It was finally his turn so he walked to the front as the whole class cheered. He sat on a stool. "omg! It feels like i'm in an actual Golden concert. I can't wait to hear him sing! " Gretel squealed and I chuckled. I was also curious about his voice. He looked down and started playing the guitar. He started on a soft low tune and began to sing a song I knew too well.
" Sometimes I think, i'm falling down
I wanna cry, i'm calling out
To one more try...
To feel alive...
And when I feel
Lost and alone
I know that I can make it home
Through the dark...
You'll find the spark...
Life is a risk but I will take it
Close my eyes and jump...
Together I think that we can make it
Come on, let's run...
And rise..
Through the night
You and I
We will fight to shine together
Bright forever"πΈπ€
"Bright" I whispered. Although it was an old band song, he made it work with just a guitar and his voice blended in perfectly. He sang like he was the music and the music was him - Dad's words exactly. " Wow, who knew my arrogant brother had a song like this in him. " Gianna muttered. ' yeah, who knew?' I wondered too. The whole class cheered on even though it was obvious they didn't know the song. This was one of Dad's favorite songs, it's a pretty old song, how does he know it?. I use to love this song but not anymore, it brings me nightmares. I sighed.
I looked up when he suddenly stopped singing but that was a mistake because he was looking back at me. I almost tripped on my seat - if that's possible. "Diamond? " Miss Lora called for his attention but he didn't take his eyes away. The roudy class became silent . " I'm done. " He said and got up. "But... " Before she could complete her sentence, he stormed out of the class. Why does he always walk out of class?, He's so arrogant. And why the hell was he staring at me? Probably thinking of how to punish me for the other day before expelling me... Geez!
Diamond
She didn't even move a muscle and there was only a plain look on her face. Who does she think she is to make me this angry? Does she think I suck at music?, No way, i'm awesome. So what was that?, was it the song or the guitar? I wondered and looked at my guitar. Maybe I should have brought my favorite one instead. I sighed. She's the first girl that has shown such dissapproval for me and my voice and it hurt my ego pretty bad.
Why? I'm still trying to figure that out. I calmed myself down with a deep breathe. I'm Diamond and i'm the best, if she has a problem with how I perform then she should try performing. I nodded to myself, "we'll see how you would do in the next class Melissa." I muttered and walk to our private lounge still wondering since when I cared what people thought of me. I still haven't thought of what punishment I'm gonna give her. Something was definitely wrong with me....

The class ended on a weird note with everyone wondering why Diamond suddenly left. I, on the other hand wondered why he was staring so intensely earlier. "What just happened? " Gret asked a rhetorical question. "Huhhh... " Kayden muttered also looking confused. "I should probably go check up on my brother. " Gianna stated and walked out of the class. " I think we should go too." Owen also said and the guys got up to leave.
The rest of the day was good. After school, I took a cab heading straight to the bakery. On getting there, I met the place packed. Wow, Mom's on a big sale today. I watched as she attended to customers with a smile on her face. She looked so happy and that made me happy as well. Mom did make the best pastries and after a long while, her efforts were finally paying off.
Although, she looked messed up with flour all over her apron, she still looked pretty and her smile was the most genuine I had seen in a while. It brought back the memories of how we used to bake with Dad at home. Me, Melvin and Dad, we would mess the whole kitchen up with flour and eggs and sugar and all that and instead of dessert, we would end up making a disaster that's until Mom shows up.
She always had a way of turning our mess into something sweet. Recalling those memories made me smile. I walked in and got behind the counter. I pecked Mom on the cheek. "Hey Mom. " I said. "Welcome baby how was school? " She asked and turned to face me. School?, I just got reminded of that weird Music class. Still got me thinking about why he was staring. Good God! I shouldn't be thinking about this? "Lissa? " I jolted back to reality due to Mom's call. " Hmm? School was fine Mom. " I replied a little still out of place.
"Wow Mom, there's a lot of customers today. " I said as she turned back her attention to her customers. " Yes baby. I haven't had this much customers in months so i'm having a little problem keeping up. " She said still attending to customers. "I figured. Good thing i'm here to help, let me get an apron and i'll join you in a minute. " I said and hurried into the inner room.
I dropped my school bag, got on an apron and went back out to help Mom. She was right. We haven't had customers like this in months, the more they leave, the more they keep coming. I helped out with the sales behind the counters why Mom got to baking some more pastries. Tonight is gonna be a long night....
