Wyverns are lesser types of Dragons, descended from the real deal. They are large, and scaly, with two limbs and a set of wings. Their ancestors, Dragons, are four-limbed with a set of wings and had extremely potent magic.
While wyverns don't possess incredible magic like dragons, they are incredibly dangerous creatures that can cause destruction like no other. Some types of Wyverns are capable of wielding potent magic that can put them at the level of their Ancestor Races. Since they descend from Dragons, Wyverns are susceptible to the Dragon Calamity, allowing the Dragon God to create and wield anything related to Wyverns.
And now, Lucian had created a baby wyvern, with silver scales and wings. Something that shocked Lunaris, who was unaware that this was possible.
"I..." Lunaris said as she slowly landed on the ground as the rain poured down, "Lucian...."
Lucian smiled as he rubbed the chin of the wyvern hatchling, "Nice..." He said, "I can't believe this was even possible."
Lunaris extended her hand forward, "It's not too late to come with me, Lucian." She said, "I will overlook this stunt, just-"
"No." Lucian cut her off, "It's going to take a lot more convincing than just 'do as I say'. Got that? I'm not some puppet you lot can just control."
Lunaris frowned, "Lucian, this is bigger than you and me...." she started, "I..."
"I'll be the judge of that." Lucian said, "Get out of my way, dammit!"
"You can't beat me in a whole-out fight, Lucian." She said, "I really don't want to hurt you..."
"There's no choice for you to." Lucian scowled, "It's going to take for you to kill me to stop me!"
"Enough!" Lunaris exclaimed, "I can't be this patient with you!"
The Wyvern then shrieked again, emitting a powerful shockwave that moved Lunaris back. The shriek was so loud that both Lucian and Lunaris had to cover their ears to bear with it.
"Shit..." Lucian said, "This is one loud baby...."
The Wyvern then extended its wings as it stopped its shriek. Then, it began to rear it's head back, a bulge was noticeable on its throat as Lucian noticed a bit of smoke coming out of the mouth.
Lunaris widened her eyes, "W-What?"
The wyvern then shot a massive silver fireball at Lunaris, dwarfing her entire figure. Lunaris placed both her hands forward, raising a barrier of purple light in front of her as the fireball collided with her and began to push her back toward the river.
"Whoa!" Lucian said with surprise
He watched as Lunaris was pushed by the fireball across the river and against the wet and muddy slope. A massive trail of steam and smoke followed as a fireball of that much heat temporarily disrupted the river.
Lunaris grimaced as she struggled against the fireball, "This power...." She said as a spherical barrier of purple light surrounded her, "Is this the Calamity????"
The Fireball then detonated, causing a massive explosion that shook the ground. Lucian covered his face as he was hit with a shockwave and a gust of wind and steam. The rain still poured down hard, dousing any flames that was caused by the fireball, a massive pillar of smoke and steam was seen where Lunaris was pushed towards.
The wyvern extended his wings and let out a high-pitched roar as it glared at the pillar of smoke.
"Awesome..." Lucian said with awe, "Nice! Okay, this is our chance, buddy! Let's run!!"
Lucian turned around and began to run, the baby wyvern still perched on his shoulder. As he ran, splashes of water sprayed everywhere with a hint of steam.
From the pillar of smoke, Lunaris emerged, seemingly unharmed. She was rubbing her forearms yet again, they were a bit more charred.
"What was that power..." She muttered
She heard a booming crack of thunder as several flashes of lightning filled the sky.
She looked up, feeling the downpour get harder by the second; She was beginning to get worried by the sudden storm.
"I should wait this storm out..." She said, "I have no choice but to call for the trackers again....but they won't ride in this weather...."
She flapped her wings and began to levitate in the air, crossing her arms as she frowned.
"If I stay out too long, my wings will get too wet and heavy to fly...." She thought to herself, "I knew Calamities were powerful, but to think that he'd create a living creature out of his ether...and that baby wyvern was not just any wyvern. It was a Royal Wyvern.....powerful....even as a hatchling.....I have to go back to my camp.....and report..."
She let out a sigh, "Why am I stuck with such an idiot....?" She grumbled, "I didn't expect him to rebel suddenly. But I can't blame him...."
