'Father will not reveal these things to anyone, even if he wanted to test me.' Anon thought while he subtly scrutinized Seth.
'He isn't some goon of father, so it makes no sense for him to know this much. With father's authority, he would've made sure that anything related to me is tightly shut, and yet…'
Around Seth's neck, where Anon's hand once gripped, was a red mark.
But after cracking his neck and taking two steps forward, the red mark disappeared as if it wasn't there.
"Anon, it seems you've thought it through." He spoke.
"Indeed, it'd be meddlesome if your father is knowing of I, and of what has occurred here." Seth nodded his head and agreed before he continued, instead shaking his head this time.
"But whether it be my existence, or the fact that you used your principle, humanity's strongest will be none the wiser."
"That is a promise to show my sincerity as I offer you an invite to join hands with me, and my new world order." Seth said this and bent his back slightly, bowing to Anon.
Tilting his head, a doubtful expression etched itself on Anon's face.
"New world order?" He glossed over Seth's promise as he focused on the boy's last words.
"There're many families joining hands and creating organizations to fight off the six heroes' authority, but I've not heard of this one."
"Hehe, thank you for the compliment."
Seth smiled, continuing, "When one is out in the open, and the enemy is in the shadows, one has already lost half of the battle."
"Mmm." Anon nodded, but he then coldly smiled and asked, "But isn't the enemy actively stepping out of the shadows and drawing attention to themselves by inviting me to their side, the son of the one out in the open?"
Seth giggled, seemingly without a care in the world as he replied with certainty, "No, no, we'll still be shrouded in the shadows once you accept our offer."
"And what if I decline?"
"Then that would be unfortunate. This possible leak will have to be terminated." Seth said, chortling.
Seth paused and declared with a wry smile, "That is what someone without wit would say."
"For one, I know that you, Anon, possess a more unusual disposition than most and are willing to sacrifice many things to fulfill that desire festering within your heart."
Seth concluded by proclaiming to Anon, "A desire to unravel the unknown, and the mystical, incomprehensible power that comes with it."
In a monotone voice, Anon replied, "Heh... killing father, to avenge mother, it's just an excuse that a brainwashed child would use."
"But such knowledge of myself, of my family, you should not know of that..."
Anon paused before chuckling.
He continued, "Yet, I almost don't care. More importantly, you're offering me an opportunity to fulfill desires."
"Hmm? What if I put up a façade, accepting it here, but revealing everything to my father after?"
Anon stated, "After all, although I desire to kill my father, I also love him. He's taken everything from me, and he's given everything to me."
"Are you so confident that I'll betray him for some foreign person with intentions unknown, and with promises only a fool would believe?"
Hearing this, Seth's grin broadened, his eyes forming crescents as he replied, "Well, I'll have to trust you, wouldn't I?"
"Trust? Heh."
Anon accepted the latter's grin, revealing his own set of white teeth, "Trust is the delusion of the weak and foolish, the deaf, dumb, and blind."
"Ah, your parents must've thought you well." Seth heartily laughed.
As his laughter eased, he examined Anon, asking, "To honor the newest addition to the new world order, the son of the great Supreme Commander, the child of humanity, do you, oh child of hope, desire to spar with me once more?"
The temperature rose and yet, if one was to stand here, their bodies would tremble from a spine-chilling eeriness.
"This time, I won't hold back, and I hope you won't either, your father will know not."
"Fine by me, brother…"
Saying this, the environment encompassing Anon became chaotic once more.
His eyes shining as he asked, "Should I call you brother?"
Though he voiced a question, it did not stop him from stepping towards Seth and punching.
Strange runic characters abruptly appeared, already hovering in the air in front of Seth, bringing Anon's fist to a halt.
The collision of these two opposing forces released a mind-buzzing sound into the vicinity.
"You can call me Seth, cousin, brother, sister, lover, lord, master... anything really, I couldn't care less."
Anon chuckled as multi-colored particles gathered above his head, "Alright then, take my attack!"
The chaotic aura surrounding Anon dramatically increased as stellar cosmic energy fell under his command.
But instead of attacking, he suddenly retreated several steps as the runic characters hovering before Seth transformed into two miniature versions of himself.
They had red skin and black horns curved upwards, with similar blood red eyes and canines poking through their lips.
Releasing maddening laughter, they rushed towards Anon!
"The hell?!"
Even if he was the son of the supreme commander, his experience was limited.
Simply put, he had never seen anything like this before.
"Hehehe…"
...
The rooftop had reached a state of calmness.
Anon and Seth both sat on a bench near the rooftop's railing, staring into the far world.
"I didn't expect that second principle of yours?" Though he spoke to Seth, his gaze did not leave the many buildings outside of the school's compound.
He seemed lost in thought, or maybe dazed.
Seth glanced at him as a smile tugged on his lips.
He replied with a question, "Anon, do you think that you're the only one with two principles?"
'So he even knows this...' Anon thought.
Retracting his gaze, Anon turned to Seth as his eyes shone with a strange brilliance, "It isn't the fact that you have two principles which confuses me, but your second principle itself. That principle, I've not heard of it before?"
Seth's sanguine-colored eyes shone as for a second time, he answered without answering, "With there being as many conceptual ideas as there are stars and planets in the universe, do you truly think you'll know every principle?"
"Maybe not, but the extraordinary ones were taught to me by Liam." Anon muttered under his breath.
"Liam?" Seth titled his head.
"Yeah, my… hmm. Well, ever so often he, well, takes care of me, I guess." Anon pondered aloud whilst pinching his own chin in wonder before he looked at Seth once again, beckoning for an answer.
Seth sighed, bringing his face closer to Anon's as a greyish silvery hue coated his scarlet eyes.
"With this, I'm able to see things otherwise unseen to the mortal eye."
Seth smiled as he backed away and runic characters, indescribable in nature, appeared already hovering in the air before him.
Seth's eyes held a trace of mischief before he stated, "Unless certain, I'd not bring it out casually since strong beings can sense their inherent evil nature."
Anon frowned, "So, what you're saying is, I'm too weak, hence I can't sense it?"
Shaking his head, Seth responded, "No, even if you sense its evil nature, both you and I are part of the same force now, genuine brothers."
"This school though, has no strong individuals, hence there isn't one who's able to sense it." Saying this, he paused, remaining silent for a while.
He seemed to really ponder before he said, "But truthfully, you are indeed quite pathetically weak."
"You can't even match some of those year 1s in the military academy, could never be me."
Seth was indifferent as he said such vicious words, and yet, "Hahaha!"
They both tittered without a care.
In their minds, a myriad of thoughts swirled around as they subtly analyzed each other.
Silence descended once more.
This remained so for an unusually lengthy period.
In this period, the temperature appeared to drop as the air in their vicinity seemingly grew chilly.
Any pretense on Anon's face vanished.
Glancing at Seth, a dark expression etched itself onto his face as he said, "Your answers are quite vague, but I'll put my curiosity to bed."
He paused slightly before asking with a heavy tone, "More importantly, about my dead mother, what do you know?"
