Synopsis
I'm writing the Codex Felidae for my series Avaritian Space. The Catgirl faction is a pretty lighthearted faction amidst the grim dark galaxy. The catgirls are cat-human hybrids, bringing the best out of humans and cats. The catgirls have superhuman strength, reflexes, and agility, among other things. This is more like a scratch space for my ideas than a serious novel. I'd be glad if you enjoy it nonetheless.

Chapter 1 - Codex Felidae.

This codex is not to be construed to mean a formal chain of command by any mean.

Everyone in the catgirl faction, catgirl or not, is a sovereign individual. Catgirls are simply those chosen by the cat goddess Bastet as the guardians of liberty. They do not militarily intervene in other factions' affair, even though the rest of the galaxy is a pretty grim and dark place, save for rescuing people of their interests and preventing enemy threat. There are only a million catgirls across approximately 100 worlds, while others, like the Aldarean and the elven empire, have about 10000 worlds and trillions of soldiers. Moreover, they do not have magic save for a very rare occasion and the blessing of the cat goddess in the selection and initiation process, while the elves, for example, can control weather itself, creating giant storms to attack the enemies and so on. However, with their sheer ingenuity, they're actually the faction that managed to escape the grim darkness of the galaxy and enjoy a high living standard. Unlike other strong factions that tend to favor melee weapons, which scale with strength instead of gunpowder, the catgirls use crystal energy weapons, whose effectiveness scales with precision.

Weapons:

The catgirls have crystal machinegun, firing at 10 rounds per second, and crystal pulse rifle, firing at 1 round per second. Crystal machineguns are effective against infantry and can even disable tanks by targeting weak point. Despite being a machinegun, each shot is as precise as a sniper. Crystal pulse rifles fire at 1 round per second and is precise enough to shoot targets at the horizon.

Armors:

The catgirls typically wear layered power armors, with the first layer being anti-laser reactive armors that turn reflective when receiving the extreme heat of beam weapons. This layer ends off with an anti-heat armor. The next layer is against bullets and ion guns. Then, a faraday cage protects them against magical lightning attacks and so on. Then, a general purpose layer, an explosive layer against shaped charge, an anti-explosive layer, and finally an anti-melee layer that interferes with power swords, chainsaws, etc, and finally against swords and hammers.

Vermillion armor: 5x the fire rate of regular armors. This armor is for anti-infantry and swarm. The user needs to be extra fast to be able to make use of the extra fire rate effectively.

Azurian armor: Stripped of most armor except a modest protection against explosion and minor frag, but with added stealth and is lighter. The user needs to be good at manuevering. This armor serves as a shock troop.

Lunarian armor: This pattern is effective against flying enemies and large targets. It features a jetpack and missile launchers. However, they often only carry one gun.

Custom armor: For distinguished catgirls, they may have power armors crafted for them.

The armors also have active protection systems, energy shield for kinetic weapons and lightnings, crystal energy shield against beam weapons, and point defense lasers against explosives. Moreover, they're trained in psychology such that they can often dodge bullet before even being fired. Some people consider the only way to damage a catgirl is to saturate the battlefield with bullets such that there is no place for them to dodge to. However, their ability to dodge bullets before they're fired only work in some cases. For example, against simple-minded orcs that are pretty predictable. However, they're often trained to dodge even a bullet hell situation where concentrated fire are directed at them, often by finding gaps in the enemy firing pattern and dodging through the gap.

They're organized in packs of 100-150. However, the packs are only informal, and members can join and leave packs. Packs are led by pack alphas. Here are two packs.

While they can fight, they don't always do that. Many catgirls can operate as doctors, engineers, etc and only assemble missions when they need to.

Neet Divas: Led by Jasmine, this pack features hackers. They're experts as infiltrating facilities, and inserting malware. Many times, enemies do not use electronic they use, but they can still reverse-engineer the enemy's electronic system to be able to hack them anyway. Many times, they intentionally leave enemy systems intact but hacked so the enemies are left in a more vulnerable spots than they think. They can also sometimes infiltrate weak links in facilities to insert entry points. They're experts at breaching network air gaps using a combination of physical and cyber attacks.

Alpha catgirls: Led by Seraphina, these catgirls have different kinds of love for technology. They often program their own augmentations and power armors to suit their personalities and fighting styles. They're also leaders and builders inspiring people to build things.

Implants:

1) Metforminal gland: Regulates Metformin, erythropoietin, Aspirin, and other substances that give them extra strength.

2) Battery pack: To power their implants.

3) Combat computer: to regulate systems and help them aim among other things. Come with CPUs and GPUs at the minimum.

4) Neural computer interface: To allow them to connect with the computer and interface with the power armor.

5) Gyro-stabilized arms: These allow their aim to be super precise.

6) Axial flow pump heart: Replacing regular heart for more speed.

7) Air hole: At the chest area, for a more efficient breathing and cooling.

8) Countercurrent air exchanger lung: Bore an air hole at the chest for efficient breathing and cooling.

9) Closed circuit fluid cooling system: To keep them in optimal combat condition.

10) Camera eyes: HD camera eyes. Better than regular ones.

11) Recorder ears: High resolution sound recorder. Better than regular ears. Allow echolocation and so on. Some catgirls might also have ultrasonic sensors.

12+) Depend on particular individuals.

After the process is complete, the catgirls would get their power armor.

Initiation:

The catgirls are initiated by a test by the cat goddess Bastet. The process involves sensory deprivation where they're intravenously fed and kept in sensory deprivation where they confront their own insecurity. Only 1 in a hundred pass. However, it actually only takes an iron will to pass. No matter how weak you were. Goddess Bastet might actually cure you of cancer if you were dying from one before the process, if you're strong-willed enough, that is.
