Chapter 2 - Cecilia Brandon

A total of three hours had passed since Kai had been reincarnated, and he had been diligently observing his surroundings, taking in every detail. He still retained the memories of his past life, and he couldn't shake the feeling that the name "Brandon" sounded familiar.

[Congratulations, you have been successfully reincarnated in An Adventurer's Crusade]

A crimson screen hovered in front of his eyes, a startling realization dawning upon him: he had acquired an item that most transmigrators and reincarnators wielded—a System.

'An Adventurer's Crusade? No wonder Brandon sounded so familiar,' Kai thought, suppressing a giggle. But he quickly halted; it was meant to sound like a chuckle...

An Adventurer's Crusade, the light novel he had been obsessed with, revolved around a world called Nekura. Like most fantasy tales, it featured magic and monsters, but this world had its own unique qualities.

Nekura was home to five heavenly kingdoms, rumored to have been created from the beginning of time by five Mage gods who descended from the heavens. These kingdoms were Asura, Terra, Biora, Rolgi, and the Supreme Kingdom.

Although the five kingdoms maintained a facade of friendship, that ruse existed only for the citizens living in each realm. As an avid reader, Kai knew the darkness lurking beneath the surface.

The main character, Elijah, was born in the Asura Kingdom to a common family. He had a good childhood until he turned sixteen, when Biora Kingdom launched its first attack on Asura, crossing borders and seizing small towns along the outskirts. That act triggered the first Mage War, an event that would scar Asura for generations.

'And coincidentally, the Brandon family resides in the Asura Kingdom,' Kai thought, wishing he could be part of the Terra Kingdom. At least there, he could evade the war until the final volume. But there was no going back now; this knowledge only fueled his desire to grow stronger.

The Brandons were a noble adventurer family, although Kai was puzzled. He only remembered from the novel that they had an older son and a younger daughter.

'But the older son has a different name—he isn't Kai. If I remember correctly, it's Xavier,' he mused before shrugging, well, at least trying to shrug. 'Meh, butterfly effect.'

Kai glanced back at the screen; he had been so immersed in thought that he had forgotten to explore its contents.

The text vanished, and the crimson tab expanded.

[You have successfully been bonded with the Supreme Magus System]

'Damn yes! The Asura Magic School has all the baddies!' Kai exclaimed inwardly, a grin spreading across his face.

A Magus specialized in magic, channeling the magical energy within their bodies to cast spells capable of devastating their opponents. There were several types of magic, ranging from Fire Magic to Shadow Magic, a rare kind that only a few Magi could wield, even in the light novel.

Under normal circumstances, one couldn't attend the Institution of Magic until the age of eighteen, but with the war already underway, the age requirement was lowered. Children as young as fifteen could enroll, although they would be sent to assist other Magi on the frontlines after graduation.

The protagonist, Elijah, had earned a scholarship to the Magic Institution after revealing his ability to use Light Magic—one of the rarer forms of magic. The novel emphasized that the gods reincarnated once every thousand years.

'And surprisingly, due to plot convenience, Elijah just so happens to be the reincarnation of Asura,' Kai thought. 'The Light Magic he wields will become stronger in the future, unlocking the hidden power of the god, prompting him to become overpowered yet still not strong enough to defeat the Demon Lord.'

There was a unique feeling that came with knowing everything that transpired in the novel—a sense of omnipotence. Kai reveled in it but glanced back at the tab to confirm something.

'Supreme? Like the god Supreme?' he pondered. Supreme was the only god not known for such reincarnation; perhaps he had, but it hadn't been included in the novel.

The screen unfurled again, revealing another set of words.

[You have gained]

[Title – Reincarnator: A wandering soul from another world…]

[Title – A God's Reincarnation: You are the reincarnation of a god that has seemingly disappeared since ancient times; you are Supreme]

'Seems like Elijah's not the only one with plot armor; I still have some in reserve,' Kai thought smugly.

Supreme was an extraordinarily overpowered god who had never made an official appearance in the light novel. Myths surrounded him—he was said to wield all magical elements and could split the heavens. Kai knew that if the author had included his reincarnation in the story, that character would be so overpowered that his very existence would defy everything.

The screen unfurled yet again, presenting another series of text.

[Mission Log]

This was the basic setup for any System, and Kai understood it well. With the System, he could grow stronger. The Shop section sounded particularly enticing. However, before he could delve deeper into the System, the door of the hospital room burst open.

Kai was in his mother's arms, allowing him to see the entrance. When he caught sight of the intruder, his pupils shrank. It was a young girl, strikingly similar to an older character he had seen in the *Adventurer's Crusade* character section.

"Mom, I came here immediately," the girl said, her deep blue eyes locking onto Kai with a hint of uncertainty.

Kai recognized her—she was Cecilia Brandon!

Although she was much smaller than he had remembered, the girl was still the Cecilia Brandon with a very 'big' future if he remembered the Character art well.

He felt his throat run dry as he gazed at the girl, she was pretty and he remembered how the comment section had been abuzz with activity as soon as she was presented. Matter-of-factly, she still stood in the Top five Character lists with her popularity soaring even after so many new characters were added - That was how loyal her fans were and Kai was one of those loyal fans.
