Months into her efforts, as Selene was returning from another meeting with the beasts, she sensed something was off. The usual hum of life in the forest felt subdued, and an unnatural chill hung in the air. Her water dragon, attuned to the energy of the world, seemed agitated, circling above as though seeking something hidden.
She quickened her pace, moving deeper into the forest until she reached a clearing where some of the forest's more mystical creatures gathered. Normally, these creatures were vibrant with the spirit of nature, but today they looked weakened, and their once-lustrous coats and feathers appeared dulled, with faint traces of dark mist clinging to them.
