The Storm had passed, Lucian and his new companion, Lucy, had walked out of the cave.
"Hm..." Lucian said with a frown, "That lasted for a long time...."
Lucy rested on his shoulder, tilting its head.
Lucian then felt his stomach growling, he was hungry. And he can only imagine that his new companion was hungry as well.
"Oh boy..." He muttered, "I've been eating nothing but bread and water since I was captured....I could use some meat, eh? What do you say Lucy?"
Lucy chirped in approval.
"Are you a boy or a girl?" Lucian asked, "I assume you're a girl since you like the name Lucy."
Lucy chirped again, as if agreeing with him.
"Oh! You're a girl, huh?" Lucian smiled, "Alright then, girl, let's go find something to eat."
Lucian began to walk, his boots splashing the puddles of water that were on the mud. As he walked, he felt a strange sensation in the air.
Lucy vocalized, looking up at the sky. Lucian noticed this and stopped, following the wyvern's gaze.
"Hm..." He said, "Strange, huh? You feel it too?"
The Wyvern extended her wings, opening its mouth and gave off a light rumbling.
Something was picked up by Lucian's senses, as if something was lurking about. But he didn't feel in danger, not immediately. He could only assume that whatever it was, it was simply in the area, not realizing they were there.
"This is an unknown world..." Lucian muttered, "I don't know what dangers lurk....so far, I've been in the captivity of that woman, Lunaris. I admit, she taught me how to control my power to an extent but I didn't trust her at all."
He began to walk, making his way to the direction of North, in hopes to find something.
According to what Lunaris had said, they were in the countryside of the Bull Kingdom. Lucian assumed that whatever this Kingdom is, it consisted of large forest regions and fields with some villages nearby.
When he had crossed over, he attacked a milling village not too far from Lunaris's camp. Lucian knew that there should be more villages or towns nearby. He had to gain as much distance as possible, trying to get away from Lunaris, he did not want to be held captive yet again.
To think that Lucy would even come to existence and then eat the cuffs that Lucian had on his wrists. Something told him that the Calamity was trying to look out for him. But Lunaris claimed that it was only doing that for its own benefit. It's as if Calamities can gain a mind of their own, near sentient.
Lucian still didn't understand it completely but he knew one thing; He had his entire power sealed under 64 Layers. That meant that his power was too great to be easily controlled that it needed that many layers of seals. The process he getting those seals was incredibly painful, unlike anything Lucian had ever felt in his life.
And he has broken one. Lunaris told him that upon undoing the first seal, Lucian would have access to the Calamity and he realized that the manifestation of Lucy was part of his power.
He can control anything related to Dragons, he'd assume.
"Hm..." Lucian said as he walked, "All of this is troublesome...first there's this whole situation and then there's my memories...they're still jumbled....I have to find out what happened. Why was I crossed? I don't know. There must be a way to go back home...."
"No matter what."
************
Lucy chirped as Lucian crouched down, peeling the head of the fish like nothing and then tossing it to her.
Lucy caught the fish's head in her mouth swallowing it whole with ease.
"Heh." Lucian said, "You're quite hungry, huh? That's 5 heads by now. Don't worry, I intend to cook these, let me just skin then."
He had found a rusty knife in the middle of the forest which he had cleaned in the river he's next to and used a bit of his flames to burn away the rust, something he didn't know was possible. He found a river and saw several fishes in it so he decided to eat some.
In the forest, he found some berries and picked them, feeding them to Lucy. So far, he's been having good luck in finding food, but still, mere berries won't do the trick to him. But now, he has fish, which is better than nothing.
He lifted the knife up and inspected it, hoping that there would be no rust on it any longer. It seemed clean, as clean as it could get.
"Okay..." He said as he stood up and held the five fishes he caught with his bare hands, walking towards a log that laid next to a large rock that was conveniently placed there, "Let's start working on it."
He sat down and began to use the knife, carefully filleting the fish with it. The knife was surprisingly sharp, which Lucian was glad about.
Lucy perched down on the log next to Lucian, patiently watching him work.
After Lucian finished filleting the fish, and stripping its scales, he offered it to Lucy.
"Can you cook it?" Lucian asked
Lucy tilted her head, chirping as she opened her mouth.
Lucian tossed the fish into the air above the large rock and like nothing, Lucy spat flames at it briefly. The fish landed on the stone, smoke coming out of it as it sizzled loudly.
"Huh." Lucian said as he saw Lucy jump to the rock and picking the fish with her mouth, swallowing it whole, "How about that? You better save some for me."
He chuckled as he proceeded to fillet the rest of the fish, cutting them up and carefully removing their scales. Unlike Lucy, he didn't plan on eating it whole, bone and all. If she could cook it like she did the others, he'd simply bite the meat off the bones and hope that it's enough to satisfy him.
Lucy flapped her wings and began to fly into the air, chirping loudly and happily as she looked down at Lucian who was working on the fish.
"Take it easy, buddy, don't fly off." He said with a chuckle as he set aside the freshly filleted fish, "Lets just eat and move on, try to find a town or something."
As Lucy flapped her wings, a blur flashed at her. Lucy turned to see an iron net wrap itself around her as she shrieked in panic.
Lucian looked up to see the iron net, connected to a rope, be slammed to the ground and dragging Lucy away.
"Lucy!" He exclaimed as he stood up
Without warning, he felt something strike at his face which took him by surprise, stumbling him back.
Lucian felt blood on his cheek as he caught a glimpse of an arrow head spinning in the air in front of him.
"What?" He said as he straightened up
He had an arrow fired at his head, which shattered upon impact but scratched him, drawing a bit of blood.
He saw as the net dragged towards the tree-line as two figured appeared.
"Whoa, what is this guy?" The voice of a woman said as she came into view, "The arrow didn't kill him...."
"Whoever he is, he's got a baby wyvern with him." The other figure, a man, said
Lucian narrowed his eyes as Lucy shrieked, he saw that a man and a woman came into view. The Man, was tall and burly, and bald. He was holding a spear in his hand and he had a scar diagonally across his face. The woman was short and petite, had blonde hair, and wore a shirt and pants while holding a bow.
"What the fuck...." Lucian wiped the blood of his cheek, "What are you supposed to be?"
Lucian saw as Lucy was dragged to the shadows by the net; there was a third person.
The woman nocked another arrow, "Don't you worry about that." She said with a smirk, "We'll make sure that Wyvern is sold to the highest bidder.....and that you're dead in the ground."
The Man chuckled, "Got that right."
Lucian glared at them, "Yea, no." He said,
"I don't think so."
