Under the power of the Ice Release: Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals, Zaku was killed instantly. He didn't even get the chance to release the Extreme Decapitating Airwaves, as his arms were crushed by the pressure he had built up himself.
Since Furen was still holding Kin Tsuchi in his arms, he simply buried Zaku's corpse in ice.
After safely landing on the ground, Furen gently set Kin Tsuchi down.
"Thank you, Furen," Kin said shyly, too embarrassed to meet his gaze.
Furen smiled but said nothing. Then... he reached out and began unbuttoning Kin's clothes.
Looking around at the icy surroundings, Furen realized that Kin must be cold. He took off his own cloak and draped it over her shoulders.
"Tha…" Kin started to express her thanks but stopped as she felt a warm sensation on her chest.
"Don't move, I'm healing your wounds," Furen said seriously, without any ulterior motives, as his hands emitted a gentle green light, starting to heal the injuries caused by Zaku.
Kin Tsuchi's Favorability: +5%
Ding!
Congratulations, host! Kin Tsuchi's favorability has reached 100%. You now have four remaining chances to draw a reward. Would you like to use them now?
Hearing the system's voice in his mind, Furen grinned in satisfaction. "What a joke! Of course I'm not using them now. This is only the third person with 100% favorability. I'll wait until I can improve the rarity of the rewards before using my draws."
Under the effects of the Medical Ninjutsu: Mystical Palm Technique, Kin's wounds, which weren't too deep to begin with, quickly healed.
Afterward, Furen asked Kin, "What scroll did you get?"
Upon hearing Furen's question, the now fully obedient Kin quickly pulled out a Heaven Scroll from her clothing.
"It's a Heaven Scroll," Kin said. "Do you need it, Furen? If you do, I'll give it to you."
Furen gently stroked Kin's soft black hair without answering directly. Instead, he pulled a Earth Scroll from his storage scroll.
"Here, take this. Now you can pass the exam," Furen said as he handed the Earth Scroll to Kin.
Kin, overwhelmed with gratitude, immediately threw herself into Furen's arms and hugged him tightly. "Thank you so much..."
In the end, Furen escorted Kin, now in possession of both the Heaven and Earth Scrolls, safely to the exam's endpoint.
Although Kin clearly didn't want to part ways, Furen explained that he had to rejoin his team in order to finish the exam, and thus, they separated.
"With Kin as the only remaining member of the Sound trio, Orochimaru will probably have to find some new sacrifices for the Impure World Reincarnation," Furen thought. He then summoned a large-faced cat using the summoning technique he had established with Tayuya.
"Meow~ What message do you need to send?" the cat asked, looking adorably at Furen.
Furen wrote down the details about the Sound trio and Kin Tsuchi on a scroll and handed it to the cat. Since Kin was now under his protection, Furen wasn't going to let her meet her original fate.
As for Tayuya, Furen was confident she wouldn't be jealous like Sakura or the others. She would surely figure out a way to keep Kin safe.
Having settled Kin's situation, Furen muttered to himself, "Before I rejoin Team 7, there's one more important thing to do."
He looked up at the darkening sky and then created dozens of shadow clones, sending them off in all directions to scout the area. Meanwhile, Furen himself remained seated, waiting patiently.
A few minutes later, one of his clones returned with news. Furen opened his eyes and immediately dashed off in the indicated direction.
Standing on a tree branch, he looked down at the red-haired girl on the ground, who was blindly groping around for her fallen glasses. A smile appeared on his face.
"Found you... Karin Uzumaki."
