Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Awakening of Power

The sun had set low onto the sky, casting an otherworldly glow onto this little dragon village. Standing right in front of the chief village was the young God of Dragons, very handsome and full of features imbued with great powers at around his teenage years, which includes two elegant horns above his head. A blend of eagerness and apprehension coursed through him as he listened to the chief's words.

"I know where your parents are, My Lord," he said, dipping down into a final bow; his voice was hardly steady.

There was untold power inside himself-primal, instinctive-but at the same time earned respect and reverence. His aura flared up so badly that it had been born of godly blood, and he stepped closer to the chief, his eyes narrowed. "How do you know who I am?" he demanded, echoing authority.

Something old hung over the chief of the village, for he sensed something from this young dragon lord. The air seemed electric, so tense that even the old chief could hardly stir a limb.

Then, in a barely audible voice, the headman raised his voice "Great Lord, we have heard tales of the God of Dragons: old tales that have been passed down through the ages. Your coming is unmistakable, and long we have waited for you. That place from which your ancestors originated we have long debated with our elder sages, as we have felt there is an imbalance in our world.".

According to the chief, the boy's auras slowly disappeared because interest superseded anger. "Speak," he challenged in a loud, questioning voice.

"The tribes have long known of this brewing war," the chief continued, his voice a little trembly but all clear. "Two years ago, your parents were taken and taken away by the elders of our tribes. They believed that a dragon with two bloodlines will corrupt them. They looked to safeguard their lineages, not knowing the power your birth brought."

In this young dragon lord, there was a burning inside him-a mix of anger, sadness, and the urge to go out finding his parents. "Where are they?" he asked, flashing forth his eyes.

The village chief swallowed hard, a heightened sense of what he knew to be heavy responsibility. "They have taken them to the Temple of Ancients, where the Elders make their conclave. It is a place of shadows, hidden from anyone without worth. But know this: the Elders are strong, and they keep their secrets close. Be wary of that, because even as God of Dragons, you'll face things that will try your mettle.".

The silence between the two was long and full of destiny. This young lord of the dragons could feel his heart beating very fast as he recalled his parents who were taken captive, how he yearned to be free. "I have to go to them," he declared, purpose settling into his bones.

There, the village chief, perceiving a glimmer of the determination in the lad, took one very prudent step forward and bowed very low for the second time. "Great Lord, before you leave, may I humbly pray for your blessing for myself and my people? We have helped you on your journey, and we would be honored to follow you as your loyal subjects.".

The young dragon lord sat there for a moment. He believed it was rightful because of the chief's humility and sincerity. He knew, inside himself, that this was all about alliances-after all, he was about to face the Elders who took away his parents. "Fine," he said, softer but commanding all the same. "You will have my blessing.".

Saying all that, the young dragon lord stretched out his hand. Brilliant light enveloped him. He felt the energy piercing through all, shimmering and shining with golden and blueish glints, embracing the chief of the village in a warm, tender hug. The chief gasped as the warm liquid filled him, strengthening and energizing him.

There, the light streamed outwards towards the villagers. The villagers began to gather around him with wide eyes brimming with awe. He infused in them a fragment of the divine so that they may draw strength and hope within their heart.

"Lead your tribe with wisdom and with courage," he said. His voice rang out clear and full through the entire village, his words speaking of standing tall as adversity stood against him: "You are now tied to me in blood and spirit.".

When the light had died, the villagers flung themselves on their knees, and their souls appeared to swell out of their bodies with gratitude and pride. The chief of the village rose, standing there, but tears welled in his eyes. "Thanks be to you, Great Lord," he said. "We will pay respect to this boon you give us and serve you faithfully."

The young dragon lord nodded. His mouth spread wide into a smile that would cut through the weight of responsibility balanced on his shoulders. "Now, I have to find my parents. The Temple of Ancients awaits.".

He took a deep breath in, concentrating his mind on one final look at the village and people as he prepared to take off. Now it was time to reclaim his heritage and face all the powers that broke up his family.

Just when he was getting away, an up-well feeling of power suddenly went coursing through his body in a way no one had ever known. Then the air began to thicken and stagnate under the weight of such tension. He felt the call as forward momentum from the energy of the dragon realm.

Goodbye, young lord! said the elder of the village, that showed respect together with hope. May the wind carry you to your destiny!

And with this the young God of Dragons spread off into the air. His shape proved to be a good dragon that soared over the village with the wind, holding all his hopes and dreams for the difficult journey ahead.

The very fabric of the dragon world was a part of his being as he flew, and so the boy with dreams was the God of Dragons, nothing to stand in his way.

In the village, its leader stood up and looked afar as the retreating shape of the young dragon lord receded into the horizon. He felt pride swelling in his heart because he thought that at last the God of Dragons would now return to bring hope into a brighter tomorrow.

The adventure was closing the chapter of a young dragon lord, who went out on the road to fulfill his own quest, find parents, and regain his position among the stars.
