I stood at the edge of the testing chamber, watching Lily as she hesitated in front of the large, crystalline structure.
The air buzzed with quiet tension, broken only by the faint whispers of other participants and the soft hum emanating from the crystal.
This test would determine her potential, and though Lily was trying her best to appear confident, I could see the nervous flutter in her movements.
"Don't be scared," I said, my voice steady. "Believe in yourself."
She turned to glance at me, her eyes wide but softening at my encouragement. Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward.
The instructor overseeing her test was a tall, stern-looking man clad in the academy's signature red uniform, with a sharp badge on his chest.
His piercing gaze didn't waver as he gestured toward the crystal.
