Adam approached the bound form of Lili, her head slumped forward, unconscious in her chair.
As he moved closer, he noticed every detail of her figure—her long black hair draped around her, her slender frame secured to the chair with thick ropes, and her soft, almost ethereal features veiled by the bruises and grime of captivity.
He raised a gloved hand and gave her a gentle slap on the cheek, enough to stir her from her stupor. Her blue eyes fluttered open slowly, the recognition taking a moment to dawn.
When she saw Adam standing over her, masked and clad in a dark, ominous outfit that absorbed the dim light of the room, fear flashed across her face.
Instinctively, she began to struggle, the chair scraping against the ground as she thrashed her legs.
