Chapter 1 - Unnamed

Ryan huddled in the alleyway, clutching his prize possession, a half eaten bun wrapped up in a oily newspaper. He then spotted two trash bins on the side of the walls and hid behind them as he unwrapped his meal. Before he took a bite, he poked his head out to see if anyone was after him.

After seeing that the coast was clear he slowly took a bite, savouring the sweetness of the sugar coated bun. It had been a long time since he tasted something so sweet. His eyes lit up in elation as he quickly took another bite. As he kept munching on his breakfast, the hunger that was tormenting him slowly subsidised.

His life was not as smooth as ours, he was an orphan who lived in the streets as long as he can remember. He does not even know his parents. The only person who he remembers who took care of him when he was a child was an old woman who lived in the neighbourhood. She was a kind and loving soul, she treated him like her own child even though she had none.

His happy life didn't last long though as the kind old lady who took care of him passed away when he was 8 years old. Ever since that day, he had been living as an orphan, sleeping in cardboard boxes and living off other people's left overs.

Since then it was a like a game of survival of the fittest because some other orphans who were older than him would steal his food and he would spend days without food. That's why he was hiding behind the trash bins right now, so he could eat in peace and finally satisfy his rumbling stomach.

After finishing his meal, he threw the newspaper in the trash bin and slowly made his way out the alleyway and mindlessly strolled the streets looking for his next potential meal.

He walked past a few restaurants but he didn't dare enter because he knew the harsh treatment he would receive so he kept walking forward.

As he walked past yet another restaurant, he heard someone calling out whilst waving in his direction. He looked left and right to see who was being called only to see no one,
