilian smiled, raising his tea as if he were boasting about an achievement.
"You should've seen how many people I irritated last year." Kilian laughed before unfreezing his tea.
"All that aside, you must be wondering how you are getting so strong in just a short amount of time. Well ill tell you a story."
Kilian said before a chair below Haruo and Kilian merged from the ground and a white screen in front of them. The white screen the started to film in a vintage 1980's film style making Haruo invested since he didn't have anything particular to do anyways.
"Long ago... Well, not so long ago, since it was like 4 months ago. someone broke the limiter for humans. Now everyone has the potential to become a god well it wouldn't be that simple." Kilian explained, before pressing a remote that appeared out of nowhere AGAIN.
"Well the limiter of humans was actually an exaggeration they only removed the capabilities of an average human is capable off, like for example an average person is now able to destroy a whole mountain. how? well." Kilian shrugged it off.
"Ever since the awakening period the universe has been becoming denser and denser, Of course it was a slow process so everywhere was able to adapt to it. But because of this, the human or other races capabilities has been getting stronger day by day." Kilian said Haruo shaking his head following what his saying.
"In due time, the density of the universe has become exponentially stronger causing limiter of humans and races to become vulnerable. And just 4 months ago a person was able to fully remove this limiter, causing a chain reaction which made all limiters disappear." Kilian explain.
"Think of it like one of those games that doesn't have a level cap and each time you level up it gets harder to level up you following?" Kilian finished.
"Of course, me, Chiharu, Su-nae, and plenty of others broke our limiters a long time ago, way before you guys did." Kilian added, casually explaining how it all worked.
"Wait, if you and the others broke your limiters a long time ago, why didn't a chain reaction happen back then?" Haruo questioned, trying to piece it all together.
"Again, it's because the density back then wasn't strong enough to trigger a chain reaction. yeah, it's one of those things you don't necessarily need to understand, more like how it works." Kilian said.
"So, during that time when I was fighting Gramps, I broke my limiter? Also, can you lower the chair so I can lay down? My back is breaking just like Gramps earlier." Haruo said, looking at Kilian with a mix of curiosity and discomfort.
Kilian then raised his finger and quickly pointed it down, making it lower his chair really fast which made Haruo fall down cracking his back as he gasp in pain.
"Yeah, that's about it. Also earlier your ability was in a temporary awakened state, but since your body is not ready for that much power yet it didn't awaken so you'll have to wait for like 2 or less years till you can use it fully"
Kilian added placing his tea down on the table and sat beside Haruo in a chair next to him..
'Oh... that makes sense. At least I know it's not as useless as before.' Haruo thought, gazing up at the stars.
Back then, I almost froze one of my balls when I was a kid. I was with Master at the time. I wonder if my ability has ranked up or if it's still F. He shifted uncomfortably, his back not meant to be shaped like an L.
"Anyways wanna see how's Ena doing?" Kilian said with a grin his mouth.
"Meh, i don't really got something to do anyway so why not" Haruo replied before the white screen began to play in 4k.
Kilian started to open the screen, revealing a third-person view of Ena's fight. The room appeared spacious, but her expression was uneasy as the sound of blades echoed through the space.
"Wait wasn't it suppose to be the riddle test why is she doing a different test??" Haruo asked Kilian.
"In the first test is the mock test which is fighting the mannequin, the second is the team fight then the third which is all random, you see there are 6 total test before the second half." Kilian explained watching as Ena fought multiple people at once.
"The reason you only did three tests is that the one you faced was almost impossible, you were fighting the creator of the castle dimension, Ford Kenric, the royal butler. So, you managed to finish first." Kilian explained.
"You see, Kenric is the type of person who doesn't usually test people, but I guess you were one of the exceptions, just like your master, Chiharu. And since you beat his test, he made you first." Kilian said, spreading his hands as he explained.
"Looks like she's in the free for all test where she has to fight 10 people and come out as first to finish the test. And it looks like she's having a rough time, the last 3 people decided to tag team her." Kilian said pointing his finger at the screen.
Ena dodged four arrows flying at her with incredible speed, evading them just in time. However, she left her side exposed, and a girl swung her axe, severing Ena's arm in a brutal strike.
After severing Ena's arm, the girl quickly closed the distance and charged at her. To the girl's surprise, a hand suddenly pulled her hair—it was Ena's severed arm. This unexpected move left her wide open for an attack.
The girl lowered her upper body to dodge Ena's slice, then quickly placed her hands behind herself and executed a cartwheel to create distance between herself and Ena.
Ena's severed arm then flew back to her and reattached it back to her body like it never got severed. All three of her opponents then circle around her in a stance prepared to attack.
Haruo glanced at Ena's opponents, his eyes widening as he spotted a familiar face among them. It was the archer who had been his teammate during the second test.
'It's her, I didn't expect her to be that troublemaker's opponent,' Haruo thought, surprised by the matchup. He wondered how this would play out in the battle.
As Haruo watched, Kilian tossed something at his face. Understandingly pissed off, Haruo kicked him in the balls, but to his surprise, Kilian didn't react. Normally, a kick in that area would have someone doubling over, but Kilian remained unfazed, he was even smiling.
"You should look at the things people throw at you before you kick them in the balls, who knows, maybe someday that could save your life," Kilian said with a smirk. His casual tone only added to Haruo's irritation, making it hard for him to stay mad.
Haruo scoffed in disbelief as he looked at what Kilian had thrown at him—it was a replica of his skin mask. Realization hit him; he remembered he no longer had the mask and shot a glance at Kilian, who had clearly seen his face.
"It's fine; I already knew what you looked like when I first saw you, as well as Su-nae. And you don't need to know how we know," Kilian said, his smirk widening. His casual admission only added to Haruo's irritation, leaving him to wonder just how much Kilian had been keeping from him.
Haruo quickly wore the mask, his irritation still simmering. Thankfully, no one else had passed the test yet, so he wasn't as furious with Kilian for not mentioning it earlier. The mask offered him a sense of security, but the annoyance lingered as he tried to shake off the awkwardness of being exposed.
Haruo redirected his attention back to Ena, noticing she was now in an even tighter spot than before. He watched her navigate the escalating situation, wondering how she would handle this new predicament.
Ena's weapons were on the other side of the room, and her leg was chained to the floor. She was bleeding from her head as she circled her opponent, clearly in a precarious situation. The tension in the room heightened as she struggled to regain her footing and assess her options.
"Do you see the girl over there with the axe? That's Ranya Chantara; she's ranked ninth on the rankings. And if you're wondering what Ena's current rank is, it's third. The extra people there are just low-rankers."
Kilian pointed at her through the screen.
Ranya Chantara has short brown hair in a braided ponytail and determined hazel eyes. She wears light leather armor for agility, with a semi-baggy shirt tucked into rugged jeans. Her slim yet muscular build reflects her training, and she wields a large one-sided axe, showcasing her strength in combat. she seems to be almost the same height as Ena standing around 171 cm.
"She's the one Ena has to worry about the most; her ability is A / Rare ranked. She can elevate anyone to her level in terms of durability, mana, speed, and more," Kilian said, lowering his finger to Ena's heel.
"See that chain? It means she used her ability on her. Right now, her physical abilities are limited," Kilian explained, pointing at the chain binding Ena.
"And as you can see right now, Ena isn't the only one with the chain." Kilian said.
'What?' Haruo thought, confusion washing over him as he noticed the other two also restrained by chains. He then realized Ena's situation now, tension growing as Haruo watch.
"That's right; Ena is now fighting not just one but three opponents, all of them sharing the same level."
