Chapter 52 - Start of Phase 1. Breakthrough (2).

Ethan and Angitia charged forward, their eyes fixed on the horde of beasts. With a swift motion, Ethan raised his hand, and Angitia followed suit. Together, they unleashed a powerful telekinetic blast, sending beasts flying left and right. The air was filled with the sound of crunching bones and snapping limbs as the beasts were tossed aside like ragdolls.

Trevor and Apole darted between the beasts, their smoke affinity allowing them to move with incredible speed and agility. Apole's smoke body swirled and churned, creating a vortex of smoke that disoriented and confused the beasts. Trevor took advantage of the chaos, his scythe slicing through the smoke, striking true time and again.

Suddenly, a massive grizzly bear with huge fangs charged forward, its fur standing on end as it unleashed a deafening roar. Ethan raised his hand, and Angitia followed suit, unleashing a telekinetic blast that sent the bear flying across the battlefield. Trevor took advantage of the opening, his scythe slicing through the smoke, striking true and finding its mark in the bear's heart.

As the bear fell, the beast wave faltered, its momentum broken. Ethan and Trevor took advantage of the reprieve, pressing forward with renewed vigor. Their affinities surged to new heights, their powers amplifying each other's effects.

...

Ethan and Trevor charged forward, their weapons at the ready. Ethan's black war hammer, infused with his telekinetic affinity, glowed with a fierce blue light. Trevor's scythe, shrouded in smoke, seemed to come alive in his hands.

As they clashed with the beast wave, Ethan unleashed a devastating telekinetic blast, sending beasts flying left and right. But this time, he didn't stop there. With a swift motion, he brought his war hammer down, striking the ground with incredible force. The impact sent shockwaves through the earth, stunning the beasts and leaving them vulnerable to attack.

Trevor took advantage of the opening, his scythe slicing through the smoke, striking true time and again. But he didn't just rely on his weapon - he also unleashed his smoke affinity, creating a vortex of smoke that disoriented and confused the beasts.

Angitia and Apole joined the fray, their powers amplifying their masters' abilities. Angitia's telekinetic blasts sent beasts flying, while Apole's smoke vortex obscured their vision, making it impossible for them to defend themselves.

The Dryada, sensing its minions were being decimated, finally entered the battle. Its massive tentacles struck out, trying to crush Ethan and Trevor beneath their weight. But the two warriors were ready.

Ethan raised his war hammer, and Trevor raised his scythe. Together, they unleashed a devastating combo, their weapons striking true and finding their mark in the Dryada's tentacles. The impact sent shockwaves through the air, stunning the Dryada and leaving it vulnerable to attack. Its tentacles received a bit of damage, but it stood its ground while its opponents got thrown 3 meters away, but they managed to stabilize themselves in time.

The Dryada seeing this, unleashed a loud roar as its tentacles shot towards the duo, their tips glinting with a metallic light. The tentacles moved with such speed that they appeared in front of them in an instant catching them off-guard but before it could touch them, a massive earth wall appeared in front of them and block the tentacles. They managed to pierce into the earth wall but that was all. The Dryada made to recall its tentacles, but it found that they were stuck. It stared in wariness as the earth wall turned into mud and covered its tentacles. Before it could react, the mud hardened while a massive tail hit the hardened mud, breaking it along with the tentacles into pieces. The Dryada released an agonizing cry as it had its tentacles decimated into halves. The released black blood as the beast cried while its eyes glowed intensely as it looked for the culprit. The culprit didn't let him wait for long as the ground started cracking. A massive turtle shell with silver and gold designs appeared in its sights as a huge Heavenly Tortoise appeared from the ground, its aura clashing with Dryada's and causing all the weaker beasts around them to blow into pieces. Unlike its tortoise like appearance, Galeno now looked sleek, slimmer and imposing. Its horns were now dark gold while its scales shimmered in gold and black and covered its whole body. It looked like he was wearing armor. It let out a loud and imposing roar which shook the forest and the ground and in turn shocking Ethan and Trevor, especially Trevor. He thanked his stars as he fought as this form of Galeno scared him to the core.

The Dryada also released a menacing growl as its tentacles grew back. It then charged at Galeno but before it could reach him, the earth shifted, and it appeared in front of Galeno but in a different area away from the battle of Ethan and Trevor, confusing it. A massive black tail with gold designs appeared in its line of sight and before it could react, it was sent flying into a cluster of trees, destroying them upon impact. Galeno was now as big as a house, just a little shorter than the Dryada but it had the upper hand in their battle. Its shell and armor-like body were a counter to the Dryada's metallic tentacles. The battle of these behemoths had caused deforestation in the area they were fighting.

...

Ethan's eyes glowed as fallen trees hovered around him. He beckoned to Trevor making him release a cloud of grey corrosive smoke from his body. He then shot the trees at the beasts affected by the smoke. Before the beasts could react, Ethan recalled Angitia and jumped into Apole's mouth along with Trevor. Apole released a blinding white smoke then shot forward out of the beast entanglement with speed. Ethan also activated his aura skill and hid their aura as they flew through the air. Very soon, they had crossed 4 kilometers when a massive black tentacle suddenly appeared in front of them and swatted them to the ground. The attack was so sudden that they failed to stabilize themselves. Apole hit a couple of trees, destroying them upon impact. It then skidded to a stop and opened its mouth to release the wrecked passengers in its mouth. Ethan crawled out with blood flowing from his head while Trevor had small cuts on his face.