"None of this is his fault."
**********************************
As Lucian ran, he was overwhelmed by the rain in his face, which blocked his vision, seconds at at time.
"Shit..." He said as he slid to a stop, "Fuck!"
He wiped his face, feeling nothing but rainwater on it. His entire body was drenched and muddy, courtesy of miles of running in nothing but rain and mud.
"What do I do?" He said as he looked around, "That Lunaris doesn't seem to be following. But she's not stupid, she'll send for riders as soon as the storm passes. I have to get as much distance as possible. I wonder how long this storm will last...."
There was nothing but forest around him, the rain was so hard that the thick branches and leaves were no help in sheltering him from the downpour. He had been running for what felt like an hour, his baby wyvern clutched on his shoulder patiently and quietly.
He noticed a small cave off into the distance, past some trees and a log.
The Wyvern chirped, bumping him on the head.
"Y-Yea..." Lucian said as he took off running towards the cave
Within the matter of seconds, he reached it, nearly jumping towards the dry space of the cave in desperation and relief.
"Ah..." He said as he collapsed to his knees and he felt the water pour down from his body to the ground, "That feels amazing....no more rain falling hard on me...."
Lucian felt the Wyvern jump off his shoulder and saw that it landed on a small rock in front of him. The Wyvern chirped again, looking at a dried pile of branches in front of them.
"What a coincidence..." Lucian smiled, "Whew....we should start a fire, dry us off, no?"
Without wasting a second, the wyvern opened its mouth and spat silver flames at the pile of branches and immediately lit them up.
Lucian widened his eyes and felt the heat hit his body as the wyvern tilted his head and looked at him, chirping again. By a stroke of luck, Lucian was in front of a conveniently placed campfire.
"Wow." He said as he placed his open hands over the flames, "You're something, huh?"
The Wyvern extended its wings and shook its neck, spraying water everywhere, hitting Lucian in the face.
"Ah!" He exclaimed, "Take it easy!"
The Wyvern chirped as lowered itself down and looked at him, blinking its bright blue eyes.
"Hm..." Lucian said, "You a boy or a girl? What should I name you?"
The wyvern tilted its head in confusion.
"You're my only friend in this world, huh?" Lucian continued, "And you're quite strong....."
The Wyvern opened its mouth and let out a quick hiss, extending its wings as if it was flexing.
Lucian chuckled, "Hm...." He said, "I don't know, I'm not good at naming things...You're silver, eh? Hm....."
Lucian gave it a deep thought, searching that fuzzy memory of his to find something from his past life that he could take inspiration from to name his new companion.
"I..." He said, "I don't know.....Wait...I'll spitball several names and you'll tell me which one you prefer."
The Wyvern chirped in approval.
"Okay." Lucian said, "Here we go."
"Silverwing?"
The Wyvern didn't react.
"Silverscale?"
The Wyvern didn't react.
"Silversoul?"
No reaction.
"Silverflame?"
Still no reaction.
"Guess it's not a fan of my creativity..." Lucian thought to himself, "Man, I'm boring."
"Terry!"
No reaction.
"Bummer, I think that was my dog's name." Lucian thought to himself again, "Wait? I had a dog? Is my memory returning?...I had a dog! Is he still alive? Oh god, he's alive, isn't he? No....Terryyy!!! Wait....I think that was my childhood dog....he passed when I was 12....nevermind."
"Bucky!"
No reaction.
"Cas?"
None.
"Sam?"
Nope.
"Dean!"
Nothing from the Wyvern.
"Michael."
It's as if the Wyvern wasn't reacting because it didn't understand what Lucian was doing.
"I'm Lucian..." Lucian said, "And you're my little buddy....ah what the hell...How about Buddy?"
The Wyvern tilted his head.
"No?" He said, "How about Little Lucian.....Lucy!"
The Wyvern chirped in excitement, extending its wings, as if it approved the name.
"Seriously? Lucy?" Lucian asked with a raised eyebrow, "None of those names interested you? You went with Lucy?"
Lucy tilted its head.
"Okay then." Lucian chuckled, "I'm Lucian, Lucy...."
"Nice to meet ya."
