Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Argus's Quest

Argus already cleared the first floor of the dungeon. He cleared it easily since there were only 4 to 6 undead he would face each time. Each undead possessed a blue orb so their stats is slightly higher than his. He sometimes encounter an undead that possess red orb but he also easily killed it.

'Should I gather all the undead on the second floor?'(Argus)

This idea came to Argus mind. He thinks that fighting a single party of undead has no significant effect in increasing his battle experience. If a 100 undead with diverse class will be a bit challenge to him.

Argus wants to train while clearing the dungeon, killing two birds with one stone. Additionally, he can also collect the spoils in one place easily. Argus looks at the stairs going on the second floor and began stepping down.

When he reached the floor below he sprinted to get the agro of all the undead. A party of undead saw him and it tried to surround him but he easily avoided them. The party of undead did not stop and continued pursuing him.

The movements of the undead was a bit slower than him so he slowed his pace. Another party of undead appeared again and Argus just avoided them. A few minutes later Argus looks at his back and he saw a numerous undead. An arrow would fly from time to time but he just ignored it. A smile appeared on his face.

'My plan works, huh. I just need to get neer the stairs leading down before I start the fight.'(Argus)

If anyone of the new Awakeners know what he is thinking, they will call him crazy. Argus will fight an undead that almost form a mini beast Swarm with only using his body and weapon. They will call it a suicide but for Argus it was his training.

He reached near the stairs so he stops as he looks at the coming of miniswarm of undeads. Argus feel a bit of pressure from this undead as he started to gulp unknowingly.

"Sylvan just stay here for a while. You cannot help with your current form."(Argus)

Sylvan's body began to bent at it signifies that it was sad that it cannot help its Master.

"Do not worry you can help me after you grow. For now, let met carry you in leveling. So cheer for me."(Argus)

'I will also cheer for you Master! Grr if I can just be summoned and I will annihilate them!'(Astrea)

'Well it is my quest afterall. The system will not let you interfere I guess.'(Argus)

Sylvan mood came back after that conversation and Argus began to face the undeads. The undead has no Leader class beast which will make his plan more dangerous.

Leader class beast, like a commander class Awakeners can give buff to the beast they are leading. They are dangerous since their intelligence is not different from a human. The Beast Leader can also organize and control the beast under them making the strong beast more stronger.

A Unique Leader Beast is the most frightening beast that anyone can face because of its intelligence and rich battle experience. Awakeners always hunts or tamed Unique Beast since if they became strong every race of Vesmir are afraid for their power and the beast horde they can lead.

Of course not any beast is an enemy since they are also good and bad beast or monsters.

Types of Beast/Monster:

1. Magical Beast/Monster:

Generally peaceful and only use their abilities for self-defense. They are often more passive and avoid unnecessary conflicts.

2. Ferocious Beast/Monster:

Aggressive and hostile by nature. They actively seek out confrontations and are known for their brutal and relentless attacks.

Almost all beast hordes are cause by Ferocious Beasts. Which is why from time to time Adventures and Academy/Sect will have mission about clearing this beast to prevent beast hordes from happening.

The dungeon's dim light flickered off jagged stone walls as Argus Orpheus charged into the chaotic mass of undead. His eyes burned with fierce determination, his scythe held high in a controlled, commanding grip. A hundred skeletons-swordsmen, assassins, shieldmen, archers, and spear users-stood before him in a disorganized frenzy.

"Here I come."(Argus)

The archers, positioned at the back, began their assault. Arrows flew through the air, but Argus spun his scythe with a dominating force, the blade creating a protective barrier. The spinning scythe deflected the arrows with practiced ease, the projectiles bouncing off or veering away. He used this cover to close in on the archers, his scythe slicing through them with ruthless efficiency. Each strike was deliberate and controlled, cutting through the archers with precision. As the battle continued, Argus's fierce determination shifted to a stoic, detached focus.

Sovereign's Apathy

Sovereign's Intuition

His scythe techniques evolved, with his swings becoming more refined and commanding. He executed spinning motions with an authoritative grace, the scythe's blade whirling through the air and reducing multiple enemies with each rotation. The weapon moved as an extension of his will, dominating the battlefield with its controlled fury.

A skeletal assassin lunged from the shadows, its dagger aimed at Argus's side. His intuition flared, and he twisted just enough to let the blade graze his ribs.

With a cold glare, he responded, his scythe spinning in a commanding arc that shattered the assassin's bones and sent them scattering. The scythe's controlled motion was both precise and overwhelming.

The shieldmen advanced with their shields raised haphazardly. Argus charged into their midst, spinning his scythe with authoritative force. The weapon's whirling motion cut through their shields and bones with domineering efficiency. Despite the vibrations from the shields rattling his arms, his expression remained impassive as he cut through their defenses, his scythe's control unyielding.

Swordsmen pressed in from all directions. Argus's intuition guided him to dodge and deflect their blows with calculated precision. When a spear thrust aimed at his side came too close, he sidestepped, but another spearhead cut into his leg. The sharp pain was momentary as he executed a spinning attack, the scythe's blade creating a sweeping perimeter that cut through several swordsmen, reducing their numbers with commanding force.

'Master!'(Astrea)

'I'm fine.'(Argus)

Arrows continued to rain down from the archers. One struck his shoulder with a jarring impact, but Argus's indifference masked the pain. He spun his scythe again, using its whirling motion to deflect incoming arrows while pulling the one from his shoulder. His focus remained

unwavering as he pressed forward, the scythe's controlled spins slicing through bone with authoritative precision.

The spear users attempted to flank him, their thrusts coming from different angles. Argus anticipated their moves with a commanding control, allowing some attacks to land in less vital areas while positioning himself for counteratta cks. A spear pierced his side, causing him to stagger, but he avoided more severe injuries. He spun his scythe once more, the blade creating a deadly arc that cut through the remaining spear users with both precision and dominance.

Argus stood amidst the item drops of the undead while panting, his scythe now resting beside him. The battle had been grueling, and his face, once stoic and indifferent, now showed signs of weariness. The intense use of Sovereign's Apathy and Sovereign's Intuition had taken a toll on him, leaving him exhausted both physically and mentally.

'Master! Grr I can't go out!'(Astrea)

Sylvan and Astrea began to worry about their Master's condition. His injuries were severe: deep cuts ran along his arms and legs, a spear wound in his side, and an arrow lodged in his shoulder. Blood seeped from the wounds, staining his clothes and the cave floor. The pain was a constant, throbbing reminder of the ferocity of the battle he had just endured.

Argus leaned heavily against the cold, rough dungeon wall, his breathing labored. His face, previously impassive, now displayed the strain of overexertion. The effects of Sovereign's Apathy, which had helped him remain detached and focused, began to wane. His exhaustion was palpable, the mental toll of the skill's continuous use evident in the slight tremor of his limbs and the faraway look in his eyes.

"I'm gonna rest for a bit."(Argus)

Argus lay beside Sylvan as he closed his eyes for a moment, allowing himself a brief respite. The wounds on his body ached and throbbed, but his regeneration abilities, though began to work slowly. Argus regeneration depends on his current stamina, since he was tired the regeneration of his body was also slow.
