Chapter 23 - Battles of the Screen

After all... many of the platform's previous projects had been highly anticipated, only to end in disaster.

At the worst of times, BingeBox even set a record with eight consecutive flops.

The producers were full of hope that <> could create a miracle.

However, when the first episode of <> was just released, its view count was no different from any other show BingeBox had put out.

Usually, when BingeBox releases a new show, the first episode gets just over 100,000 views.

As more episodes are released, the earlier ones typically reach around 200,000 views.

This may not seem like a small number, but in comparison, CineHaven TV and ReelRise often have over a million views per episode, leaving BingeBox far behind.

When Gwon Seongjae entered the office, he could hear his colleagues sighing and groaning.

"We've put it on the homepage and promoted it on the platform; why isn't anyone watching?"

"Maybe it's because we rushed the release?"

"I guess we expected this. Sigh... Once this show is done, are we all going to have to look for new jobs?"

BingeBox had a good atmosphere; the boss had money and treated employees well.

But the boss's money wasn't endless, and if BingeBox kept relying on the boss's personal funds to keep going, it would eventually face closure.

"We went up against <> and <> so there was nothing we could do. Who could have guessed?"

<> was carefully scheduled to launch at the right time.

Before its release, the platform checked the schedules of CineHaven TV and ReelRise and confirmed that neither had new shows planned.

But just as <> was officially announced, CineHaven TV released three episodes of <> back to back.

Seeing this, ReelRise couldn't be left behind and quickly launched <>

Gwon Seongjae didn't think the other two platforms did this on purpose; it was probably just bad timing for BingeBox.

As one of the project leads, Gwon Seongjae felt a bit frustrated himself.

He was about to talk to Im Gi-seok, but Im Gi-seok messaged him first.

[ Stay calm. ]

[ <> is better than the others show. ]

Seeing his message, Gwon Seongjae relaxed a little, but he still couldn't feel completely at ease.

After all, Im Gi-seok had never experienced the pain of BingeBox's repeated failures, where every project flopped and the company became the laughingstock of the media.

[ Wait a bit longer, don't rush. ]

Im Giseok wasn't just comforting Gwon Seongjae for no reason.

He was also in the <> creative group chat.

After finishing his work on <> last night, he went through the group messages and learned that CineHaven TV and ReelRise had also released new series.

As the scriptwriter for <>, he naturally wanted to check out what his competitors were up to, so he watched both <> and <>
