Chapter 44 - Temari

Even though Furen tried to entice Enma for a while, Enma, being a summoning beast with intelligence no less than a human, naturally wasn't so easily persuaded into signing a contract with him.

Furen hadn't expected to sign a contract with Enma, the "strongest summoning beast," in just one attempt.

"What will the Third Hokage do?" Furen wondered, trying to guess what steps the Third Hokage would take in response to the joint attack by the Sand and Sound villages.

The scroll Furen handed to the Third Hokage naturally omitted the information about Tayuya's Sound base. He had also discreetly altered some details, including the exact time of the attack on Konoha.

There was another critical piece of information that wasn't included on the scroll: Orochimaru planned to assassinate the Fourth Kazekage!

"Since the announcement for the Chunin Exams has already been sent out, I assume the exams will still take place," Furen said as he looked over the Chunin Exam application form Kakashi had given to all the members of Team 7.

"Things... are about to get interesting," Furen said with a look of anticipation.

As he returned home, Furen opened the door to find that everything had been meticulously cleaned and organized by Karin.

The next day.

"Yo!" Naruto waved happily, welcoming Furen.

"Everyone's here already." Furen glanced around. Sasuke and Sakura had also arrived.

Sakura looked at Furen and playfully extended her hand. "Did you fill out the Chunin Exam application that Kakashi-sensei gave you, Furen?"

Furen ruffled Sakura's hair and handed over the application. "Here, all filled out."

Sakura gathered the applications from all of Team 7. Just as she was about to submit them, two unfamiliar ninjas suddenly appeared in front of her.

Startled, Sakura immediately became alert and asked the two ninjas blocking her way, "Are you ninjas from Sunagakure, the allied nation of the Land of Wind?"

Kankuro, who was carrying a puppet, glanced at Temari standing beside him. Temari took out her pass and showed it to them.

"Can you see it clearly now?" Temari asked disdainfully.

"Temari and Kankuro." Furen looked at the two Sand ninja wearing their village forehead protectors and noted their identities in his mind.

After putting away her pass, Temari's eyes shifted and landed on Furen, standing beside Sakura. In that instant, Temari froze.

"He's so handsome..." Temari thought as she secretly admired Furen's face.

Temari's favorability towards you: 25%

Ding!

Congratulations, Host! Temari's favorability has reached 25%. You have one remaining draw available. Would you like to start?

Hearing the system prompt, Furen was a little surprised and glanced at Temari, who was standing next to Kankuro with a fan on her back. When she noticed Furen's gaze, the faint blush on her face deepened.

Despite this, Temari didn't avert her eyes. Instead, she boldly maintained eye contact with Furen, showing no intention of hiding the affection in her eyes.

Sakura, standing beside Furen, keenly sensed Temari's feelings and quickly wrapped one of her arms around Furen, signaling, "He's my man."

Temari, seeing Sakura's action, merely let out a dismissive chuckle and continued to stare at Furen.

"I'm Temari, from Sunagakure," she said, stepping forward and extending her hand to Furen before anyone else could.

Furen responded politely, "I'm Tsukiyo Furen, a Konoha ninja."

Feeling Furen's hand, Temari smiled with satisfaction.

"Interesting. I didn't expect Temari to be such a fangirl..." Furen thought to himself, then immediately gave the system an order: "Activate the reward!"

The wheel spun, and blue light flashed across.

Drawn reward for 25% favorability with Temari: Wind attribute enhancement.

After using the insignificant attribute boost, Furen smiled at Temari. He was just about to follow Sakura to submit the application forms when he suddenly heard a soft voice next to his ear.

"Furen-kun..."

"Hinata?" Furen turned back with a smile, about to chat with Hinata, whom he hadn't seen in a while.

But suddenly, he noticed a small pile of yellow sand appear under Hinata's feet. Unaware of it, Hinata tripped on the sand and fell to the ground.

Furen's gaze turned cold as he looked up to see a figure perched on a tree branch above Hinata. The figure wore a large gourd on his back, with the kanji for "love" carved on his forehead.

"You... do you want to die?" Furen's voice turned chillingly cold.
