Chapter 3 - 2: Graceful Endurance

[Race Selected. 25 points have been deducted.]

Soren had selected a baseline Seraphim race, but what made him curious was that the System allowed him to customize his race with alterations from his first life. It nearly made Soren doubtful that this System really wanted the best for him, but this did not prevent him from further customizing what he desired.

With most mutations literally at or under five points, Soren spent fifteen points on three important mutations. He gave himself [Transcendent Immortality], [Vessel Manifest], and [Shadowed Presence].

Transcendent Immortality is a mutation that—for five points—made him even more unkillable than normal. Despite the fact the show made it clear God (or Chuck) was the final boss to clear, Soren wanted to make sure he couldn't be killed by even acts of God. To him, this mutation made it so much easier to live without fear for some random smiting from either Michael, Lucifer, or God himself.

Vessel Manifest allowed him to retain a human vessel without needing to rely on consent. This meant that he could live as a human without needing to rely on a specific bloodline to use his full powers on Earth. It also made things easier by endlessly modifying the vessel to better fit the era.

For the last one, Shadowed Presence, it is a tad more vague. All Soren could tell about it was that this allowed him to be perceived as human by nearly any supernatural force—making being trapped impossible. He did not know where the limit was on how far this mutation could go, but he had a good feeling about it.

With the three biggest mutations out of the way, Soren was left with seventy-two points.

[Appearance Customization]

With your chosen race confirmed—and altered—it is time to choose your new appearance. This means you can freely alter what you desire to be instead of being forcibly granted a new appearance.

You can use the RGB, Hexcode, or Minecraft-style color builds to design your new appearance.

Soren looked through the customization modules and noted that the System grayed him out on the Male gender. He guessed it was because he wasn't up to be a girl or a mix of either binary gender, but that didn't mean he wouldn't shudder at the thought.

He quite liked being a guy.

He took his time to choose his vessel's appearance and his own true form as a Seraphim over the course of an hour. It seemed rather odd that he had to choose what he wanted to look like in his true form, but he made himself look like what he wanted anyways.

For his true form as a Seraphim, he made himself look similar to the Chesire Cat from Alice in Wonderland (the Disney live-action movie) but with a few minor differences. These differences he had designed to be extremely difficult to notice so that way even if he was noticed somehow, he'd be near-indistinguishable from the actual Cheshire Cat.

As for his human vessel, he wanted to retain his more younger self before the System integrated.

Soren had been a young white male living in Eugene, Oregon. The city was not quite as big as Portland or New York City, but to him, it was home. Just a few days after his 18th birthday, he got to witness and live through the horrors of the System for the first time. He had somewhat long blonde hair and deep sapphire blue eyes—which despite his handsomeness did get him attention from the racists—that made him quite attractive to all genders.

He went through what his human self would look like—roughly 5'10", lean yet muscular, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a soft tan white skin with a somewhat large endowment—before hitting the Confirm button.
