On a suspicious day, King Emorimori gazed over his flourishing lands, where golden grains swayed like waves beneath the warm sun. The farmers were prosperous, the markets thrived with colorful wares, and the laughter of children echoed in the fields. Yet, despite this peace, one dark shadow lingered in his heart: a yearning for was prosperous , but lucking a staunch army of warriors and dynamic weapons like their neighboring kingdom. Formidable weapons that would solidify his kingdom's power and ensure safety from the marauding forces that plagued the neighboring territories.
"Where will I find what I seek?" he pondered aloud, troubling the air around him, as he paced the dull stone floor of his grand hall.
Meanwhile, in the kingdom of Getom—a land notorious for its unquenchable thirst for conquest—Ocen, a warrior of blinding strength and cunning intellect, roamed restlessly. The sun peeked through a shroud of clouds, spilling light onto the hardened faces of his clan. Ocen had grown tired of skirmishes and petty raids; he sought something grander.
On the cusp of his ambition, Ocen met with Yusuf, a famous trader known for his dealings in the dark alleys of the world, where the sun seldom shone. "Greetings, Mr. Ocen," the trader began with a grin, his confidence pulsating like a drumbeat. "I have good news." He spoke of a previous bounty of weapons procured from distant lands, now mere whispers of his past dealings.
Yet, shadows clothed Yusuf's heart. He had run low on stock and needed slaves to barter, especially high demand of slaves in Cuba. As he told Ocen of his eagerness . "There are few kingdoms left to raid," Ocen lamented, glancing around nervously. "Only Morungatuny and Abela."
An idea twinkled in Ocen's mind like starlight in a darkened sky. "What if we approach King Emorimori instead?" he proposed. "Let us trick him into trading his youth for the weapons he desperately desires. He will not see it coming."
With their hearts heavy with ambition and a hint of malevolence, Ocen and Yusuf mounted their swift steeds and journeyed towards Morungatuny, cloaked in charm and deception. Upon their arrival, they presented themselves at King Emorimori's court, their heads bowed low in feigned respect.
"Greetings Your Highness," Ocen began, his voice smooth as silk. "We come bearing an offer that could magnify your standing— that could make you feared across the lands! We know of your aspirations for power and territory."
Intrigued yet cautious, Emorimori listened. He knew the weight of ambition, but he sensed something beneath Ocen's polished delivery—an undertow of treachery, perhaps. Still, the allure of weapons, the promise of strength, beckoned to him. "What is the price to pay?" he questioned, steel beneath the velvet of his tone.
"Some of your able-bodied youth. Just a few," Ocen replied, a predatory gleam in his eye.
Though a chill crept up Emorimori's spine, he was not yet ready to reveal his apprehensions. Instead, he summoned his advisors, secretly plotting to outmaneuver Ocen's scheme. They would gather the youth in the village square, under the guise of a meeting, while sending his son, Prince Odeke, to safety in the enchanting realm of Abela.
As dawn unfurled its golden wings, word spread across the kingdom, and eager youths trickled into the square, unaware of the impending doom.
The sun smiled down upon them, crafting a scene of innocence that would soon be shattered. But even as a sense of unease blanketed the village, many trusted their king, embedding belief in his intentions.
Mean while as the prince were heading to Abela kingdom, Ongatuny saw a vision. " I think our land is in danger said Ongatuny", Are you now aseer? Asked the chief warrior with angry voice.
Am going back to the village to save our people we all know that most of the warriors are with us here leaving the village vulnerable with few warriors, said Ongatuny," he continued we shall divide the group into two one group will go with the prince the other will head back to the village.
I think Ongatuny is right, "said one of the warriors", but what l don't understand is why the king sent almost all his warriors way with the prince which has never happened before, said another warrior",
Who are you to question the king's order? Asked the chief warrior.
We have every right cause our families are in that kingdom what if something happens, it means we loss all our loved ones, said Okirror.
Hence the warriors divided themselves in two groups one lead by the chief warrior to escort the prince and the other with Ongatuny back to the village.
On the other hand the king sent his messager to announce to every that all youth are needed in the village square in the morning.
The messager went around shouting, everyone here is the message from the king all youth are need in the village square tomorrow morning, continued the message while moving the whole village.
Youth were ponderous why the urgent meeting with the king, while Ocen's selfish desire was already pushed him to betray the king.
Filling so jovial that the once untouchable Morungatuny was now at the Palm of his hand, he jubilated.
As the youth cluster together, unbeknownst to them the village was already under attack.
"Run! Run! Run! We have been attacked , voice were screaming while other were captured by Ocen since they never expected war at that significant moment.
After the village square attack, Ocen and his men didn't stop there but headed to the village slaughtering people and capturing both weman and men which was not on there agreement
"l have killed my people with my own hands, but now, " I shall end what l started, my greed for power and ambitions have lead me to my doom, said the king".
While wearing his armor, his fore face wrinkled, the nose narrowed and his jaws clenched out of disappointment. He picked his spear and shield and treked with some guards to the battles.
Meanwhile Ms Agrippina and the husband had dug asafe tunnel which was meant for ther child safety, so the decided to hide all kid and vulnerable people there.
The old ,sick, disabled and children were evacuated and the entrance was covered with grass and tree branches making it invincible .
unfortunate for Ms Agrippina as she was going to look for grandma Magdalena amidst the fight , she was held captive and rapped by Ocen Infront of her husband and grandma
trying to save Ms Agrippina the husband got killed together with grandma Magdalena Infront a woman who was raped.
With shame of being raped Ms Agrippina could not stand it , how shall l face my child? She asked herself, lhve lost almost my entire family,
"What do l live for? to burn myself in shame? no way , hence Ms Agrippina committed suicide.
Though the king tried his best but it was too late all his guards were wiped, at last he was killed by Ocen in a serious battle clash. Only the stronge survives , said Ocen to the dying king, hence the king kicked the bucket.
When the warriors with Ongatuny arrived it was too late , the village was filled with dead bodies, laying in the pool of blood flowing like a river to the stream, the carrion birds feeding on the corpse as the vultures linger in the blue sky.
To his shock his father and grandma Magdalena had already kicked the bucket while the mother was in her last breath.
Ongatuny held her in his arms with tears rolling in her chics, dont cry my child, l put the lives of the remaining people in ur hands.
protect them for there're our only descendants and leave before Getum warriors see you take those kids out of here that's my last wish rebuild our kingdom, she continued, we were betrayed by our own, *the king* then she told her the entire story on how it happened., and kicked the bucket .
With so much hatred , Ongatuny shouted, am coming for you, all of you , l shall make you pay for the atracities that you have comited Oh Getum and l shall be the gate to your down fall that is my promise.
And from today henceforth, l am no longer Ongatuny, l am now the new *Maria Angatuny*
All my debitors will have to pay their Depts , the voices of the innocent kids , mothers, fathers, and the old they slaughtered will ring in my ears till the day l avenge them. Am coming oh Gatom.