"What the fuck was that!" Trevor screamed with a horrified expression.

"The Dryada. It somehow managed to sense us. I hope that Galeno is okay." Ethan said with a worried tone.

As they struggled to their feet, the Dryada emerged from the trees, its massive tentacles writhing like living serpents. Ethan and Trevor knew they had to act fast - they were no match for the Dryada's brute strength. Trevor quickly recalled Apole as its eyes' glow dimmed.

Ethan raised his hands, and the trees around them began to hover in the air. Trevor released a cloud of grey corrosive smoke, enveloping the Dryada's tentacles. But the beast was relentless, striking out with its tentacles and sending Ethan and Trevor flying across the clearing.

As they struggled to get back to their feet, the Dryada unleashed a devastating attack, its tentacles mercilessly striking them again and again. Ethan's Aura Shell was no match for the Dryada's sheer power, and they were quickly overwhelmed.

Just as all seemed lost, Galeno burst from the underbrush, its massive tortoise shell glowing with a fierce golden light. It charged forward, its shell striking the Dryada's tentacles with incredible force, giving Ethan and Trevor just enough time to scramble to safety.

But the Dryada was far from defeated. It gave chase, its tentacles striking out with deadly precision. Ethan, Trevor, and Galeno fled through the forest, desperate to escape the beast's wrath.

As they ran, more beasts emerged from the trees, attacking them from all sides. Ethan and Trevor fought valiantly, but they were no match for the sheer numbers.

Just when it seemed like all was lost, Galeno unleashed a devastating attack, its shell glowing with a fierce golden light. The beasts were repelled, giving Ethan, Trevor, and Galeno just enough time to escape.

But the Dryada was still closing in, its tentacles striking out with deadly precision. Ethan, Trevor, and Galeno knew they had to keep moving if they wanted to survive. They fled through the forest, desperate to find a way out of the beast wave's deadly grasp.

As they fled through the forest, Ethan, Trevor, and Galeno encountered a group of beasts with special abilities. There was a massive bear with razor-sharp claws, a pack of wolves with glowing red eyes, and a giant eagle with talons as sharp as knives.

Ethan and Trevor knew they had to fight, despite their injuries. They charged forward, their weapons at the ready. Ethan's war hammer glowed with a fierce blue light, while Trevor's scythe shone with a deadly grey glow.

The battle was intense, the beasts using their special abilities to try and overwhelm Ethan and Trevor. The bear swiped at them with its claws, the wolves snapped at their heels, and the eagle dove down, its talons outstretched.

But Ethan and Trevor were determined to emerge victorious. They fought with every ounce of strength they had, their weapons striking true time and again. Galeno joined the fray, its shell glowing with a fierce golden light as it charged forward, striking the beasts with incredible force.

Despite their valiant efforts, Ethan and Trevor suffered injuries. Ethan's arm was gashed by the bear's claws, while Trevor's leg was bitten by the wolves. But they refused to give up, fighting on with gritted teeth.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they emerged victorious. The beasts lay defeated at their feet, their special abilities no match for Ethan and Trevor's determination.

But their victory was short-lived, as the Dryada appeared on the horizon, its tentacles writhing like living serpents. Ethan, Trevor, and Galeno knew they had to keep moving if they wanted to survive.

They fled through the forest, their injuries slowing them down. But they refused to give up, driven by their determination to reach Babel's Hive.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they reached the edge of the forest. Before them lay a narrow path, winding its way up a steep hill to the entrance of Babel's Hive.

Ethan and Trevor stood at the edge of the forest, their chests heaving with exhaustion. They knew they had to keep moving, but they also knew they couldn't go on much longer.

The Dryada emerged from the forest, its tentacles striking out with deadly precision. Ethan, Trevor, and Galeno knew they had to make a final stand if they wanted to survive.

Angitia suddenly appeared, coiled around Ethan's neck. Blue glowing lines suddenly appeared on Ethan and Angitia's face, forming intricate patterns. In less than a second, a snake face-like tattoo had formed on their faces as their eyes glowed a mix of blue and silver. An invisible shield formed in front of them while the tattoo glowed intensely. As the tentacles reached near Ethan's face, it stopped abruptly and started shaking. What shocked Trevor and Galeno was that the Dryada was also shaking with an expression of fear on its face. Before they could react to this development, Ethan reached out to Galeno who subconsciously transformed to its baby form and dashed towards the hill. Trevor didn't need to be told twice as he dashed after Ethan. Very soon, they were reached the top of the hill. In front of them was a space and floating islands scattered across that space.

"Trevor, do you trust me?"

"I'm not sure."

"Ouch! At my signal jump with all your strength."

"Wha..."

"Jump!"

"Fuck you, Ethan!" Trevor screamed as he jumped off the hill, but a strong pair of bloody hands pulled him to a princess carry as yellow lightning suddenly engulfed their figures.

PRAK! AAH!

In the night sky, a yellow streak flew, its glow brightened by the two moons that looked over Babel's Hive. They had escaped the beast horde in a day.
