Chapter 7: The Path of Chakra
"Today we are going to learn about chakra and how to extract it," Udo-sensei announced, standing at the front of the classroom. His voice carried through the room, immediately drawing everyone's attention. The moment the words left his mouth, the entire class, except for the clan kids, erupted into excited whispers. Chakra was, after all, the root of a shinobi's power. For most of the students, this was their first real step toward becoming a ninja. But for the clan kids, extracting chakra was something they'd already learned.
I turned toward Tsunade, who sat beside me. "Hey Tsuna, you already know how to extract chakra?"
She blinked at me, then her face morphed into a smug expression. "Of course. I learned it about a year ago. My grandmother says I'm really talented at chakra control. You better learn fast, or you'll be left behind."
I scoffed lightly. "Yeah, yeah. I'll catch up in no time."
"We'll see about that," she teased, her eyes gleaming with a playful challenge.
"Chakra is the combination of physical and mental energy," Udo-sensei continued, cutting into our conversation. "It's the energy through which we use ninjutsu. To extract it, all of you need to sit in the lotus position and focus on the energies within your body. Try to combine your physical and mental power."
The classroom quieted as everyone obediently settled into the lotus position. I closed my eyes and focused inward, trying to follow Sensei's instructions. At first, it was difficult. My mind kept wandering, but after a few moments, I felt something—a tiny wisp of energy flickering within me.
Excitement surged through me. That's it! I'm finally extracting chakra!
Suddenly, a notification appeared in my mind.
[Achievement: Finally Not an Ordinary Human.
Rewards: 10 Points, Increased Understanding Capability]
My mouth twitched at the achievement's name. Finally not an ordinary human? It was a weird way of putting it, but fair enough. Until now, I had been no different from anyone else in this world. Still, the reward of increased understanding capability sounded useful. It would definitely help with learning new jutsu faster.
I quickly called out my status.
Strength: 10 + 2
Agility: 11 + 1
Defense: 9 + 3
Physique: 18 + 2
Mental Strength: 16 + 2
Chakra: 380 (Average Genin Chakra: 200-500)
Points allocated successfully.
Remaining points: 0.
Now came the part I was most eager to test—the system's ability to trade knowledge and techniques. This was what made it truly overpowered. If successful, I could create new jutsu by refining what I learned, and no one would be the wiser. Everyone would think I was just some genius who came up with unique versions of existing techniques.
I thought about the chakra extraction process and silently said, Trade.
{Trade Initiated}
Object: Chakra Extraction Method.
Options:
1. Chakra Control Method
2. Chakra Purification Method
3. 0.1 Kakashi Unit of Chakra
A smile crept onto my face as I realized the possibilities. The chakra purification method wasn't something that existed in the original Naruto world—it was unique to me. Instead of simply increasing the power of my jutsu, this method allowed me to make my chakra far more efficient. I'd be able to do more work with less chakra. For example, if someone like the First Hokage used ten units of chakra for a technique, I could achieve the same result using just one unit. It wouldn't give me massive chakra reserves, but it would give me a unique advantage, especially in long, drawn-out battles where conserving energy mattered.
I chose the Chakra Purification Method, feeling a rush of excitement as the knowledge flowed into me. It was a subtle technique that would take time to fully integrate, but the long-term benefits were undeniable.
"Sensei, I've already extracted chakra," I announced confidently, casting a glance toward Tsunade with a teasing smirk.
Tsunade's eyes widened in surprise, and even Udo-sensei looked impressed. "That's quite fast, Akira," Sensei commented.
I leaned back slightly, enjoying the moment. "Guess I'm not as far behind as you thought, Tsuna," I teased.
She huffed, crossing her arms. "You won't be so smug for long. I'll just have to beat you in everything else."
I chuckled softly. "Bring it on."
With that, Sensei returned his attention to the rest of the class, walking among the students as they tried to extract their own chakra. Some of them struggled, faces scrunched up in concentration, while others managed to make small breakthroughs.
The rest of the lesson passed in a blur as we practiced extracting and maintaining our chakra. By the end of the day, my excitement for the future had only grown. I had the chakra purification method now, and I could feel the potential for growth within me. I'd keep learning, keep refining, and soon enough, I'd stand above the rest.
